It looks like the Skyline came from Russia before imported to USA. Clues: Russian phone number card (leave in windshield in case your car is blocking something) Maintenance receipts where in Russian ИТОГ=Total and the price in rubles, also has blue dealer stamp. If I had a clear picture of the receipt I could probably find the dealer where it was serviced at and possibly get the owners name in Russia. I can call and get a little more history on it.

The wooden wedge with electric is best. Model d and v8 tesla are fun but truck stuff is not so much. The crazy bits outside the build keeps me coming back.

I was like wtf was that at 1st I thought it was a skit but then quickly realized that he was being serious that truck had a decently good body no damage till rich f'ed it up and just totally royally destroyed the rear wheel hub fender flare btw that white truck has some nice rims that complement the truck now all he got is a semi decent looking truck with pieces of fiberglass missing from the rear right side SMH 🤦🏻♂️😑😐😣 I guess Rich has another project on the list now I guess 🤷🏻♂️

Rich I don't think one 2/4 is enough anchor for the winch . I would drill the floor and bolt it down.
It's bolted through the wall sheeting, which is held on by little more than drywall screws. I foresee a major fail.
Yeah, I was thinking it was totally sketchy too. I was going to make a comment about it, but then thought of Rich's other comments like, "When you [insert thing here], then you can do it the way you want to."
I've never mounted a winch to a wall. So, what do I know? All I can say is, the winch looks small for the job, and I don't trust the mounting. Again, I'm just a TH-cam commenter, so what do I know?
@@shawnerz98 I think the capacity of the winch is way less critical than the fact that he mounted it to a 2x4 studded wall. And he's got concrete he coulda used right there. Try pulling a diesel truck up there and watch the wall yeet itself.
In construction, I've seen lags fail time and time again. I would never trust them for a wench, that thing is going to dislodge from the wall and fly into a windshield one day, but hey I guess it will make for great youtube. In that situation I would personally use bolts maybe through some longer pieces of angle iron or c-channel on the other side but thats just me.

4:51 rich is normally a pretty smart guy probably should have moved the other vehicles. But I can barely do basic work on my car without something going wrong or shit taking forever so I won't judge.

Successful YT channel. Sam is busy with toliet humor, I mean who is interested in your stepmom? That is bowl full of fail. Another issue is that Sam never does anything with his cars. Once having a 400-500hp Mustang GT that never saw the inside of a drag strip. Channels like his and B is for Build are for non enthusiasts that think they are. There is a reason why converting the C4 isn't popular.
To be fair Sam has stated he's due for a Bendpak, but he needed to make sure that he has a suitable foundation for it first... _and_ then he's gotta get the broken cars out of the barn first so he can install it (assuming it will fit.)

I bought a Nissan Silvia back in the early 2000's in Australia for 10k AUD, ran it for 10 years, then traded it in for $3000 AUD on a newer 2nd hand car. They now sell for at least 20K if it runs, and you would probably have to pay 10k for a rolling shell now a days. Just saw in the 2nd hand market place, someone selling a 1996 RX7 for $98,000 AUD and thats almost 3 times what they used to cost when you bought them 2nd hand all those years ago now.
Same story. Sold my MR2 a while ago for $2k, nowadays they're easy $25k+ :)

Man i was thinking how sketchy pulling the Ranger with the Argo without someone to be on the brakes in the Ranger then Rich started rolling it and i was like "NOOOO!!!!!" 🤣 Luckily that didnt turn into a massive mistake...
Rich and Stevón, thanks for rescuing these cars. It kills me to see people just let them waste away or outright destroy them. While I'm not a huge fan of the Lancer Evo or the Skyline, I think these two have a ton of potential to be really cool and I can't wait to see what you guys do with them!

That winch on the front of the trailer works both ways it can pull it can also slowly release tension. so, you could have hooked that up to the truck and slowly rolled it off.
It's hard to believe a diesel Model 3 Tesla is more popular than an electric C4. Perhaps you should unload more of your projects into other projects.
No one likes the c4. If it was a c5 or c6 would have much more attention

Alright thought someone would say it but the r33 was in Russia from those maintenance records. it also explains the external bolts in the bumper, as license plates in Russia are wider and probably covered the screws. Anyway someone in Russia spent a lot of money on that thing
The maintenance records at 00:14:40 are for a 1985 Nissan vehicle that was serviced a year ago in Berdsk, Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia. They like buying cheap used cars from Japan there even though the steering wheel is on the wrong side for that country. The blue-white card says "If my vehicle is in your way, please call this number".

