I get all emotional when I hear this song. The Boingos were in my estimation a very underrated band. Danny Elfman, what an outstanding performer!

Saddest song he ever wrote, probably followed closely by Useless.

I, DeeDee Corona, had the honor of meeting Danny Elfman at a party in Belair California once upon a time. I have to admit that I DID NOT believe it was him, because he looked soooo much younger in person than he did in the "Private Life" music video. I apologize, Danny! Please take it as a compliment, on my behalf. I write children's poetry, and am an abstract artist, myself. For the record, I'd like to say that you are my BIGGEST influence in the music and writing industry! It was a delight to meet you in person, and see your actual band depart from us in a white stretch limo. Aside from that, I admire you, and your band to the fullest degree.

I think one of the things that I love about this (besides the awesome music) is just how casual he is- we don't seem to have that very much anymore. I mean there he is, it's the farewell tour, and he's got shorts and a baggy shirt, kicked off his shoes, doesn't even look like he's shaved in a few days. His appearance isn't his focus, not even a little.
He's there for the music, the rest is secondary.

This is just the farewell concert that they came together for well after their last album, he didn't usually look so casual.

For my fellow musicians and music trivia buffs: If you listen to the studio version and how the tracks are panned, it is very reminiscent of The Beatles' later recordings.I bought the 'Boingo' CD when it was first released and this is one of my favourite tracks.

I always figured this song for a spiritual successor to "She's Leaving Home", and yeah, The Beatles' influence on Danny cannot be understated.

Danny Elfman is an absolute musical genius. He takes all aspects of music. This song sounds a little bit like a Phish song in some ways.

Sorry...never happen. Danny has moved on, and is not interested in a reunion. That's a big part of the reason he released the "Oingo Boingo" name to Johnny Vatos, who has reunited many original members with a very talented group of new ones for Oingo Boingo Dance Party.

I don't think there's anyone in this entire world more out there, brilliant, respected - my God, I have no words appropriate enough to describe Danny Elfman!! I LOVE YOU, DANNY & ALWAYS WILL!!
I crossed paths with him in 1981 in Providence, RI & had no clue who he was then - please forgive me Danny; it will soooo never happen again - you can pound on me anytime -> I've been a bad "Little Girl"!!

sadly Danny can't tour if they did a reunion tour like they did in 2010 I believe. It is because he has ireversible hearing damage as a result of his continuous exposure to the high noise levels involved in performing in oingo boingo and a possible genetic predisposition to hearing loss. That being said I wish I could have seen them live. I have listened to them since in was about 8 and that was the last year they stopped touring :(

I had the opportunity to see them live several times in the 80's. Even got to see and hear them perform Weird Science. Very rare even after it was released in 1985.
