Thank you for video. Just had surgery on my ankle 2 weeks ago. The Dr. Will be taking off cast next Tuesday, to replace with walking boot. I can’t wait until I’m able to start doing weight bearing.. thanks again. Very nicely done.
Great exercises. Could I get a list of these excersies? I have had foot reconstruction and then another surgery to repaired a severed tendon and ligament. I'm 100% weight bearing with my boot. Love these excersies.
I wish I had done this when I had on a cast because non-weightbearing for too long led to my bone density dropping. The stirrup on my cast caused problems on my one side due to it being hiked up higher than the other leg.
Wow I’m in love with you. Thank you for making this. My surgeon only told me to try to practice picking up a towel. Trying to transition to weight bearing activity has felt like trying to walk with a blueberry for a foot 😅
Weight shift left to right Weight shift forward to backward with booted foot behind Switch to booted foot in front, shift weight back and forth Lift booted foot, front side and back. Do the other side if not too painful. Rock forward and backward on your feet without the boot, in supportive shoes Sit on the edge of chair, get up and pretend to sit back down but only touch the chair and stand back up. Squeeze your glutes 2 sets of 10 times each exercise.
Thank you! i had to have surgery on my ankle and am now just started to be partial weight bearing, but cant walk with crutches and have to wait a couple weeks for my first pt appointment
Do exercises without weight Put your broken ankle onto a chair for support whilst sitting or do exercises on your bed, then pull toes up and stretch them. also tighten the back of your leg muscles by tensing them up, which helps strengthen legs for standing. You can also pivot your foot towards your good foot, and try to pivot with your broken ankle away from your good foot. I did these exercises in my plaster when swelling had gone down. I walked so quickly the physio couldn’t believe it. This was without a boot, or crutches. Im72.
I am on my boot for two weeks now for non weight bearing now. I am still having pain and swelling since my surgery on my foot and ankle for almost 11 weeks now. I have not seen my PT yet
Thank you for the video . Is there anything recommended for people who had big toe fusion on both feet . Had mine done 7 weeks apart , weight bearing in surgical sandal from day 1 . The issue , we can’t be on our toes . Thank you
Hi! Can you do this without the boot? My doctor didn't tell me to use/get a boot but told me I can start putting weight on my operated ankle and to do normal walking already. Hope you'll answer, thank you!
People watching this... If you've had ORIF... Google early weight bearing vs delayed weight bearing post-ORIF. Some of you will need to be non weight bearing, but many of you, the science says weight bearing immediately post OP is fine!!

Thank you so much. This is useful for me. I am only shown one exercise per week with my air-cast boots. This is really handy 😊
Thank you so much for your beautifully demonstrated exercises! I feel so much more comfortable with these in my tool kit!
this was crazy useful, just got off the aircast and these workouts feel GREAT!!
Your videos are helping me so much with my ankle surgery i have rods ands screws

Should I try to bare weight if my foot won't lay flat in my boot? My doctor told me not to force it. I start Physical Therapy this week.
