    Thanks for the video! Does the Thermador create a buzzing or clicking sound when in use? It seems to be an issue with some brands more than others. Thanks!

      @Donsappliances  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! When you use any type of induction it may have a low buzzing or hum. This is due to the magnetic fields from the cooktop interacting with the pan, so it's completely normal! The intensity of the noise can depend on the type of pots or pans you're using too.

  • @riverbenddrummer
    @riverbenddrummer ปีที่แล้ว +1

    and with the freedom part I would assume that you can also use a griddle anywhere on the surface so long as it fits, and put a paper towel in between if you want

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does create a burner based on where you place the cookware (as long as it fits like you said). And it is safe where you can place a paper towel to catch drippings or splatter!

    Looks amazing … can you please explain why induction cooktops can’t be used with a WOK for stir fry?

    • @cailinanne
      @cailinanne 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They can, you just can’t do the sir fry motion with the handle since it comes off the heat. You just have to sir it with a spatula. Honestly a round induction base designed for a wok is better than using a traditional gas stove or flat induction. But so is a round gas stove designed for a wok…
      I guess what I’m getting at is that it’s no different than a gas cook top. 🤷🏼‍♀️ idk why people always say you can’t use one, I do all the time.

    I love, love, love my Thermadore 48” range with six gas and two induction burners. But, moving and may not have the option to replicate the 48” range - so I may need to choose gas burners or induction and I am finding it may be a full induction cooktop in my future. Doing the research now. But the cooktop will be in the Island counter so no option for an overhead hood exhaust.

    You called what looked like paper towels under the sausage parchment paper. Is it parchment like you use for baking or a special paper towel. I'm very interested in the answer to this. My new Freedom top was just installed.

    • @Donsappliances

      You can do either one on induction. Paper towels, parchment paper, etc. won't burn on induction.

    what would be cool is an induction cooktop setup like a french top. A large surface that depending on where you place the pot or pan will determine the amount of heat. In the center would be super hot and the further out you place the pot the cooler the temp would be and it could handle a dozen different pots at different temps

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a great idea! You could always set the temp to cooler once you move the pan. This cooktop is great because it lets you have different temps wherever you create a burner!

      I've just ordered a ranger cooker in the UK with the freedom style top. I'm hated an old induction hob as it was so slow to slected and change the power with it's stupid + & - "buttons". This new one looks to be a lot lot better with quick swipe gestures and set temps for melting, warming and simmering.

    I am curious if pasta water boils over , will it affect the touch screen? I know u showed a bit of sauce splattering, but what about watery? Can it damage the touch screen controls?

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as there isn't a crack, or a space in the seal on the countertop, it won't be damaged. The cooktop's surface protects the touch screen. If you can avoid getting liquid in that area though, just in case there is a crack or space in the seal, that would be best. (This applies to spraying cleaning products as well).

      I have to agree somewhat. Not hard to get parts for authorized repair firms. I've owned the 36" Freedom Model for 10 years. After 4 years it shut down with a System Error Ci ADB L. That required new Adaptive Board (Left). 6 years later two more adaptive boards (Right & Left) and a control board. Thankfully I did buy an extended warranty, which has covered all repairs. Downside is that after the last repair, by the authorized techs, they cannot access the Service Main menu to calibrate the new adaptive boards. They ordered another control board believing that would solve the problem. Still the same issue; cannot access Service Main Menu. They have now given up, since without the ability to calibrate the new boards, the cooktop will not function. Thermador were pretty lame in helping the technicians (I overheard the phone conversation). They told the tech how to access the Service Main by pressing certain buttons. He did exactly as they asked, but it did not work. Then Thermador said they couldn't help any more than that. After at least a half hour of endless tries, he gave up. Gee, you would think that Thermador has a secondary method of getting into the service controls! Now the warranty company is offering me a small credit towards a new unit. Let me tell you, they have increased significantly in price over those 10 years. If anyone needs new parts, which have never been energized, let me know! ;-)

    If you are thinking about buying a thermador product please think again. We recently built a house and decided to splurge and buy thermador appliances for the house and Samsung for the suite.
    Have had nothing but problems with the Thermador appliances which cost little more than 3 times the Samsung products.. Their customer service is the worst I have ever come across in how rude they are. Warranty service is one big run around. In a million years I was not expecting to buy a brand like Thermador and be so disappointed. We basically gave up on their dishwasher after 18 months and replaced it with another Samsung but am filing documents with small claims to get compensated for the god awful stovetop induction unit. Save money and a whole lot of headache and heartache and get yourself something that works

    Wait? Doesn’t an Induction capable pan need to be on the surface for it to activate the heat? A cat, or a child, cant do any damage if there is no Induction capable pot in contact with the surface, Right? Also, is the heat applying to all surface that is touching the cooktop - i.e., such as, a rectangular or large oval griddle pan?

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! They could, it depends on the cooktop. What we were trying to say is if it did accidentally get turned on, it wouldn't burn or hurt anything since it needs a magnetic pan to activate. Hopefully this helps clarify!

  • @WilPlylerInsuranceAgency
    @WilPlylerInsuranceAgency ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why does this cooktop, since it is induction, have an unwanted inaccurate 0-9 heat scale. When this thing should have the ability to choose a precise temperature. Like 350 degrees. Why are you cheating yourself out of customers with a product that does not perform to the capacity it has the ability to perform? This makes it inferior. Disappointing.

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With different pan types, ventilation, settings, etc. cooktops temperatures would fluctuate. It wouldn't be able to accurately predict or distribute the correct temperature to a cooktop pan since it is exposed to what ever environment you're in. Ovens trap the heat and can provide an accurate read/consistent temperature, cooktops are exposed so they cannot.

    • @JackChristensen
      @JackChristensen 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There is wireless sensor (about 1.5" diameter) you can stick to the side of a pot which will automatically maintain a temperature within that pot. This is an optional accessory for the cooktop called the TCOOKSENSW. You can change that temperature via the control panel at any time (with 2º F resolution).
