I actually love winter training. The summer is when I take breaks because I don’t do well in the heat.

Yes the break is best during your personal low season

Commented yesterday and successfully ran a slow 5 miles today because of your video and that inspiring talk. I ran 5 miles in 47:39 - 9:32 per mile. Normally I run between 8:00-8:45 per mile. Felt soooooo fabulous to run EASY!!! I am also an intermediate/advanced cyclist and I have to also learn not to go so fast in each ride. Although I will be doing my first century ride in 2024, I am using November - February to keep up my athleticism and endurance but not increase. This is why races both for cycling and running are from May-October. I live in Michigan and we don't have any leaves left but still find a ton of beauty out there!

Perfect timing for this topic. I typically don't run much in winter and avoid it completely if there is snow.

Hey, don't quit entirely! There can be a still beauty in running on a crisp winter morning. Just take it slow.
