Outer Wilds is one of the best experiences when it comes to gaming. The only gripe I have with is is the fact that I cant go back in time and play it for the first time again.

Are you gonna watch fallout?
I see campfire, I know what it is. I'm glad you experienced this game, Pig
I see Outer Wilds thumbnail on a BionicPig video, I instantly click it
I have never seen this creator before but I see that campfire and I gotta click
>sees outerwilds thumbnail
>comes to it
>watches video
Monkey sees campfire, neuron activation
Pig, this is INSANE timing. I finished Outer Wilds and Echoes of the Eye a couple weeks ago and I CANNOT stop watching supercuts (shoutout Eelis) of other people playing for the first time. Very fucking excited for this video, I pogged when I saw the thumbnail
Go watch PointCrow's vod of his blind playthrough, he plays smartly and his theorizing is endlessly satisfying!
@@boiimcfacto2364 I already did (shoutout Eelis)!!!!!!!!!! I just started IsNotRetro’s as well, if you haven’t seen it I recommend because this is whack
I have a penchant for memorising or remembering things so I feel kinda sad that I watched gameplay of it even if it was a few years ago so my experience is ruined. Now, I experience the game vicariously through other people, watching something I'll never be able to have.
@@CommissarChaotic Classic deranged Outer Wilds fan - I'm the same way. There's nothing left for us to do except convince other people to play and watch their first playthroughs, and keep spreading it like it's Ghost Matter XD
Shoutout eelis indeed, supercut goat
I love how most of us just went "oh hey, a campfire. This is an Outer Wilds video, sweet"
Outer Wilds is a game i consistently return to.
It doesn't matter who, doesn't matter what, if i see outer wilds, *especially a breakdown* I watch it.
It's a mirror disguised as a game, and its ending and "Moral of the story" can be taken so many ways, to the point that it genuinely feels that;
As you complete the game, you feel so much clarity, and when the game finishes, you're left to interpret the ending to what you choose.
Everyone had different understandings, but this is what the end taught me;
*Do not be afraid.*
I think this is exactly why OW has the cult following in does. Your interpretation makes the game! The sense of loss and acceptance which I see as the foundation of the games messageb (in my opinion) can resonate with so many people. I heard about this game through word of mouth and I'll never look back. It changed my outlook on life and gave me a soundtrack to die for.
Thanks for keeping major spoilers out. I have yet to play this game. It kinda gives me melancholy vibes. I think space in general feels like that. Which I love. There's a game called Dear Esther that has a similar feel about it. No map. There is narration though. You're just exploring caverns and caves, lots of beautiful scenery. Very short game. I really need to check out Outer Wilds soon! It looks beautiful. Great video! Love the music!
It's an amazing game, it's really special. I would almost even say don't watch this video before playing it, even if there's no major spoilers.
Dear Esther, What Remains of Edith Finch, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture (same dev)
Great games
@@meridiasbeacon7669 I haven’t played Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture yet. I hear good things though. I loved Edith Finch. Beautiful games!
now go play outer wilds mute the tag on YT and do not look a thing up
@@meridiasbeacon7669no way, everybody's gone to the rapture is the same dev as outer wilds??
I recognize that campfire anywhere.
Why is the intro so emotional, I fee sad from that, crazy good intro
This is a certified BionicPig masterpiece.
The music. The commentary. The game.
10/10 masterpiece right here.
Pig your descriptions of movies and games genuinely make me want to play/watch them. this game was on my radar but I wasn't even considering buying it until this video and now it's next on my list for payday
I haven't watched you in a while, but always have been subscribed, but wanted to still say i love your content and whatever direction you go in. I quote you regularly, and will binge watch all i've missed. But thank you for being a pillar of sanity during rough seas. (I am aware that sounded dramatic, sorry) -Faye⚓
Amazing video... thank you.
“There’s that planet. It’s great. Trust me, you’re gonna love it” 😂😂😂😂
Heck yeah! Mr.Pig Finally gets wild!
Another great little game is Eastshade. You're sent off to paint nostalgic sceneries for your sickly mother back home, but you get sucked into the different lives and mysteries of the people there
I've been homeless for over a year. I live in the woods with my cat. Nothing is easy but I keep going. The other homeless people have all left. They couldn't last a day in the woods. There's only three of us. Myself, Peter and Gypsy. I'm known as the guy with a cat, Gypsy is known as the cat lady. We both feed other people. I want to get her out of the ditch and cook dinner for her.
more like guy with the cap 🧢💯
Wait why do you have wifi then?
it's cap @@Capital_snack69
I have a good friend that has me on his family's phone plan. By adding me it lowers everyone's phone bill. I got really lucky.
