Ok, after watching a dozen or so red carpet videos by HauteLeMode, here are the rules one must follow to achieve a high rating: -fit must be PERFECTION. No wrinkles, crinkles, bunching, or bagginess. Men's trousers must break at exactly 1/8th. Dresses *can* pool slightly on the floor, if the fabric has sufficient fluidity. If stiffer, the hem must barely touch the floor, hiding the shoes. -Most shoes are offensive. Hide them. -Entire outfit must be all one color. If using multiple fabrics/textiles/mediums, they must be dyed to match EXACTLY. -NO BELTS -if you have a hem at the waistline that you need to cover up with a belt, you've already made a mistake. Sometimes this can be fixed if you create a belt with the same fabric as the dress, but in a way that it doesn't actually *look* like a belt. -If you're wearing ANY kind of headpiece, you automatically get extra credit points
_"i'm bored of the jenners"_ We all are. They were never interesting or talented people, and yet they've been shoved down our throats ad nauseam for over a decade now. It's that "Everything I know about the Kardashians/Jenners I learned against my will" tweet...
My absolute pet peeve is how so many cups don't fit the bust! Megan's dress was really pretty, but _my god_ that cup was made for someone with maximum half of the bust Megan has and it looks so uncomfortable and it makes me sad for her.
Thank you! I think Luke ofter misses this aspect of fitting and I'm not sure why since he's obsessed with fitting to the waist and hips and even trousers and sleeves not wrinkling!
For me (a biology major who knows nothing about fashion) I think the lack of accessorizing is what kills all the dresses. Some of the best dressed for me (meg the stallion and Megan fox) both had some sort of jewelry on lol. For the dresses that show a lot of skin, maybe like loose waist chains or something more visually interesting. A gaudy necklace. A tiara. Something, anything. Some of the plain silk dresses in particular would look darling with some embellished cuff bracelets or some sort of gaudy over the top necklace that’s like a “met gala” piece. Like where are the the 2 million $ jewels at? I think it’s just become so boring. And idk if it’s because the celebs wear designers and the designers purposefully make the dress not be overshadowed by other pieces but surely the dress would make even more of an impact with a fully accessorized “finished” look. Also the shoes are a tragedy. Some of the Metallic looks could be pulled together with the shoes and the outfits that hit the ground and seem unfitted would be pulled together and look more elegant and fitted, even if they’re slouchy and meant to be. what a flop lol
@@MothGirl007 I feel not wearing jewelries (in an elegant way, not a frumpy way) demonstrates confidence and competence. Take the late Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, the closest thing to an American princess, as an example. She barely wore any accessories, which sort of convinces you that she herself was the most precious gem and she had the extreme depth, and it was John Kennedy Jr's luck to have met her (and John Kennedy Jr did feel this way and love her madly). If she wore lots of jewelries, you'd immediately see her as a gold-digger. Or if she were born very rich and wore lots of jewelries, you'd see her as shallow and superficial. And take Audrey Hepburn. She had many pictures both with and without jewelries. But the most timeless and memorable pics of her are the ones without, in which her eyes were so striking and unforgettable. Zoe Saldana's chain mail top is actually solid gold and made by Cartier out of 67000 thousand pieces and onyx tassels. Took them over two years to create this

First time I’ve ever seen him praise Olivia Rodrigo what a moment
I love your channel. I’m so interested in fashion and I love the way your describe outfits and details and the meaning behind them. I’ve learnt so much from you! X
Is there a reason people don't wear really eccentric jewels? The one girl in the not too exciting black dress looked like it was screaming for some great big million dollars necklace. I love jewels. What other setting than something like this would you ever get to wear them?
1:15 why does that dress remind me of all our girlies with different sized girls LOL. The weird wonky and top heavy, but rly side heavy comments -
had me like “hey! Our tatas can’t help it, be nice to them” lol 😢😂😂
“Rita Ora / Bebe Rexha, what are you doing in here?” Is a HauteleMode tradition and I can’t live without it
Every time I see Megan’s look, it takes my breath away
Luke Marr I love your intro track,it’s so soothing
Rita Ora's dress looked even better in movement is something to be admire real time
I have never been this early! So excited
Your glasses look great bth you should rock them more often just my opinion. Love your videos. So much fun interesting information
the top of megan fox’s dress looks like mittens, obsessed
Ok last comment
Can't stand the Jenner's and Kardashians but I personally loved Kendalls dress
Me too! She looked gorgeous! For me she was the best dressed ❤
i liked the dress too but i get Luke’s point of it being blah for JPG archive..along with Kylie bc Margiela/galiano usually has way more exciting looks. and the karjenners always choose the blah looks
Beautiful dress but boring look you can literally photoshop her in any dress and it would fit, that’s sad for such a beautiful dress
I think it was spectacular in person - seeing the dress glow and shimmer under lighting would be amazing.
I don’t think they’re any better or worse than any other wealthy, out of touch people. I hear Anna Kendrick can also be very rude
That Manu Rios guy just used a cosplay of any male kpop idol 😂 just put some over the top make up and jewerly, chains... and it's done. Oh! And some contacts
Can you review the era's tour outfits day 1.. ?? She opened the tour with a Versace outfit
Kylie dress looks like an ultrasound to me 😂
Yasss my king posted
Could you do a version where on some of the people you show what you might put them in?
I really liked Kylie’s dress. I thought the color was magical
When you said about the Kate Hudson - ‘the composition needs some work’ what does that mean? Is it to do with what you were saying about the asymmetry? Love your channel!
Please do a “Best of all Time” video series! Best Met Gala looks, best designer eras, best dresses of all time.
i liked marion cotillards silver version of kendalls dress, which she wore when she won her first oscar.
Not me criticising these looks with you, while frying garlic for pasta and snacking on frozen blueberries
Meghan thee stallion definitely had the best look, she was the belle of that damn ball 😍😂
All I can think is that Rita Ora KNOWS how to network. Not gonna lie I stan that sort of know how
Sus Naomi KILLED IT. And that Boring The House as usual OR in Valentino for David's Bridal Couture 😆 🤣 😂
"something Gianni Versace would've done..." so Donatella did... and has turned out incredible work for almost 2 decades now
Went over to see the Wiederhoeft site and full show right away after seeing the dress on Rita, and wow!!! - a little Tom Brown in there, but wow! So many looks that I would love to wear, if I had the occasions… but will take little elements into my plans. But the tailoring, the pants, the corsets, old glamour meets …something! ❤
the vanity fair sticker on the carpet being all messed up is sending me
Hey Luke - have you ever thought about using some sort of tablet and pencil set up in your videos as almost like a visual aid? I think that would be super cool. Also ROONEY MARA... a vision. an icon.
So well researched and thoughtful. I enjoy your comments even if I don’t agree.
