The only reason any of them should be free is if it turned out they were innocent, like if they were misidentified or deliberately framed. Even then, someone else should take his/her place - like the real child molester or the one/s who set him/her up.

I Will tell you why child molesters are let loose/protected in prison, are you ready?... Its because it is a sickening indulgence that people (if you can call them that) from every level of society partake in. From the poor right up to the elite & it's at the very top where it is at its most rampant & depraved but very well organised & hidden, hidden to an extent anyway. If these rich & well connected types do find themselves having to do a stretch inside then they make sure there are measures in place so that they always get out & as quickly as possible & are protected while in prison...an insurance policy if you will. Just Google "Labour 25" & you may be shocked at just how many politicians in my country have been convicted & when released are welcomed back into the party by their mates with open arms & no further consequences, huh no wonder they call them parties hey?
Have a good day & all the best ❤

I went to school with her back then. She was a nice girl. There is a memorial for her at the local public pool now that the family had made with the money that was supposed to go to the reward for information, I think. A pavilion and a stone with an engraved plate on it is at the pool, and there have been candlelight walks and other types of memorials. Thank you, Dr. Grande. Could you analyze the case of the 14-year-old Indigenous girl who disappeared recently and was found at Camp Pendleton. One Marine has been arrested, as I understand. Security allowed her to be brought on base, where she was human trafficked. Her trauma needs attention, and those involved, punished. Camp leadership is blaming her and has called her an "underage prostitute." A 14-year-old cannot give consent. Her abuse is horrific.

As practical as that sounds, I unfortunately see a flaw with this plan.
Your child may use their newfound skills to harm INNOCENT people, maliciously or otherwise. A non-malicious example would be is if someone tried to hug them, whether they be an adult or another child, and they mistake it for a kidnapping attempt. You might want to teach your kid what constitutes a kidnapping attempt and what doesn't. However, if your child is a bully, has anger problems, and/or is outright evil, expect their victim count to multiply. Worse, s/he may LIE about a kidnapping attempt afterwards if caught.
How would you address this? Would you warn that there will be consequences (that actually hurt and you plan on enforcing) for hurting the wrong person?

you say that, but there's plenty of cases where the perpetrator was not the one the police took into custody. the point of bail is to make sure they are nearby for the court case. it's also to make sure a defendant can maintain their freedom while on trial.
everyone has a right to a fair trial, even if you personally think they're guilty or not guilty. so even if it seems pretty obvious they did it (like in this case), they are not guilty until proven so beyond a reasonable doubt by a jury.

I’m a friend of Shauna’s mother and she is still blaming herself, she loved her daughter so very much. I’ll call her Mary as I don’t want to post her name. Mary was working and didn’t actually forget to make arrangements for Shauna, someone had always in the past taken Shauna home after the Girl Scout meetings. As an aside, my daughter was in the same troop. Right before the meeting/Halloween party ended, Mary remembered at the last minute that the lady wasn’t able to give Shauna a ride home. Mary was still at work, but she called where the party had taken place but Shauna and her friend had already left. When they found Shauna’s body, Mary’s brothers went to identify her as Mary was barely functioning. Due to the incompetency of the police department, Mary and her family moved away to another state for several years. They moved back about 8 years ago and Mary worked until last year and had to quit due to health issues. I don’t know for sure but I believe they were due to ongoing grief and self-blame. My heart always hurt for the family and Mary continued to punish herself.

I'm from the area and grew up hearing this story, especially around Halloween. Shauna Howe is beloved and celebrated to this day. I can confidently say that the ONLY reason this case wasn't solved is because of Oil City PD. When someone envisions this area, you cannot believe how small this area is truly is. That car would have been extremely unusal and known at the time to belong to this man because the pizza shop he worked at was located right in the tiny "downtown". Adults also told kids to STAY AWAY from the O'brian brothers because they were that creepy. When we did trick-or-treat, we always skipped their house. There are many murders in this area that have gone unsolved, even recently with modern DNA and forensics. It's dissapointing that adults in this area knew how disturbed these men were and the police didn't even sneeze in their direction because they couldn't be bothered to check if these men were out of jail at the time or investigate easily identifiable aspects of this case. God bless the Howe family. Because of their pain, parents woke up a little bit and realized not everyone is safe to be around your children.

James O'brien was in state prison at the time of his arrest in this case. As noted in the video, he attempted to put a young lady in the trunk of his car, but he told other inmates he was locked up for robbery. James was conspicuously loud and confrontive with pedophiles in prison, far more so than is customary among inmates, and he made his contempt for them clear to everyone in earshot. This is peculiar, given some years before he and his brother had raped and murdered an 11-year-old girl. I believe that Ted Walker was simply a hapless participant who associated with the brothers for a vicarious sense of being tough and dangerous, however perverse that may seem, and he went along with the "prank" in order to be a part of their clique. He only realized how dreadful the situation was after it was too late. What really broke the case was when Timothy O'brien disclosed (bragged) about his part in the crime to a cellmate during a lockdown.

The O'Brien brothers' trials were held in Indiana County, PA, 87 miles from Oil City. The residents of Venango County (where Oil City is located), plus all surrounding counties, were thought to be too biased towards the O'Briens to give them a fair trial.

Dr. Grande I know this video is two weeks old so I really hope you see this. I've been subscribed to your channel soon after it's conceptualization but I've been limiting my consumption of media recently. I am familiar with this case and many other topics you cover, I was wondering if you could make a video explaining how and what young children (or someone of any age for that matter) should do if they're approached by a stranger(s)
I know stranger abduction is exceedingly rare but let's eliminate it even further!

@@davhot4107 I had this exact experience while walking to the store one day. Was a van with 2 guys in it. The guy in the back asked where I was going, I told him. He asked what I'm going to buy, I told him. Then he's like "no need to walk all the way to the store, we've got Twix right here".

I can't imagine what the mother went (is going) through due to neglecting to arrange a ride for her daughter. The rape/murder is not her fault but she probably feels some fault for it. So in addition to the natural grief of losing a child her suffering is compounded. She is also a victim of the crimes.

There was a TV show back awhile where retired court people and local police tried to solve or prove Cold Cases and it was filmed to make a show. They had aboard they worked off of so they could see what had been done then additional steps were listed beside then added to the board. That way one person assuming incorrect something and voicing that would not trip up an investigation. Sounds like a good way to work. Everyone can see and contribute. We like to think we have ticked all boxes of a problem we were researching but sooner or later each of us overlooks something important and colleagues are used to being supportive and take the "lead guys" word all the ducks are in a row.

Interesting how people will say that we should let our kids out to play and nostalgically remember how they used to just have to be home when the street lights go on and how kids should not be so stuck to their video games, etc. I believe kids are addicted to video games, and I think that should be addressed, but dang, letting kids go out to play is like playing Russian roulette with two at the ready.

Not if the kids are properly supervised. I'm surprised the school let her walk home. One time my Mom was a few minutes late ( her watch had stopped) from picking me up from 1st grade. The public school left me on the sidewalk alone. My Mom was so furious she immediately enrolled me in catholic school because they would never leave a child outside.