@Capital_snack69 most places have free wifi anyways so it ain't that hard to do
When you said there aren't jump scares I assumed you hadn't played the dlc. It's just as good if not better than the base game. And scary.
I hope you play it and maybe make a video on it.
Angler fish are still jump scares in base game
@@tumultuousvstill remember my first expedition into the dark bramble😭
This game is an existential masterpiece.
what a beautiful game, clearly made with passion
I just beat the game and it just all feels so real. The longing of playing it again or the regret of looking at guides makes me just want to do it all over again. I can’t get enough of the game
It's weird because I didn't know there was a time limit until this video
I just thought the game was telling me that I did something wrong
Pfft definitely not the only one, I've watched a stream where it took them 2 hours before they noticed
How much did you play tho
I quite literally played this for the first time this week. Could not be more stoked to see you post a video about it!
a Pig video drops along side new music on Pigmusic?! yes please and thanks
I think this is one of my favourite videos of yours now, I was wondering if you ever played Outer Wilds! Seems like I have my answer!
Love this game, thank you for covering it!!
@15:45 time some important and insightful commentary by Boo the parrot.
Amazing vid! I’m glad you talked about how scary the game can be. I purposefully avoided Giant’s Deep until the curiosity eventually outweighed the fear 😂
I actually just completed the DLC for this game last night. It's really one of my favorites now, and I'm desperately looking for people to talk to about it. It's just kinda perfect.
Loved the video!! And that OG soundtrack just goes 🔥
banger video, even though I had literally no idea what this game was until watching. Love to see you making videos about the things you're passionate about, it really, truly, comes through in your work.
9:46 “..and excitement about what you’re about to discover” you’re about to discover what the sun feels like
Love outer wilds! It makes me sad every person I know who I've convinced to play it bounced off it before it could get its hooks in them.
The covers are wonderful
Great vid man, always a pleasure to watch your videos
What a beautiful video. I've been jumping back into gaming and this is exactly what I've been hoping to find. ❤
This was the most amazing, beautiful, well made video u have ever made… the music, the atmosphere, the passion, it was an incredible watch.❤ Bravo!!
:')
You should also check out Rain World if you liked this ;)
Talk about rain world.
Talk about In Stars and Time.
Like the human curiosity of where the hell your Heart Of Glass cover disappeared to
I’m so happy for another main channel video l!!
Handholding settings should definitely be a thing. Even Outer Wilds would benefit from it. It has minimal handholding but still have some like automatically prompting for scout launch.
Sadly, it might never happen because reducing handholding also means the devs will have to make more effort with the game design so that you handhold the players without explicitly doing so 😄
I think I would have had a better experience if I hadn't used the ship computer. I wish it was locked behind a handholding mode.
really enjoyed the music, great job Pig
I was about to think that youtube has ran out of those sweet juicy Outer wilds video essays for me, the timing couldn't have been greater. Thank you, this video perfectly captures Outer Wilds.
The only game I have played with the same type of exploration as Outer Wilds is the original Legend of Zelda for the NES.
Don't look anything up, just play it. And just explore, and have fun.
Play it like you played Outer Worlds, and enjoy.
No fucking way.
Nakamura Hero helped fund the game's project? That's fucking AWESOME. (and on point for his character in the show, tbh)
I never understood the desire to play games like this until I played Elden ring. I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to be confused while playing games, so I usually prefer to have a direct objective. With Elden ring, it was genuinely soooo scary to start??? Like being put out into this huge map, right in front of HUGE enemies and not really being told where to go or what to do was kinda overwhelming. 4 hours later I had most of the map discovered and really wanted to finish the game (hadn’t even fought my first boss) 😂 I still have yet to finish the game, but at about 80 hours in, the experience has been so much more fulfilling than I expected.
With all of that being said, I still dont understand what’s happening in that game 😅
Wasn't Alex's inspiration with Zelda because of the gameplay until Skyward Sword? If definitely wasn't because all Zelda games didn't have exploration as a focus. Just the antithese of Skyward Sword itself.
Let's go great vid!
I always get teary-eyed watching OuterWild stuff (finished maybe 3 months ago).
I can't even bring myself to play the DLC yet.
Outer Wilds is a puzzle game that happens to be in space. Idk if you can really compare it to something like Elite Dangerous. The reason most planets are barren in that game is bc that's very realistic of what you would find in real space. Don't get me wrong, both games are incredible, but just in very different ways.
Outer wilds understands the core of space exploration. Seeing new worlds and encoutering the dangers both known and unknown. I'm really glad I never had some boring space truckers segment, menuing to mine ore or build a building, just exploring the sights, sounds, and history of the solar system.
