I have the gen 9th. I forgot the passcode and locked out for an hr at a time. I tried iTunes and easing to find my iPhone not working; any idea how I can fix just got today put what I thought because it asked me to put in my iPhone code, but it didn't work.

Hi there, My mum has forgoten everything to do with her account, Only things she knows is her email and her phone number linked to the ipad air 2. I tried your method to try and reset it but its saying ipad locked to owner. Is there any way to fix this? Her grandaughter set it up for her and she does not know the details so can't even access email. Thanks

I tried this but it gave me an error! Downloaded the green-lit firmware. When I try to open it, it says the app is not available in my country or region. I'm in the U.S. Any ideas? I'm on a MAC laptop.

I am using an HP Chromebook x360 and when I download itunes I get an error stating the software is not compatible. if you could offer some assistance to overcome this, I would greatly appreciate your time. thanks Daniel as a old person me and tech 😂😫😡 i did what you said i write steps down on paper .but i did had to re down load the soft were i think i ended it to soon so i started to stress when i seen the your locked out 3hrs . so i had a beer lol. and started the process again and it worked so thanks . i have to say samsung and windows you get a email link to get in . just think if this happens when your overseas you lot every thing no credit card , what a scary thought 😳😳😳

Once it’s downloaded you say to relocate the file to the Home Screen. But it doesn’t work. For me. Can’t drag and drop the file. So I’m stuck.

This is incorrect information.
After doing your process which is just basically a restore, you STILL have the same issue.
Yes you can set it up again and select a new passcode blah blah, but when you go to RESTORE from an iCloud backup, it asks you for your PREVIOUS passcode to authenticate. So this is not a fix.

You can literally use any computer for this." - Ever heard of Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Slackware, Red Hat, Fedora, or any of the other hundreds or thousands of distributions)? UNIX? BSD? Chromebook? Any version of Windows prior to Windows 7? There are many computers out there that do not run MacOS or Windows and there are still many computers that run versions of Windows older than Windows 7, so no, this will NOT work on and is NOT compatible with ALL computers. I understand and appreciate that you're trying to be helpful, but the information is helpful only when it is accurate.

I am confused, so all these steps and why go to ipsw and download the file and go threw all those steps if you can just simply turn on itunes and restore it since anyways you will loose everything and then get it back with your backup? wouldn't it save you so much effort just doing that right off the back with itrunes and not needing to go threw all those other things?

Does this usually take forever. Mine pulled up the apple logo and in a bit went black again. This is what my computer is saying and has been for about 39 min. Status bar says ... preparing iPad for restore...

Just so you know the website is advising you to use as a distributor of malware if you don’t know what that is it’s a virus
none of these softwares worked, Safari couldn't even connect with the webpages on some parts where you have to register or try to skip registering. the software just hangs on my MacBook and I can't get any response, :(
