The 2022 Classique - Team Awesome Players.

- Every year the Classique is the biggest off-road event for the dual sport crowd in Canada. It is also one the earliest in the season so it is a great way to get going. This year team Awesome Players had some familiar faces like Riley on his Husqvarna 701 , Fred on the Honda CRF250L and Marc on his Yamaha T7. We also had some new faces. Jean-Marc on a KTM 350EXC, Patrick on a CRF300L, Marc #2 on his T7, Sebastien on yet another T7, Chuck on a big KTM 1090 Adventure and finally Pierre-Felix on the very popular Yamaha T7. Player Ivan lead another team on the Big Bertha route which was tougher than the Intrepid route Riley was leading. Rain before the event meant that some sections were really muddy. We didn't complete the route but certainly put in a good effort considering the heat and trail conditions. Soon after we got back to camp a freak storm hit. Crazy wind and rain. Luckily we were on the edge of the strongest part of the storm. Lots of poles down, damaged homes and businesses. Sadly at least 10 people died who were in the direct path of this freak event. Special thanks to Marc Chartrand and the rest of the volunteers for all their hard work. This year for the first time Harley Davidson was the primary sponsor of the event. Thanks Harley!

We had a great ride but the Sunday rides were effected. Also sad that the big dinners on Saturday and Sunday night never happened at restaurant Top Shot.
Cool and fun video. I really enjoy off roading with my GS 850, but I don't have a nice group like that.
I only knew about half the folks on my team. Try to find some local events as they are a great way to meet other riders.
All that KTM orange turning brown! You still got it Riley ,you can still climb those hills.
Sometimes slow and steady does work. Lots of clutch use.

Luckily nothing too bad happened to you guys, but i really feel sorry for those who haven't been that lucky :/ On that Hill the Tenere was douche roped.. Would it have been possible to ride it up with other tires or was it really a limiting hill for the heavy bikes? :) i am wondering because i am planning on buying one too! Part of it was choosing the right line. Always harder to keep the bigs on track. Also a lot easier just spin the tires. Modulating power with the clutch on these climbs is key. T7 is a great machine and you will love it.

Marc always brings a certain flair to any event.
Glad you managed to brave the storm with no major consequences. Many of my friends in Ottawa were not so lucky. Our old cottage at Lake Louisa survived intact but new Dep and gas station on the road up was not so lucky. You guys dodged a bullet. Happy you enjoyed yourselves.
It was sad to see all the destruction. Two of our team members were lucky that their homes nearby weren't severely damaged. Mother nature certainly gets the last word.
whew, what ride,
The traffic jam and heat really sucked a lot of energy out of the group. Was still fun in weird way to be stuck with bikes falling and spinning their tires everywhere.

It was. Some moments when we got a little discouraged but overcoming those obstacles makes the post ride beer taste a lot better.

The next day we were looking at Fred's bike and noticed one side was very clean, the other caked in mud.

Looks like an amazing event. Very jealous that you can have such beautiful scenery to mess about on.
It is a great event and was sorely missed the last two years. Some riding areas weren't available to us this year but the organizers still managed to put 5 different routes from easy to extreme.
Very nice guys! Always nice to get the yearly update on the Classique. Is there more to come?