I’m excited to see what you’re gonna do to them. Especially the Evo cause I’ve always wanted one but could never afford one. As far as the rust on the Evo Mitsubishi’s are notorious for rusting on the rocker panels near the rear wheel arch.

I, for one, care about the C4 electric conversion. So here’s a comment from someone who cares about it and wants to see more about it. Double motor? Sweet. That’s going to have some power. And where did you get the motors??? I’m looking for electric motors for my conversion and I haven’t found any sweet used ones.
I miss my old evo 8.. was such a fun car while it lasted, but I’m glad I swapped it for an s2k. Haven’t looked back since.

My 2005 Civic EX isn't exactly iconic, but it was ruined by a teenager. It used to be such a fun car to drive, too.. mainly because I had swapped a 2.4L from a CR-V into it and rebuilt and ported/polished the head for high flow, and went stage 3 high lift camshaft, upgraded connecting rods, 15:1 compression, 88mm bore, race bearings, it was probably making about 320HP at the crank N/A. Put a 6-speed from the RS-X Type S in it and put the RS-X 5-lug hubs, and some coilovers on it. Then I got hurt at work and couldn't do anything with it, so I let my nephew drive it for a while. That was a major mistake. He destroyed that car.
I will admit the C4 was never my favorite Corvette. That being said I was still excited to see what you did with it

My thoughts exactly, seeing the winch even before he explained the idiotic plan. Bonehead move and very lucky only a POS was damaged. When he started moving the skinny ass 2x4's, I thought for sure it was a set up for something funny. I felt embarrassed for him...

When Uncle Rich is working along it gets pretty nostalgic, I was waiting for the knives to come out.
I'm curious, is the transmission tunnel in the C4 wide enough to slip these motors into? I'm not sure what the dimensions of the C4's tunnel is, it's not exactly something you can just look up, I just know that manuals and automatics had different tunnels. If they are wide enough, sneaking these two as far back as possible would probably do wonders for weight distribution, especially if you're going for a reasonable sized battery. Also, torque tube on the C4? C4s have a driveline support beam that links the transmission to the differential for torsional rigidity, C5 and onward is what has the torque tube, unless the C4 has one swapped in but there's really no reason to do so.
Anything rich does is interesting and the c4 should have its own episode. Don't down play your bright knowledge. Please educate us even if it feels mundane.

I payed $23,000Aud back in 2017 for a Evo 7 GSR with 90,000Km, the car looked great on the surface but I failed to check the underneath and it was rusted pretty bad. Hole in the rear passanger foot well, crank shaft seal let go, radiator support was pretty much flaking off and all shocks were spent. I replaced the shocks and drove the car for another few years but decided to sell since it would of been a massive undertaking replacing panels and fixing the rust. I ended up selling it close to 30K in 2020 and got my money back, for me it was my childhood dream car and it was the one that got away.

I know it may not look as popular as others (granted you have other non-C4 related videos that are also only at 300-500k), but I think with the light weight and good aero it has, once you put the motors in you'll be very surprised with how much you'll like it. It would just be a shame if you put the batteries in the "trunk" instead of under the hood / in place of the gas tank cause it would remove any sort of utility it has and as a result you'd never drive it.
I'm glad you hired some Chipmunks to load the fancy cars into the holder. I don't think the Rich Photo can see that part of the shop to look out for you

That r33 is from Russia. I would double check the condition of the structural frame if I was you. That kind of dirt on the engine most likely because of driving in winter on the roads with chemical reagents. So I would also double check for rust. I would gladly help you to translate the service papers and run the vin in russian databases.
Yall could do an occasional episode where you do quick run throughs of all the unpopulars and loose ends. Just every few weekends to keep other arcs inline.. I like it all, I like seeing rich being stupid and breaking stuff

If you use a wrap flex coupling you can replace the flexible element, without having to disassemble the motors
