  • Want to know what a behavioral interview might look like for a PM role?
Behavioral interviews are possibly the most important type of interview to get really good at if you're interviewing for a product manager role. Odds are, you'll have to do at least three or four different behavioral interviews during a single interview process, so it's good to practice beforehand so that you are super confident when the interview begins.

Only disappointment is that all examples were given from the perspective of "I already have a PM job"
Would like to see the same for someone coming from marketing or fresh out of a notable certificate program... NOT an engineer or designer because they work too closely with PMs already so this video is good enough for transitioning from those roles

There aren't many quality mock behavioral interview examples on TH-cam...this one takes the cake for being the best! Loved the insights in between each answer. Keep up the good work !

Your videos are giving me a lot of confidence. I have been discouraged by pursuing product roles because I don’t have any specific product past experience, but my relevant experience in strategy, operations, and marketing can tell a great story of how I can leverage these experiences to be a great PM. Thank you so much for your videos!

Thank you for the insight Alisa. I think I would enjoy the video even more if you should dig deeper into the prioritization bit, what's the rationale behind, what's the framework to apply and how to balance your own imperatives with external events/feedback, making tradeoffs decisions etc.

Good use of the framework already described in the book "Cracking the PM interview". Everything went so smooth, that's a little unbelievable given its a PM role

Hello Alisa, this video was really helpful to me. I simply watched this video & 1 more video of yours “PM with no experience” & cracked my 1st round of interview. My first round was main round of the interview.
    Thanks a lot !

awesome I this will really. help me in my upcoming interviews Thanks! I see using technical words and use of proffessinal words is very important rather than taking another sentence to explain it which can only be done using a single word thats great. awesome would want have many such time of questions really appreciate this video.

Great content, and not just for Product-specific interviews. I wish I listened to this type of advice earlier in my career, though it still resonates today (even though this advice comes from my daughter :) ).

Excellent example, really enjoyed the storylines and how efficient you were with your answers. Particularly liked your self-reflection about noticing how often you said "we" and that you'd recommend focusing more on "I."
I'm curious, during the last few minutes when its your turn to ask questions of the interviewer, what do you think are some of the most insightful questions to ask? Given who you are speaking to and what stage of the interview process this is, I imagine your question(s) to the interviewer should relate mainly to what to expect from the "atmosphere" at the company? Trying to think of how best to make it behavioral without getting a boilerplate response

There is not a lot of content with real time examples to get a sense of how to answer behavioral questions expect for videos which just talk about STAR method and nothing more. You are the first to dive into this space. Hoping to see more of the behavioral content with examples!

My only question for you is this: Have you encountered any conflict or friction from the company where you currently work regarding your TH-cam presence and your job? it would seem obvious that some folks for which you currently work have seen you on TH-cam and are wondering if there is a "conflict" of interest. Probably not, but I am wondering.

Alisa, this mock interview is good, but prioritization discussion should have some data to support the decision. For example what was the original value, impact on customers, revenue etc on what basis that was prioritized. There is lot of subjectivity.
