      Contact Texas Pride Trailers and see if they won't sponsor you a custom built trailer. They've done it for several TH-cam car channels. And they also give the viewers a chance to win a new trailer. It's in Texas of course but a sponsored trailer and a free giveaway sweepstakes is worth the drive I would think.

    Flair, I pull a 36' gooseneck with my Ram 3500 everyday and haul heavy equipment. My advice is to always keep a decent amount of weight on the nose of the trailer in front of the trailer axles. Most of the weight needs to be over the trailer axles but if you don't put enough weight on the truck, it will chuck bad on the road to the point where you feel like you are riding a bull. You will find the sweet spot for your setup after you haul stuff for a while.

    One thing is definitely wider turns when you're turning left and definitely take longer on your right hand turns cuz if you cut it too short you're going to run over something! But as for centering the weight on the trailer as opposed to the axle and the tongue weight on the trailer I think you're pretty good on that! 👍

    I drove a semi for a little over 14 years OTR ... as far as loading , you will learn your equipment the more you do it , but your goal is to get the weight even over all the axels as close as you can . There is a lot of factors I don't know about yours so giving you good advice as to where to put it. Best way to figure it out is to have each axle on a scale and see how your weight distributes to see if you need to move it up or back .... you can pay 10 bucks at a truckstop to weigh and a dollar each reway (maybe more now not sure) the ticket gives you each axle weight ..but that depends if your axles are spread enough to hit each one .. at the least the trailer would be on its own ... usually if the trailer and truck are close to the same weight you want to put it as close to center between your rear axle on the truck and the front axle on the trailer .... but to be sure I would do the truckstop scale and just see how close you are .... after the first time you can usually guess fairly well where things need to be loaded if its one or 5 things ... just need to see how your setup balances the load .. too many factors to list really

    Definitely need the larger fuel tank, plus I’d throw in an auxiliary tank to fill the equipment when you’re in BFE. Maybe even a dual auxiliary tank that can hold both gasoline (for the side by side and any of your other stuff that takes gas) and diesel on the other for excavator, tractor, top the truck off if needed, etc.

    As far as truck mods go I’d say you should get wheels, an off-road bumper, LED lightbar, emissions delete for more power, reliability and fuel economy, as well as goodyear wrangler duratracs which are a great A/T tire and its what we run on our dually. I’d also recommend some fat mud flaps and a bumper mounted rock tamer to keep the mud and rocks off of your trailer. And you should probably get some seat covers to protect the leather and keep it clean lol

  • @colewhitehead3385
    @colewhitehead3385 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @austinwiedaman5765
    @austinwiedaman5765 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A few things to get better mpg is to delete it {its expensive as hell but it will pay off) after you delete it, tune it something along the lines of a economy and or a tow tune. Also I would do a cold air intake and a 4 or 5 inch straight pipe. It helps it breath better but if you don't at least delete it, the emissions system will slowly kill your engine. But if you do delete it warranty usually wont cover the pickup anymore.

    Love the new truck most definitely would put a bunper on the front if it's your tow pig alot of highway driving and back road hauling heavy load deer and other animals running out in front of you and other cars not being able to slow down as fast due to extra weight the bumper might save your truck in that case

    As long as the trucks suspension can handle the payload from what your pulling, you are better off having a majority of the weight in front of the axle when hauling.

One thing that would help you tremendously with fuel mileage on both your powerstroke and the L5P you can do emission compliant tuning if you don’t want to do egr delete and good tunes. Mine is tuned and deleted and I average 25mpg on the highway and 17 in city.

    If you want to keep your warranty, banks pedal monster is the best bang for the buck, then banks derringer with idash. Get a dual or triple gauge vent mount. The stabilizer steering kit is a must for bigger wheels. Then an banks exhuast so you dont burn up your trailer. Banks bigass intake is nice too. With that you can torch your tires at will.

  • @Johnnyb16
    @Johnnyb16 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    flair... I drive a flatbed for a living, ur center of ur trailer is half the distance between ur gooseneck hitch and the center of ur axels... if that makes sense... don't go off the center of the deck, and u will get a smooth ride by centering ur load between the axel and ur hitch so it will look further forward on the trailer.
