Federal ministers announce emissions cap on energy sector - November 4, 2024

On Parliament Hill, Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault and Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson announce the federal government’s plan to limit greenhouse gas emissions from the oil and gas industry. The draft rules will require the sector to cut emissions 35% below 2019 levels.
The ministers are joined at the news conference by Employment Minister Randy Boissonnault and parliamentary secretary to the minister of environment and climate change Julie Dabrusin.
