Its great seeing at least some of them out there. I wish U.S. carriers would use them but sadly that doesnt seem likely to ever happen the way things are going.
Great video. Ironically I work at AHJ Airport and at least 3-4 times a week I work on getting the Korean 747-8 cleaned up for the turn-around flight back to Seoul. The flight arrives around 9:30 AM daily and myself and a crew of about 30 others have 1-1:15 hours to get it cleaned up.
What do you expect, since ATL is Delta's Hub, you'll see more Deltas than anything else. Delta was rated no.1 so far for this year. Nice video and yes, it's always rush hour or rush, rush hour.
One time I was flying out of ATL to ORD on an early morning flight on a 727 in 1990. I counted nearly 40 planes in line behind us to take off. The weather was fog and rain so that didn't help matters much in getting flights away on time.
I used to work at Hartsfield 94-97 as part of security at the NWA hanger early in the morning after shift change as the sun was coming up you could watch planes lining up to land and it look like a string of diamonds off in the distance if Hartsfield was that busy then you can imagine what it's like now with five runways in full operation during rush it's unreal if you want to see what it's like on radar you can download ADSB flight tracker Lite from Google Play set the flight routes for North America and then select Atlanta and watch the fun note make sure you set it at a dsb Exchange when indicated and this is also a visual server which means it can be turned off by the server owners at any time
Hi! HI! and thank you for this amazing video! I love watching! WOULD you please tell me where IS THE best place that I can drive to and watch the planes? I prefer watching the takeoffs, but, I just want to watch as close as I can. Thanks!
I know about the rush in the afternoon at Atlanta, although it is about 25 years ago. After leaving the gate as scheduled, ending up in a queue at the taxi lane. Just to hear planes taking off for over a hour, then see planes taking off at the runway (through the planes windows) for half a hour and at last after more than a hour and a half we lift off. Luckily I caught my plane to the Netherlands at Chicago O'Hare airport because the gate I arrived was near the gate I left.
Like many, I came for the majestic Korean 747 in the thumbnail, but ended up staying for the entire video. Shame the MD-80s and 90s won't be with Delta for much longer. Hopefully the 717 will remain for at least a few more years.
When we were kids in the 60's we would go to College Park, Ga and watch the planes as long as we wanted to. Great view of the runway and the whole airport. But not anymore. Of course, the airport is 4 times the size as it was then. I don't know how you got those shots without being shot, the way it is there now!
Big airports such as hartsfield (5 runways), O'Hara (chicago has 10 runways), Dallas? ?runways, and other u.s. airports . These airports 3 air planes can take off at the same time or 3 planes can land at the same time . Food for thought
Interesting comparison between a newer 737-900ER with white LEDs (2:04) and an older one with halogen bulbs (4:00). Note no nose gear lights on the newer LED aircraft.
Nice video👍I especially like the descriptions for each aircraft. I've seen people film from the top of the parking garage but where do you get your footage from?
This is awesome video and enjoyable indeed! Superb job! I have a question for you. Where is the planespotting area for this airport? Do you have to be a passenger on a flight to go into this area?
I'm amazed that US airlines still operate such old planes like the MD-88's, not to say they're unsafe but so old! And no other major airline still uses them. I think Delta is phrasing them out?
Yep, kinda like the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" These were the workhorses in Delta's fleet because they were simpler, reliable, and perfect for what they were used for! Sadly yes, they are beginning to phase them out with the introduction of the A220, A321, and 737-900.
Lepp Aviation I can tell that you have an affection for the Queen of the skies. She's one aircraft I have not experienced but am still in awe of. Great videography and location. I had many trips through KATL between KWAS and KMLU in the '70s with the DC-9 and B-727.
Very nice camera work. Would be nice if Atlanta had more variety of foreign tails like other large US cities. Endless parade of Delta without much else.

amazing video! this is why i subscribed! quality content. love it. also, at the 6:40 mark, that has to be the biggest plane i have ever seen. also ive never heard of an airline called Cathay Pacific. where do they normally run to and from?
Cathay Pacific is the official airline of Hong Kong, but they also fly cargo, which frequently flies from large US cities to Anchorage then to Asia. Thanks for watching!
I'd like to visit Denver, but most likely won't. It's just too vast to catch much without having a car, rendering it pretty much useless for videos (in my opinion).
The Korean Air 747-8i is such a beautiful plane. Wish more carriers used them.
With rising fuel cost we may see them soon be retired, like the a380. But I would give 10-20 years.
Its great seeing at least some of them out there. I wish U.S. carriers would use them but sadly that doesnt seem likely to ever happen the way things are going.

Though I strongly prefer the sound of the -400, I totally agree! The 747-8i is probably the most beautiful plane out there!

Nice shot of an A340. Best looking plane Airbus ever made!
I cannot decide between Lufthansa or Korean 747-8s. They are amazing.
the Korean is real perty comin' out of ATL
For me, Korean for sure. The "eurowhite" paint schemes are a bit boring.
Great variety of plane types and carriers! I especially enjoyed the KLM Dreamliner; I had not seen a 787 in Atlanta previously. Excellent video!

I just wish ATL had more variety. Especially the international carriers. For those of us that live here, all Delta all the time gets a little old.
I love watching the Landing gear go in
757 is one of the greatest looking and sounding airplanes EVER...also Delta time to retire all the MDs....
SSF556 how can you say that when the sound it creates is also unique. I love the sound of inefficient low bypass turbofans.
