    Andrew, just a thought with that screener, don’t do a full rotation immediately. Do like a half rotation and do it back and forth just a little bit until enough dirt comes out that you can then do full rotations. I think you can avoid having to dump out the first Extra amount by rocking it back-and-forth initially to get some of the dirt out. Hopefully that makes sense.

    Andrew, have you looked into renting / buying a screening plant? They process LOADS of material into 2, 3, or 4 different grades, and there would be less unwanted material in each pile. I noticed that your screening bucket tends to spill lots of larger rocks on the first spin.
    With your literal mountain of crushed stone, it might be worthwhile to use a machine that's designed for quantity.

    • @gorak9000

      yeah, that bucket seems like a waste of time toy compared to what he needs. I'm surprised he doesn't just know someone that has one of those huge screens - you'd expect the guy he borrowed or rented the crusher from would have a screen too - they pretty much go together.

      Couple the Jaw crusher to a Terex Pegson 4242SR Impactor. Can screen out the fines, produces whatever blend you want, or turn the recirculation conveyor out, produce 3/4 blend, fines, and clean 2-3"+ depending what you have the hammer bar clearance set at. Used to run a HA400S that fed a 4242SR to a 75 ft radial stacker. Could produce tons of material daily with minimal clean up.

    The sideways spinning screening buckets work better in that regard, but on the other hand they are a lot more fragile since the underside of them is screen and not hard steel. Very easy to bump the screen up against a big rock while taking a scoop and ruining it.
    I dunno, maybe this take on it would work better with some practice, and some technique to it. Maybe spin the bucket onto its back and rock it back and forth for a bit before giving it the full rolling treatment?

      I was thinking the same. Typical overengineered overpriced gadget that works worse than the existing solution. Probably why I can't find much on them outside of their own promotion even though they've been available for years. It just doesn't seem to work very good and still dumps rocks on the first couple spins defeating the purpose to begin with. Not to mention the time wasted digging, shifting to get it inside, spin a couple times when you're still dropping rocks, then spinning it, then dumping the rocks. Then add on the time to disconnect your other implement, hook this up, and then change them back. With a shaker you can just continually feed it and while it's shaking grab another scoop. Small jobs maybe but it just seems like it would take a while to pay itself off. Hope Andrew got a deal on it for featuring it.

      @@zodwraith5745 a Shaker Deck could be added to the Rock Crusher's out feed to separate rock size into two different piles. Would be a perfect solution for him around road building and water management.
      He could also have a return belt feeding larger items back through the crusher for another chance at the jaws of the crusher.
      Of course it's easy to point out these things when it's someone else's money. We watch his videos for the entertainment value more than anything, but I'll NEVER buy that bucket trunnel. I want to say he had a smaller one for his skid steer a couple of years back and it didn't work well either

    I think what would help is on your shaker deck on the crusher just before the rocks dump in the crusher you may need to block off the section where the small rocks dump. While watching you video on crushing the other day a lot of the bigger rocks where dropping in there sideways. I think if you block that off completely then ALL the rocks will be all one size. It was just a thought I had and just thought you would like to know. Keep up the great videos they're very entertaining. Butch from Florida.

    • @alco4248
      @alco4248 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The vibrating grizzly feeder is there to try and pull away as much of the fines as possible to lessen wear and increase throughput at the jaw. Blocking it off would only cause the whole operation to slow down. The biggest issue is the type of rock he's running. Since it is so flat, it tends to pass through the jaw sideways, and not get crushed up. What would really help would be a screen after the jaw, to separate the material so he close adjust the closed side setting smaller, and re run the oversize from the screen.
