Wow, its so amazing to see what you have created with my template, im glad that my template saved you some time so u can focus on more fun things in game development :), btw great channel its because of youtubers like you that i got into game development, keep up the great work!
Cheers! The template has been really great. It’s super helpful for people trying to learn and get ideas off the ground, thanks for making it available! Best of luck in your creative endeavors :)
I just bought your template! I'm exited to try Unreal Game Dev; because I've used the Unity game engine for around 4 years, so I'm exited to try something new!
jst ran into this video rn and am approaching the game dev and desing as a studying path and hopefully it will be my future job. I got the pack imm after i ve finished the video. both of you are great (pack creator and the video creator)
i have a reccomendation, and this goes for really any horror/lifelike game. Make all the doors be able to be opened/closed, but for doors that you dont want to be opened, board it off. Dont add a padlock or something, it may confuse some people "where is the key?"
A nice time saving tip to check out a room in UE is that you can right click anywhere on the map and select "Play from here" to instantly start playing from where you right clicked! Nice video!
I love this, the environment tells a story and is pretty bone chilling. The use of assets is great as they all blend together really well. I'm trying to make something similar but with a house and this has given me major inspiration!
this gives off more of a horror vibe image you makeing a full on horror game model and inputting it into this with the AI it would be NIGHTMARE FUL but i love your work dude
I just bought the bundle for $3 for the horror template and the platformer and parkour template. Going to try do an horror game, thanks for this video. Also, you should have more subs your content is great I subbed.
Man great channel man, I'm trying to build a good channel myself, and I got to admit, you've got some style, I like the editing and the way you use sound in your videos, very good man
It looks sick! A scary effect would be if the ball jumped up towards you when you got close enough and then the screen just turns black. I would've sh!t my pants if I saw it for the first time
Thank you so much! Means a lot to hear people get excited about the projects. I absolutely intend to release games as I continue to explore and the channel here grows :)
I always wanted to make a horror game inspired by the dark pictures using meta human and unreal engine, a game about choice making and having complete strangers being trapped by relentless serials killers.
Ey bro im just gonna put this out there, if you wanna turn this into an actual game at some point, im a game designer and id love to hop in on a project like this
Its just a Boolean operation, it basically removes a section of an object that is being intersected by another object. Search for how to do a (subtract / difference) boolean in unreal engine, it should be pretty easy. Learning some 3D modelling fundamentals will help you a lot too.
I totally hear that, I do my best to take things one step at a time to keep from getting overwhelmed with big ideas and projects. Long term projects need space to grow :)
This is great. You may have mentioned it in the video, and I just missed it, but what GI are you using? When using Lumen, I run into an issue with lights that you don't seem to have. For example, if I shine a flashlight at a wall or corner, then turn it off, there's some light ghosting that fades over the course of around 2 seconds. I've tried increasing the Update Speed for Lumen, but it doesn't seem to change anything. If you are using Lumen, how did you get around this issue? Keep up the awesome work! (:
One of the best ways to gather assets on a budget is to check in with the Unreal Engine marketplace's free monthly asset giveaway, it's not long until you'll build up a pretty substantial library :)
A lot of the assets and materials used are from the Megascans library which is free with UE5, other detail pieces were acquired in monthly giveaways :)
If there any game developers out there I’m trying to social network get connected to more ppl who are interested in what I do , I’m new to the journey as well
Hello, I love your videos. I'm new to UE5 and I'm looking to learn and understand. Do you think it is possible to share your files? I know some people do it through a Patreon. I am sure you will be successful. Or otherwise via Discord and Paypal. Your level of horror interests me a lot to understand what you use and how you place it. Thank you very much in advance.

cool first person camera effect! is there a tutorial on how to make one?
yo bro how can i download this level i am an indie game developer making a horror game and this would be a perfect fit for the game I am working on.
To learn more blueprint for game mechanics I highly recommend Matt Aspland. He has dozens of to-the-point videos, many useful for horror games.
What’s his page?
@@austingrothe2754 just search his name
That's some amazing level design. Could you tell me where you got those IndustrialArea props? They look amazing

i should of kept learning how to do this back in high school, i used to create 3D art on Bryce
Where were you take walls model and texture?
It's level art, not LD :) But nice work
Awesome!!!
It’s actually super easy to add a flashlight in ue5
I've since built an updated system from scratch, flashlight included! New videos on that coming soon :)

AHhgnngc it’s been my dream to make a horror game, but I always get super discouraged when I see how complicated it is sometimes
I totally hear that, I do my best to take things one step at a time to keep from getting overwhelmed with big ideas and projects. Long term projects need space to grow :)
all the assets are good, did you get it from the pack when you buy it?
Most of these assets are from the Quixel megascans library, which can be accessed for free with use of Unreal Engine
@@DrakeMakes okay, understood.. thank you!!!
Nice job
What you use for concept arts board? And thanks for video - it is so good.
Thank you! I’m using Pureref for reference :)

Hey man, awesome tut! Noticed you have a folder mesh pack: IndustrialArea - where did you get this from?
It’s from the unreal engine marketplace, I’ve gotten a ton of mileage out of it. It was included in a set of free assets a few months ago.
@@DrakeMakes thanks dude, managed to source them!
Does it allow me to apply my own blender model over the enemy?
Retargetting can be a bit complicated but it can be done 👍
Hey! I had a quick question. Are the 3D assets you used free with Unreal Engine 5 or did you have to dowload them for extra cost?
A lot of the assets and materials used are from the Megascans library which is free with UE5, other detail pieces were acquired in monthly giveaways :)
Cool video. I dont get why you chined up a ball tho just made me laught.
Where did you get the industrial area pack?
é possível colocar física em megascans do quixel?
sim! Neste vídeo eu demonstro como aplicar física aos megascans: th-cam.com/video/q10eB5sxpUs/w-d-xo.html
