I tried out the Titan at a GC yesterday. One thing that I noticed was when I hit the ride cymbal or open hi-hat and let it ring, that ringing immediately stopped or went way down in volume when I hit the bass drum pad, and possibly also happened when I hit the snare. Almost as if there was a polyphony issue like what you'd find with cheap or older keyboards. The cymbals and hi-hat didn't seem as loud when I played a beat vs. just hitting them alone. "Most of our users only use iphones" and... it will stay that way, if you don't have Android apps, because people will simply not buy your product! It something that will never change.
The fact that you can "just plug in your USB to any daw, and record" is just plain false you'll most likely spend an hour or two just trying to get the drums to play through your daw. And you might even have to reset all the samples for each individual pad. It's not that simple, I've owned one of these kits for bout 2 months now and setting up a daw with this kit is not some easy plug-n-play setup.
Yes Android has a much larger market share. But as Loki said, iphones are wildly popular in the USA. And musicians seem to own more apple gear than the public at large. I still think they should make an app for both though. When I owned Samsung and One Plus phones, I was locked out of some of the e-drum apps out at the time

@@65Drums Thank you. Is VAD 307 a good one? Or any recommendation?
Dude, you used Alternate Drummers review footage for your review.....what's up with that?
I wasn’t aware it was his footage. I got that video clip from the official Simmons website. I’ll update the description to credit him now
See now this is what I'm talking about.
If Simmons did this for under $400, why is the TD02KV SO lacking that I actually feel insulted as a consumer ?
Let's 🔥
"Most of our users only use iphones" and... it will stay that way, if you don't have Android apps, because people will simply not buy your product! It something that will never change.
How does this compare with the Roland TD-1DMK?
I like this one more
@@65Drums hey thank you so much for the reply, hadn’t seen it till now lol
The fact that you can "just plug in your USB to any daw, and record" is just plain false you'll most likely spend an hour or two just trying to get the drums to play through your daw. And you might even have to reset all the samples for each individual pad. It's not that simple, I've owned one of these kits for bout 2 months now and setting up a daw with this kit is not some easy plug-n-play setup.
Where can I get instructions for that? I just purchase this kit and I thought it was easy
Anyone know if you can import samples?
Not now, but if it will import new kits it should be fairly easy to implement
Odd statement about android vs ios. Android phones make up 70% of the smart phone market to IOS 28%.
Yes Android has a much larger market share. But as Loki said, iphones are wildly popular in the USA. And musicians seem to own more apple gear than the public at large. I still think they should make an app for both though. When I owned Samsung and One Plus phones, I was locked out of some of the e-drum apps out at the time
Yerp we Americans don't care what the others use 😆😉😘
@@a.m.5439 Japanese companies like Roland and Yamaha make iphone only apps too ;)
Fruit rots.
Yea, I've made apps that work on both, it's really not that hard and i thought ios deployment was a much bigger pita
So you did a review without even playing them
It's not a review at all. I just played it at a store and gave some thoughts about it. I can't take my camera gear into Guitar Center, so my hands were tied. Simmons sent me the SD1250 and SD1200 review units, but didn't send this Titan kit.
KAT KT4
What about it ?
Simmons has always been famous for their cheap "Guitar Hero/RockBand style drum sets LoL
You must be very young... actually Simmons has always been vary famous for being THE SIGNATURE DRUM SOUND of 80s music.
iphone only = no buy
Just for the app, you don't need it at all, it's just a nice to have feature
Too expensive for a multi million dollar company to make an android app? I feel that a iPhone is too expensive for me to purchase, so I have android.
