    I have a vw golf and although it’s a 1.0 engine it’s still really powerful at 110bhp can’t recommend the car enough, like he said it’s a fantastic all rounder and a dream to drive, I’ve even convinced my fam to consider a golf

      Really powerful🙄🤣🤣🤣

      @finsgutus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@NH-bz9jv I switched a 3.0 BMW for the 1.0 Golf and it's more fun to drive. Sure 120 to 250 km/h is better in a 3.0, but then again I mostly drive in the city and it's also illegal to go over 120 km/h in the entire country. Why it's so fun is the small turbo that gives pretty much full boost (and torque) from idle RPM to around 4000 RPM with basically no lag. This car mostly drives at 1200 - 2000 RPM, very smooth, very comfortable.
      If you want to drive at >5000 RPM and go over 200 km/h, get something else. If you want to drive on the public roads like a normal person (i.e., not a dumbass), the 1.0 Golf is an excellent choice. For track days you can always rent whatever you want and it's fun to try different cars there, none of which I would enjoy in traffic.

    nicely said..if you buy a golf, you dont need to explain anyone how good it is and why you bought it...lot of people talking trash about vw just because they cant afford it..

    Great review. I am currently in the process of buying a new c segment hatchback. And Golf is my choice. I didn't know much about cars and the C segment but after doing some research and hours of TH-cam reviews I have ramped up my knowledge to a decent level. And now I simply cannot understand why would anyone buy anything that is not a Golf in this category? Ok, Škoda Octavia is perhaps a good alternative for better practicality with larger boot and more rear legroom (at a price of slightly less overall comfort and quality) but any other hatchback from Kia Ceed or Hyundai I30 to Ford Focus and Opel Astra? Golf simply is a better car for the money and by quite a good margin. And contrary to a popular belief (which I admit I also had) Golf is NOT really more expensive than alternatives of other brands. You simply get better quality and more equipment for that extra 500 or 1000 Euros that you pay.

    Car shown in your video costs atleast 25100 eur without registration. You won't haggle this down to 20-21k eur at Estonian dealers. But you can get dealer cars with some mileage (5000-12000km) for 20.5-21.5k eur.
    Could you test drive new e-golf? Seems much more special.

    • @SilverhillDrives
      @SilverhillDrives  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback. I admit, 23k might have been slightly less than the sticker price, but it would have been at around 24k - i did mention all the safety features, but this car did not have them. The backup camera, auto AC, composition radio etc are as one package. From 23k to haggle to 21k is possible, from 24 to 21 might be difficult :) The E-Golf is on my list to drive!

      Crea Siry have you driven this engine? cause i did, with manual, on skoda octavia, and it is more than adequate for city driving. Of course, if you live in a city where speed limit is set tu 150KM/h this engine will struggle a little.

    Hello and thank you for your review. I have some questions for you.
    What's your opinion on the DSG gearbox. Is it smooth in shifting gears? How does it feel in the city, and would you get it if you would spec a new car.
    Thanks!

    First of all that's a good video for golf fans. I am also a new 2017 1.0 golf owner. My car has manuel transmission and it is comfortline too. Sorry for my ignorance, İn which country you prepared this video. Because here in Turkey comfortline is the highest limit for 1.0 engine golf and we don't have such a full Golf. These are all options for us. That means a lot of money...

    olen kuulnud et need väikestel mootoritel pole kuigi pikk eluiga, kui 1,9l versioonil on sissesõit 60 000 siis 1,0l versioonil ongi see eluiga?

    • @SilverhillDrives
      @SilverhillDrives  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ega see nüüd nii hull ka pole - loomulikult ei saa võrrleda suuremat (nt 3-4 liitrist) mootorit väiksemaga (1-1,4l), kuid 1.4 on juba pikemat aega VW grupis kasutusel ning suuremad probleemid puuduvad. Kuna 1.0l mootor on vägagi uus, siis vara on rääkida sellest, mis saab 10a pärast, kuid ma usldaksin Saksamaa insenere, et nad on selle peale mõelnud :) Igatahes uuest peast ostes ei pea midagi kartma - garantii on pikk ning vastavalt vajadusele saab seda ka juurde osta.

    Visibly, you are not partial.
    You cannot compare an HONDA Civic 10/11th with a similar generation Golf...
    I have just replaced my HONDA by a Leon (1.0TSI manual).
    It's an OK car, well built but the only advantage I see is the lengh of the car: just 4.26m long.
    The shakky 1.0 TSI engine is not comparable to the 1.0 Civic one; this last one is simply better.
    And I don't talk about the gearbox of the spanish "VW"...

      I've been driving the 1.0 Golf 7 DSG since 2015. Although the DSG in this car is the most PITA to maintain and has the most issues out of any modern DSG from VAG, I'm only having my first maintenance on the clutch pack now. You can make it last longer with a DSG tune that doesn't switch up so eagerly and spares the clutch and flywheel. Anyway over 9 years of no hassle. The engine is still in pristine condition with regular maintenance as prescribed by the manufacturer. Can't say the same of my previous BMW...
