Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was the son of Shivaji Maharaj and he was the second Maratha king.

This young King had fought battles on several fronts. In 1682 Aurangzeb had left Delhi to conquer Deccan and become the master of entire Bharat. One man had STOOD in his way and that was Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. But in 1689 the unfortunate happened some of his trusted men leaked his whereabouts to the Mughals and after a brief skirmish Sheikh Nizam also known as mukarrab Khan captured Sambhaji Maharaj.
For the next 39 days Sambhaji Raje and his trusted ally Kavi Kalash was subjected to brutal torture and ultimately they were executed on orders of Aurangzeb.
