hi bro , i used iphone 4s in Singapore and then i formatted everything in the Iphone. i give to my brother . he is live in India. when he was activate the phone he can't make & receive call but he can text . i want to know problem is in phone or Network provider??
It'll be an issue with your Wi-Fi router or the password you entered. Make sure you use capitals if that's how the password is printed on the router, and make sure you entering the WEP Key/Network Key/Security Key/Passphrase.

Ours was purchased SIM-free from Apple. No Service means you're not getting any reception from your mobile network, so you'll need to give them a call and get them to look into it

well I understand your opinion but I have a different look on it and in Belgium a standard 4S cost 630 euro, i bought mine from an action(limited) for 530 euro and if the 5 comes out I don't think it will be less than 630/650 :) And after a few years I can eventually buy the 5 for less :p As I say, everybody has his own view on it
Just had a bad experience with this Apple I'D thing 2 weeks ago. After deleting data, the phone asks to be re-activated again using the original Apple I'D it was setup with the first time. I have to return the used iPhone 4s to the vendor. Now I bought another used iPhone 4s from another shop without getting the original Apple ID.
I like this , so if I got that right Siri can do all the work of texting ? To save your thumbs 😁

Do you mean can you make a hands-free call on your iPhone to another phone like the Xperia X8? If so, you can! that should work with any phone.

You can either request a Micro SIM instead from your network provider, or purchase a Micro SIM cutting tool!
It will be there, attached inside the white card booklet inside the box!

@supistiaque You will need a Micro SIM but if you are looking to commit to a iPhone you can either buy a Micro SIM Adapter (cutting your current SIM card smaller) or contact your network for a replacement.
You'll need to charge it for around 10-12 hours, ideally overnight.
just wait for iPhone 5 it comes out september 21st it will be alot better then 4S not that 4S isnt good but with iPhone 5 it will run on 4G LTE according to rumors and it will be the same price point as when iPhone 4S came out

There should be one in every box, but if there isn't then you can use a pin or paperclip :-)
If you buy the phone on contract or pay as you go, you should get a SIM card with it. However, if you buy the phone 'SIM-Free' you will just get the phone.
You do realise that when you typed the password in for your network. Everyone saw the password that you typed in and your network so therefore someone who is smart enough, would be able to get into your network using your network name and password and use your wifi .

when it says activating it fails so i tried connecting it with itunes and it still failed so what dod i do it says activtaion surver tempeorily unavalble

connect to itunes so download the itunes that your 4s supports and then connect. Easy

Your network should give you the choice of SIM, Micro SIM and Nano SIM. Just call them and ask!

now its officially downgradable just go to ipsw and download the signed ios 6.1.3 and use itunes to restore on any iphone 4s
im already regretting getting a 4S and not waiting til iPhone 5 :( oh well can't get one now since i signed 3 year contract i have to wait til July 2014 before i can upgrade so i will probaly upgrade to thenext generation iPhone after the iPhone 5 i do like the 4S though its just if i had waited i would have gotten an even better iPhone i just didnt want a Blackberry anymore cuse i had no Data on it and it was really slow
