Great to see these glimpses of the real China. After my 2 extensive visits in 2015 I came home and tried to communicate my positive feelings about China and its people and culture to people here. It mainly falls on deaf ears. I love what you are doing and am somewhat encouraged that you have over 100,000 subscribers seeing what you see. Thankyou
Living in China for decades, I feel that the biggest change is that the rivers and streams have become clean and clear. The situation of sewage flowing across the river and all kinds of garbage floating on the river has completely disappeared.
We have people that wade out into the flood control "river" by my home in Nanhu International Subdivision and clean out any debris or stuck logs. When it floods they also remove the heavy sand sediment that deposits in the walkways. That has to be a tough job.
The get it done attitude is completely different than the west. The west just talk about it. And if anything is good, they brag about it. If it is bad, they blame it on someone else.
You may have made the bike tour on your own, but rest assured there will be thousands of happy viewers to accompany you, living vicariously in front of their computer screen. Thanks, always a pleasure!

What a thoughtful comment! It brings back memories of when I first drove across the border from Canada to the US. I vividly recall the kind advice given to me by the US customs officer, who advised me to avoid using gas stations in the city after dark. on the other hand, I have no safety concerns in China or Canada......

Great idea of a "concept bike trip"! Hope you collected a lot of old photos to make comparisons along the way. Show them to the local people, old and young, and hear what they have to say about the past 20 years, and what another 20 years might look like into the future.
Missed your rural China trips. This one looks epic! Hope to do a trip like this in my parents' home province of Guangzhou in the future and discover their home towns. I only have a picture of my mother's old family home.
That's so cool! Love seeing your journey. My husband and I just got home from a night time bike ride along the Qinhuai river here in Nanjing. We were also saying how nice the river parks are! Love that about China!
Cool adventure ride~ Cycling long distances consecutively though is definitely a challenge. They did a really good job cleaning and revamping the river.👍 Maybe in between the adventure you can squeeze in a segment to show what equipment you brought along for your Vlog apart from your GoPro. Thanks for your video! Your bike looks good. Be sure always wearing the helmet when you are biking. My helmet (s) save my life at least twice (I don't know why it's so easy that my head always hits the ground in a serious cycling accident.). If your bike is not a e-bike, please make sure you have good foods with both nutrition and energy, and have a good rest day after several days bike ride in a row. Xiamen is dope! Very nice place with nice beaches, but summer can get quite hot though lol.

you can vist Jinmen Island(Taiwan rule), 9 miles from Xiamen, but need a Taiwan VISA
