This was the first song of theirs I ever heard... in the record store in Norfolk - I said to myself "What are they playing? I i love it!" Found out, bought the cassette for my car and then listened to it non-stop, I was hooked!!!
I was a narrow-minded metalhead in 1982, hanging out with my narrow-minded metalhead friends at some strange house. The person who lived there had Nothing To Fear on cassette, and I was intrigued by the album art. I put on the tape, which had this track already in progress. I ended up looping this amazing, indescribably wicked fucking song endlessly, and one of my idiot friends in particular was definitely NOT getting the appeal. Soon after, we all ended up going out driving somewhere (probably to get beer, booze or buds) and I slyly brought the cassette along for the ride. On the road, my idiot friend finally hit his limit and angrily popped the taped OUT of the car stereo and threw out the fucking car window. I was livid, but probably not nearly as pissed off as the person who owned the cassette. Whomever that person was, I wish I could thank them today for the nearly 40 years of Oingo Boingo enjoyment that ensued.
nice upload. this definitely takes me back. in the 80's, my buddy set up a man cave in his garage and i would bring my vinyl of nothing to fear and five or six of us would drink beer and listen to this song incredibly loud over and over. good times...

I got my dvd copy for 30 bucks at Tower Records when they were on the cusp of shutting down forever. So happy to find it that I got home threw it in and got fuckin' fucked up on Budweiser beer. Passed out with the dvd menu playing "Dead Man's Party" over and over again...
@Romney Mcgruber I don't blame the man for wanting to be done with it. It is his Private Life, and he is Not [Our] Slave. For various reasons he wanted to move on. I can understand him wanting to do a little bit of a "la-la-la I can't hear you" thing so as not to encourage hype, or give false hope of a reunion, since fans of a thing can get pretty.... intense about wanting a thing back. He has recently begun to reference Boingo a bit more in recent years (from the performances of Dead Man's Party at the end of the NMBC Hollywood Bowl shows, to announcing that Boingo will be represented in his Coachella appearance, to some of his social media stuff), so I guess enough time has passed that he is maybe getting a little nostalgic about it again, but I don't expect a reunion. I think we should respect his right to be about what he wants to be about now.

It was a long goodbye then. I went to six dates on that tour and he pretty much did that every time.
