It's so refreshing to hear someone's commentary on fashion that's not sexist, biased, or fat-phobic. I feel like so often people see something terrible on a skinny body and they say it's fabulous, when it so clearly is not. More tailored to fit pieces for plus sized bodies please! It's 2023 let's go.
I'm enjoying both Luke and Joan. Yes she was sometimes mean but she never intended to be mean, the point was to be accurate through jokes while being hyperbolic. I'm so done with the political correctness cancel culture.
I have to say, HauteLeMode is the ONLY one in the world who should be allowed to be on television commenting about fashion. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable, has excellent taste, he's fair, and has flair in his descriptions. I absolutely love this channel! And the weird part is, I'm not one who usually cares about fashion. Thank you!!!
I hate how he over uses "in reality, the dress is...." (like, what does that even mean? what do you mean in reality? where else? in imaginationland?) and "a sort of" (is it a sleeve, or a sort of sleeve? is it a cape or a sort of cape?), but otherwise he is fun to listen to.
@@Exorcist364xs The dress's fantastic, but Ana didn't wear it. It wore her. She became the plain, boring dummy barbie to demonstrate a fantastic dress. Thank you Gigi Hadid for showing us that sexy does not have to equate half naked, and thank you Zac Posen, for showing us the art and craftsmanship that fashion can be.
Jodie Turner-Smith just wowed me with that gown in her statuesque frame. Ana dress was indeed like a Tiffany lamp and so lovely. Love Billy Eilish's entire look. Cara Delavigne looked fastastic on both the "beige" carpet and the Vanity Fair carpet. And for men, Donald Glover is ALWAYS serving top-notch, modern men's ensembles. He never disappoints...

I was thinking he looked like he was gonna park someone's car, and it felt like a letdown because I've liked a lot of his looks recently. This just felt not sleek, not well put together.
Am I the only person old enough to remember the old-school Vanity Fair parties? The point was to change into a MORE comfortable outfit than your Oscars gown. LOL... times have changed
I wonder what it is like in the party itself with all these voluminous dresses or even the hobbling mermaid outfits, do they all change immediately into comfy stretchy dresses or slacks? I LOVE watching these dresses go by and love your commentary, cut in a way it is just like a runway. I cant imagine half these women wearing these outfits while they drink and dance.
I think that's kind of what Florence Pugh and possibly Billie Eilish were going for - a huge coat or overgown that has Presence on the carpet, but then easily removed and handed off to a stylist for Easy Party Movement.
Wow, thank you for making this connection, I kinda liked the look and the color of the gloves, it gave a nice pop of color and contrast to the dress. But to me the shoes could have been different.
I always find myself drawn to the looks that seem very comfortable and still manage to pull off high fashion. I think I always consider how I would want to feel on the red carpet, lol.

Hunter Schafer looks like a statue of a Greek goddess. She is truly ‘wearing the garment’ by using it to emphasize her artful body. She looks stunning and strong, I love it.
Ana de Armas' dress is ❤😘 absolutely beautiful and looks amazing on her!🌟P.S. I would totally wear Donald Glover' jumpsuit, I think it's a fun take on wearing a suit!❤❤
OMG Cara Delevinge is killing the game!!! She looks stunning it looks like it’s it was seen into her body I love the white on one side and then the skin tone on the other. She looks like she’s playing a goddess in a film.
I am learning so much watching your channel! I now pause the video at each outfit and decide how I feel about it before hearing your opinion...I am finding myself agreeing more often now 😂 I am seeing a difference in how I view the draping, accessories, etc. Thanks for sharing!!
Re the boning on the outside of a dress (such as that worn by Hilary Duff), I SO agree with you! I detest boning on the outside; it used to be on the inside of strapless dresses in order to hold them up in place. On Jamie Lee’s dress, the boning (front and back) reminded me of a back brace and ruined the look. I also dislike see-through dresses because the “fashion” part of the dress simply does not show … all one sees is a bra and panty and the design is just visually lost! 🤷♀️ Cara looked simply stunning in her red Oscar dress and her beautiful post-Oscar party dress. Halle Berry usually ‘knocks it out of the park’ but this year, not so much. I disliked that short black dress and the white/cream Oscar dress would have looked better without all the pink flowers, in my opinion, of course.
I did not like Hunter’s dress at all. I feel like it wasn’t really a dress. I love a nude look but I stand by my opinion but that’s just me. But I loved Ana’s stained glass dress the most! She won the after party! I also really love the liquid sequin dresses LOVE them!!

Cold shoulders are coming back??? They never left the fast fashion stores 😭 I'm so sick of otherwise lovely shirts and dresses being ruined by these cheap looking cold shoulders!
The cold shoulder gives the illusion that they wear long black gloves, but I dont find them comfortable and a bit confusing when you put on the top, the arm can go through it and miss the sleeve.
I love Tiffany Lamps, too. It's the first thing that popped into my head, I'm so glad I'm not alone! An original lamp is pretty hard to come by here in Melbourne!