I'm content with my experience with the game, and my only hope is that Outer Wilds will inspire others to make their own passion projects to share with us.

One of the things that I found particularly emotionally poignant in OW is that, if you pay close attention to the discussions and surroundings, you can find the likely final resting place of many of the Nomai who's words you read in all those logs - almost every one that was involved in the ATP died in a specific place you can identify. That kind of attention to detail in the design is really something.
So excited to see you talk about this game! Shout out to the hourglass twins, gotta be some of my favorite planets. I'm a little bummed you didn't dive into spoilers, just because I would love to hear your thoughts, but the cheeky little nods were fun and I totally get wanting to encourage people to play for themselves. Thanks for another great video!
I wish I could play Outer Wilds again for the first time. This is such a phenomenal game. Mindblowing.
I wish I could play Outer Wilds again for the first time. This is such a phenomenal game. Mindblowing.
Love Outer Wilds recognition, but you should've placed spoiler warning at 0:00 :c
I find this game really cool. Of course it have great gameplay and I was also amazed on how they managed to make everithing works. I also loved the spaceship and the freedom you have. But thats pretty much it. Exploring everything, reading things I dont understand at all, being lost with no evident clues, being all the time at a dead end... feels like a big wall to me. I ended watching videos of how to achieve the ending, but for me it seems a task to think "how am I supposed to arrive to this conclusion with the little information they give". I sometimes feel jelous becouse all friends around me love it but this is not a game for me
Always glad to see people enjoying Outer Wilds, great vid
But I also got banned from your discord for putting a dumb reaction on the announcement, no warning or anything
U deserve it
Cannot express how much I love this video. This game is a true gem and I wish I can experience it fully again
tip for every new player: go to dark bramble first (best planet for beginners ;)), and head towards the red lights, that's how you progress
I genuinely think that Outer Wilds is gaming's greatest achievement (so far).
I'm not ready for the emotional punch in the gut that comes with talking about this beautiful game, but I think that's exactly what the game would want me to do
i see an outer wilds thumbnail on my recommended and i click faster than lightspeed on GOD
Great video G money
If I could nuralize myself for one thing it would be this game, so I could play it for the first time again
I'm going to be that douche and drop spoilers - it turns out that your father was Darth Vader and he was dead the whole time.
i’m not a gamer per say but the lack of competition or strategy to conquer something makes me wanna try it out. even more if there are endless things to discover
thankS !
Not really endless, but it's goal(s) are just whatever you're curious about
Oh man the remixes you did for this video of the outer wild osts were sooo good, really nailed the vibe, and then the video itself!!!
Gambling
why didn't this video make it to my sub feed?? i would have watched it way earlier
Everything just...so well said. So true. Kudos to you! ☺
This game is one I wish I could play for the first time again
Haha the sun station bit is so real, I did the hard bit and then discovered the easy bit less than 20 minutes later
WE NEED MORE VIDEO ESSAYS LIKE THIS PLEASEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Can you do ringing bell if you can I’m telling you it’s really sad
I’m just scrolling through the comments to see if I recognize anyone…
Woh, wait, what? Hiro Nakamura funded the game?
god i love this game and i really like this channel so this is amazing
Would love to see more like this in the future
I bought the game after watching this video and am loving it so far!
Me see Outer wilds. Me happy. Me like.
PLEASE play the DLC on camera!
You should play Dead Cells it has a similar thing.
15:07 landing on the sun station
I laughed out loud.
Nooooo, I want the authentic Ubislop experience!! I love it so much whenever the game takes me for a vegetable and is one step away from playing itself.. /s
Uh
Wow, never expected you to cover Outer Wilds! I've been watching you for a while due to your reviews of some of my childhood movies and now you cover one of my favorite games
I'd love to see bionic pigs take on le miserables
commenting for the all-mighty algorithm 🙏
I went to space and I agree this is the best space game.
i fucking love you pig, you’ve been doing amazing work with these vids, putting so much effort into them, making your own music with the vids, the loyal and true fans recognize you dude
I love when Pig talks about things he's passionate about. These are the videos I always look forward to the most! Plus we get more Pig music too!? 😁 I definitely want to check this game out now. Thanks for the video Pig!
Pig upping his video game (lmao) as usual
Pig describes mincraft but in space
I always got Jak and Daxter vibes from the aliens and surroundings in Outer Wilds, it was a lot of fun! But I did end up not finishing it...
This is one of my favorite games of all time
You should do the borderlands movie
OUTER WILDS MENTIONED 🗣🗣🗣💯💯💯‼️‼️‼️
Need more gameplay vids tho
Can't believe I've never heard of a game gem like Outer Wilds before. Thank you so much for covering this!
