I was hoping we could just unlock the iPad and "access" it to continue to use it without loosing any data. But turns out this is just how to do factory reset on a locked iPad which should have been the title and saved me 10 minutes. But I do thank you for taking the time to make the video to help us.
Just got an iPad 9 gen. Went through every procedure to start it. But after locking the device it was not opening ,was showing invalid fingerprint and password was not matching. But after this tutorial my iPad is fixed now. Thank you very much

Just taking a moment to say that this still works. Also, as a user in IT, let me recommend using the link in the textbox for a firmware download. The link does to the cdn-apple website, which when checked through whois (a system for verifying domain registration information), goes directly through Apple's servers and is managed by Apple. That would be the safest way to ensure you get the right file without modifications. In my use case, this resolved an issue with the iPad 7th Gen Wi-Fi+Cellular model (A2200).

I had a problem with itunes not displaying a restore option. After trying 2 cables and reinstalling itunes twice, I went into device manager with my ipad 2 plugged in and noticed that the apple mobile device usb driver was not correct so I simply used windows update and it identified the correct driver, installed and viola, I was greeted with the restore prompt! Thanks for the video!

wth what are these comments?! if you have macOS Catalina you don’t have to download any website like he’s telling you! you just put the ipad in restore mode and the option to restore your ipad will automatically pop up on your mac !! worked perfectly for me
