Neal Brown may get fired this year, but it appeared his players never gave up and continued hustling.
WVU will not be last in the big 12 this year, and I think they're going to make me some $$$$ betting wise as well. I'm a PSU fan by the way.
Penn St left at least 10 points on the table with a sitter dropped by Ceaphus in the end zone and two easy FG missed. That’s the only reason why the game appeared to be closer than reality. Having said that, this WV team is much better than advertised and can shock a lot of folks in the B12 this year.
Lastly, at the end the *All due respect to Delaware* had me sold 😂😂😂
Dawg penn st missed 2 field goals and scored a garbage time td. Sounds to me like they cancel out.

Penn State only had 10 drives with 0 turnovers and 2 punts. WVU did a good job avoiding 3 and outs and leaning on their run game to bleed clock.
@@stevenselleck5460WVU will surprise a lot of B12 teams this year. They’re probably not going to play any team like this all year long and the fact that they were hanging in there at halftime (due to missed FGs in no small part) will give them confidence to assert themselves more. They need to trust their RBs more. Their O-Line and D-Lines are good.

Funny how no one is saying how FSU tan up the score while scoring with 1:26 left, while up 21, with their starters. But PSU runs out their backups vs wvu starters, and we still score after wvu uses all their timeouts, PSU is “running up the score”
PSU is good. WVU is better than expected. But WVU is NOT happy that this is what is better than expected. Neal will have a tall order for rest of season based on reaction of fan base

I think considering where the game was played and the opposition, West Virginia gave a credible performance! They will be better than the media and bookies gave them credit for in the pre-season especially considering pre-season rankings are a joke to begin with! What surprised me though was Pat McAfee acting as if West Virginia lost to Towson St or Stony Brook, trashing Neal Brown and predicting that the Mountaineers would go into State College and beat Penn State! I'm a diehard Nittany Lion fan (since 1980 when I was in grade school) and I get McAfee's passion for his alma mater but to bash WVU for their showing and basically taking a slap at Penn State as if they were a mediocre opponent! McAfee needs to be reminded this isn't Penn State circa 10 years ago! He needs to also remember it's only Week 1 and teams are still getting their feet wet! Off season is one thing! Actual games are another! I personally think West Virginia will surprise so Pat needs to chill JS! And also give Penn State some credit! They are way better than he's ignoring
Lets be honest the “Penn State ROLLS West Virginia” headline doesn’t apply to the whole game but instead just the 4th quarter. Remember it was a 14-7 game all the way until 5 min left to go in the 3rd quarter. WVU looked far better than advertised against a team that has playoff hopes this year. I think we talk differently about Allar if those 2 dropped picks are instead caught by the Mountaineers. Play calling was not great for the Mountaineers and not capitalizing on opportunities are what cost WVU from staying in this game up until 0:00. By the 4th quarter WVU’s defense just got tired and out talented by Penn State. Would love to have gotten a WVU assessment by Josh! Hopefully the “Once Upon A Saturday” tour makes a stop in Morgantown in week 3 for The Backyard Brawl!

Actually wvu played pretty good, a couple dropped interceptions this game would had been a 180. The wvu secondary is weak and upcoming games for our lions may be a different story. Let’s not get over confident
And there was a few dropped interceptions for PSU too. A dropped touchdown pass and two missed field goals. The game wasn’t close.
Lol headline should have read. WV played conservative on offense an defense an Penn st easily covered the spread. Actually that's exactly what happened.

Yup, he’s talented but he has to do it against real teams- not B12 teams who won’t make a bowl game
It's not the team that he beat, it's how he played the game! The way he avoided pressure by rolling out of the pocket, or stepping up in the pocket, all while keeping his eyes down field & scanning for multiple WRs that impressed folks. For his very first career start he looked good.
But it's not up to Drew Allar to defeat Ohio St or Michigan on his own! It's going to take a team effort! We need our DL to tighten up! We need big plays from our WRs,..and Penn St better fix their kicking game if they're going to compete on the big stage!

I’d worry about an ugly game getting Penn State. Some team that can play good enough defense to keep it close until the 4th, make a big play.. And win ugly. But… they did look good!

PSU’s run defense is suspect. That’s gonna be exploited in the B1G.

Love this show but it’s sad how you guys are putting the blinders on for this team. They still have the same glaring issues as last year with the O-Line and run defense. Still a distant 3rd in the division
WVU also dropped two should have been interceptions. One hit the guy right in the hands and the other off the guys chest. Both in red zone I believe.
And PSU dropped some interceptions too, and dropped a touchdown pass + missed two field goals. It wasn’t close.
Allar got a little lucky vs WVU. WVU dropped 3 that should have been INTs. The first of which was the first long TD pass that right right between the hands... He Def played well tho, esp for his first start

@@DH-lm6kh Two hit the hands of the defenders. The endzone pass and the tipped pass = 2. The first TD pass was in between the hands just a few inches off because the DB slipped as he dove.
He played a good game, but he got a little lucky on those 3 bro... Wouldnt have made a difference in the outcome, just the stat line.
Endzone pass was only one better than that crappy FSU QB threw right at two LSU guys who could of walked it in for TDs but they couldn't catch only picked one of his terrible passes.
@brianmiller1977 he didnt slip he dove, and because allar threw a 40 yard laser, it was either going to be a catch by the wideout or a deflection. There was no way that defensive back was catching that ball, his only hope was a deflection at best
Btw, there's only a couple NFL quarterbacks that could've made thst throw, maybe D.Maye and Caleb as well, but that's about it

Props to Penn State, they played really well against my Mountaineers but not a fan of the coach running up the score
Same could be said about wvu using all their timeouts at the end, going for 2, all to try and make the score look closer

@@Shibby. There's a difference between playing to keep a game somewhat close and running up the score with 12 secs on the clock when you're leading by 16
You scored on 2nd team then thought was okay to go for 2 when you know game should of been conceted to Victor's far superior to you. I'm glad PSU scored at end! 👏
You can't have it both ways. Your team can't go for 2, convert that, then onside kick, then call defensive timeouts acting like they still have a chance to win the game. And then you want to get upset because PSU used their backups to score on WVU starters? That just doesn't make sense. Oh and by the way the scoring play was a straight QB run up the middle. Doesn't really get more basic than that. If WVU doesn't call those timeouts the game is probably over in the middle of the field.
