    Sounds like Duncan MacPherson case. He went missing on a ski field and was found in the snow 14 years later frozen and had amputated limbs. So the leading theory is he was run over by a snowcat and instead of reporting it, the driver covered him up

    I mean another alternative to that last theory is the farmer saw him probably from a distance mistaking him as a thief or maybe an animal trying to get to his crops or animals. Shoot Brandon and soon discovered it was just an innocent kid and panics and hides the evidence to avoid trouble.
    Now people can argue that the parents would have heard a shot, much like they would heard their son falling into the river, etc. However, all we have is what the parents told us they heard during that phone call and the fact is human memories are unreliable. There could have been many possible factors that could have resulted in the parents not hearing an important clue during the event and when confronted with trying to fully retell what had happened. Their brains do what all brains do and that is try and fill in the gaps resulting in them thinking that they had a perfect hearing on the phone for a few minutes when it a reality that might not be what exactly happened.

    • @Lurker381

      @@Lurker381 no matter what happened, the parents must have heard *something*. they were able to hear the river, so its not like the phone had a super small pickup range. footsteps, him cursing or shouting, a splash from falling into the river, anything.

    • @AlexOlinkiewicz
      @AlexOlinkiewicz 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

      @@Lurker381 I did have that thought, but then you have to remember we only have what the parents told us they heard on the phone, and human memories are unreliable. So it could be possible that the phone call wasn't that clear at all or there was a break-up during the audio, or heck it can be possible that the phone did cut off, but cause the parents were in such a panic they mistook static as river sounds and footsteps. It is very easy for a parent who is panicking about what happened to their kid that they aren't thinking clearly so when confronted on telling people what they remember their memories try to fill in the blanks resulting in them claiming the phone call was clear and they heard everything when that might not have been the case.

      Scent dogs are actually kinda shit if you look into it. They do false positives and negatives all the time. Cops know this, that's why they try to err on the side of caution because if enough things go to court based on a dog's ability to find evidence, it would get to the point where police dogs were discredited so much that they can't get a search warrant based on their activities again.

    i think it was the farmer. they often have tranquilizer darts for cattle, brandon would of felt a sting, and had enough time to say "oh shit" before it put him to sleep. if the farmer was competent he would of waited for the phonecall to end in complete silence, plus he would know the land well enough, to be able to get ahead of brandon to set an ambush. would also explain why theres no body, or any evidence... except for on the farming equipment. plus. where did the phone go? and all brandons clothes? there would be signs if it was a natural death. this seems like it was scrubbed clean.

    It is strange how Brandon instantly disappeared from the face of the Earth. The fact that the last words that his parents heard were "Oh, Sh*t". Don't know what he saw that made him say those words. It could be that he did encounter some dangerous individuals on his way, and ended up getting kidnapped. I also find very suspicious that the farmer says "no", when they asked to search for his equipment. It is like that he's been erased from existence by some entity or something.

Theory’s suggested that he was secretly depressed about life at the time because of his history in the military and possibly found the most remote part of the landscape where he knew he would never be found to off himself so his family can still legally get the life insurance.

    The phonecall going on after those last words makes it all the more confusing; if the river was the culprit, why wasn't there a splash heard on the phone? If it was a farmer, why no gunshot? If he just fell or was knocked out, why no footsteps or "thud" of a body? Plus, the fact that he was able to scream out means he must've seen/heard/felt whatever it was that got to him ahead of time, so he wasn't entirely taken by surprise. Saw a few other comments mention tranquilizer guns, which could work, but I always thought they take quite a bit of time before they actually knock someone out cold. Whatever the case, this really reeks of foul play.

Apparently its not uncommon for them to wander near agricultural zones to snack on corn and the like.

      My friend always believed that a farmer could have seen him walking thru the his property and assumed it was a robber or someone with bad intentions and shot and killed him. That’s why his body has never been found. You’d think it eventually would have turned up if he ended up in some hole or well by now.

