Let’s not forget China will implement battery inspections in the future which also benefits swap.
NIO/ONVOs can be exempt because the test can be performed at the swap station. NIO just needs to implement some software changes and get certification from the government. It's a no-brainer since this saves taxpayer dollars plus it's hassle free for NIO/ONVO owners.
Nice car, good value, and option to swap! Along with other EV manufacturers signing up for standardized swap, NIO's value should be exponentially rising.

Achilles heel of the EV industry is the battery, so swapping basically future proofs the vehicle as range starts to increase with new technology. Electric motors are nothing like gasoline engines in their maintenance and life cycle, you can't compare the two. NIO setting standards allows for monetization of a future revenue stream others will not have access to.

They don’t need a bunch of Onvo stores yet. Onvo has only one car model that hasn’t made any sales yet. Just put it in the NIO store and an onvo sign next to NIO sign. As the company grows then add stores. Slow down the cash burn until more money comes in.
My exact thinking, but i am not surprised.. william Li and the Nio brass are great at Ev engineering and tech innovation but they have many holes in there business 101 skills.
Same thinking. Opening so many stores without any sales and knowledge how receptive the brand and car are are risk not worth taking. Nio just keep burning cash like there is no tomorrow. They are also over optimistic and confident of their own products.

Why nio open 100 onvo stores? 100 onvo stores = cashburn again. Better sell onvo inside of nio house .. nio house a lot space inside. Keep the cost Low.. nio still cashburn

Forgive my lack of approval on this but this is over spending (100 stores?) and too soon. Onvo only has one model. They can tentatively be sold at Nio stores and gradually increas the Onvo brand stores.

I dint think P explained the context of NIO battery swap. NIO offered it for FREE for most of its users in the beginning including MR P. They had x free swaps per month. With that in mind, one can easily see how NIO will have more swap use compared to the other swap competition.
If the other swap competitors did offer their services for free then that would be a more fair evaluation.
