The famous dance (known by singers as "Quand je bois du vin clairet") is the third part of the Basse Danse "La Magdalena", composed of Basse danse, recoupe & Tourdion. It was published by Pierre Attaingnant in 1529.

This is a lute with chanterelle in A (440)
Pitch was relative in early music, from 392 to 460. For solo music it is not very important.

Avez vous regardé dans les pièces de Thoinot Arbeau : L'orchesographie , il y a de nombreuses danses qu'on peu jouer dans les fêtes. Cherchez Orchesographie dans google... Il y a le fac similé et des arrangements à 4 parties.

very nice. Have you ever listened to the song Donna ti voglio cantare by Angelo Branduardi? He uses the same melody. And also it is used by Blackmore's Night. Obviously a popular tune from the past.

Tres beau travaille. J'ai un groupe de flute barroque et on est entrain de la pratiquer pour la jouer a un marche medieval. Si tu aurais d'autre chanson de se gnere pourrais-je t'en demander? Ou au moin leur nom.

About buying instrument, depends if you want a cheap (but not so good) instrument try EMS lute on E-bay. If you're looking for a good one, try googling Lute Society to find links to makers, or used instruments for sale. On Wayne Cripps lute page you'll find many useful tips and links to music and so...

Depends of the maker... cheap ones at less than 500$ (but not very good ones) students lutes around 1500-2000, concerts lutes above 3000...
Look for lute society on the net and then look for links to makers.

Hello, I don't have this one any more, but I have a renaissance 8 course lute, a baroque one and a theorbo (and some guitars and ukulele, banjos...)
Lute is tuned before playing, if needed, but mordern strings stay in tune better than gut ones.