      @chask420 these people would never come forward with this even if they felt justified. Paranoid stand your ground farmers aren't exactly the most trusting of law enforcement or the government. It's laughably possible that one of these people would "justifiably" shoot some random person in the dark with zero warning then hide the body or feed it to pigs without thinking it was a good idea to tell the police or government (who are "totally" out to get them and are part of some worldwide conspiracy)

    This was covered by Morbid on Spotify and that's what brought me to your video
    They definitely needed to search the farmer's property.
    I live in the country also and anyone running across my property at 2am is gonna be shot at, also. Mainly bc we don't have a police dept, we also have had 2 bodies found on My road before, and we have a prison that has had people escape just 8 miles away.
    We are encouraged to carry out here and I have children to protect.

    One thing that is ALWAYS left out of videos on this case is that he was underage and already had one DUI on his record. This obviously as the video does state was why he chose to take the backroads that night. It could also explain his lack of sense of direction. Unfortunately that is all it explains in this case.

    I believe Brandon fell in a well or cistern. Most of the farmers in the area he went missing refused to give the police permission to search their land. I guess they were worried about being sued or charged if the well wasn't marked or fenced.

    • @lauramoses1271
      @lauramoses1271 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of farmers do not trust law enforcement. The cops, being lazy as they often are, decided he was probably an old grouchy farmer who didn’t like cops and that *they*(the cops)would have an easier time leaving the farmer alone. They absolutely should have gotten a warrant to search the property based on scent alone but cops are lazy and if you’re white and don’t like them and they don’t have enough reason to bother you they’ll just leave you alone for their own sake.

  • @방탄리사

    I think if they had gotten a court order to search the farm they probably would´ve found him. Obviously the cops there didn´t really care to do their jobs tho, as they´re known to do.

  • @NicoleConnelly-b5u

    I would imagine if he were falling, sliding etc his last words would have have the exclamation that he was doing that followed by a splash or thud none of which were heard. Now if his scent was detected on farming equipment I don't see how a warrant was not issued considering he was a missing person.

    Having a weird Mandela effect moment now, I could have sworn I watched a video on this case a while ago and it ended up that he fell into a well in the field he was crossing through, explaining his sudden exclamation and then silence. Most likely this was just a theory that was presented or a different missing persons case but I feel like it is a very reasonable explanation.

    6:20 it was at this moment I knew. He got shot. I may not live in Minnesota, but I do live in the Midwest, and the second I heard he crossed someone’s farm land I thought “Oop farmer shot him for being on his property.” Running across someone else’s land at 2 in the morning is a 10/10 way to get shot depending on the farmer. The fact that farmer didn’t want to search, ya no, accidental killing followed up by purposeful coverup.

    Yeah. Im from NW IN outside of Chicago and ny mom lives in central middle of nowhere Indiana and i went to Purdue in West Lafayette 2001-2003 before cell phones having maps and whatnot and i can't tell you how many times i had to detour because of road work or bad weather or roads being washed out from high water and had gotten lost. You think you are going the right way but then the country road ends and you turn and that doesn't go through and desd ends at a field and so you keep going making turns and then you forgot what direction you are traveling. I still like to look at maps and plan my routes before i go anywhere just incase my phone doesn't work or dies or i have no wifi. And i keep an atlas in my trunk.

    Here's what I think may have happened!
    I think it's still the farmer theory. I was speculating, and it seems likely that it could have been accidental. Some farmers are up late at night/early in the morning. If they're using larger combines, it's possible that the farmer may not have even seen him. The parents may not have even heard it should it be like a tractor or combine. They're large machines, but 2008 phones also weren't that amazing. Human memory is also unreliable. It's possible that the parents may have even picked up on it while on the phone but not remembered.
    If Brandon had visual issues and drank enough where he wound up crashing his car and wound up 30miles away from where he though, it's possible that he wasn't coherent enough to notice a vehicle coming through crops. It's possible that it was more of an "oh shit (what is that coming towards me?)" and then it was enough to smack him down.
    It's hard to say, but I think the farmer theory definitely tracks in one way or another. Especially with how he told the police he wasn't going to cooperate. Not cooperating isn't inherently suspicious, but there are too many chips in place for it to mean nothing.
