- This is how I made a pocket hammer trick lock with an automatic latch mechanism.

The nerdy creativity here is incredible. Also it was weirdly shocking to see wood on this channel I’m so used to only seeing metal haha
I love seeing wood on metal/machining channels - happens occasionally on MyMechanics and a few others. It's hilarious to me how they all seem to just treat it as some sort of weird squishy metal, textbook case of "when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail".
For the most part it works ok, and at the end of the day (much like angle grinders after welding) sandpaper and a durable finish will cover any multitude of sins😉
I had to laugh in the last scene. I imagined myself trying like crazy to pull the hammer away. Confused at first. Then amazed. Then curious.
I would have concluded that I had no chance without Odin's help. Respect. Good work, keep going!

I was confused when you installed the o-ring at the base of the handle, but it suddenly made perfect sense when you showed how the lock operates, also explains why only the central gear sits on a thrust bearing
It's not possible to make this better than what you did.

I imagine he'd say something about the toolbox "locking mechanism"... I mean... it looks like this amazing awesome as fuck hammer would break a lot later than the little red hinge on the box if you were to pull.

Hey! Do you think you could make a tiny juice press with the tiny hydraulic jack you made? I saw max maker make a a regular sized one with a 5 ton jack and I thought it would be fun to watch a mini one, maybe you could use it to crush an almond or smthn :)

Over building a simple magnetic lock seems to be a massive waste of time that could be well spent doing something useful like getting a haircut unless it's for mass production and to sell to the masses who spend their time being productive

You should find a box that need a lock on a horizontal surface, so that it looks like the hammer cannot be lifted.
