I had trouble with my Neenah paper. Then I read somewhere that the smoother the paper, the better. So I tried my Xpress-it paper that I bought for Copic colouring. I don’t use it as much as my Neenah for copics because the Neenah is a brighter white and I like that. So my Xpress-it was just sitting around. WORKS BEAUTIFULLY!! I even inked some with an ink pad direct to paper and then foiled so I could have a coloured background. Worked great. I’m sure you could ink blend too, instead of a flat colour that I did.
Nancy, you are the best YT demonstrator n MHO. You explain everything in such detail. I just bought the Glimmer machine and am watching all your videos before I purchase the paper and more foils. Thank you so much.💗💜🤗👌🏻
Thanks for doing this comparison. I love how the white foil looks on the Spellbinders Black. Also appreciate you trying the CC on the glimmer. Now I don’t need to warm up the minc just to use waste.
Lol. I think video was inspired by my question today. I have good 110 lb from Hobby Lobby for card bases but use cheaper paper for card fronts usually for stamping but never thought about it not being great for foiling. Thanks for this video! I’ll get better paper. 🤗😊
Replay one year later as I finally purchased a Glimmer machine since I love Betterpress system,&plates, and will give me so much versatility. I appreciate your tutorials. I clicked on the link for foiling friend that you recommended but says item is no longer available. Any where else to purchase?
I had a lot of trouble with those b&w hot foils, even when trying to apply my waste to the toner sheet. It’s comforting to see it was a tad troublesome for you too. 😅
I was going to order paper from there, but the postage alone was almost $40. I would have loved to try the white and colored toner paper for foiling, but I can't with the postage so high. Thanks for the video.
Hi Nancy, I love watching your videos. But one I haven't seen yet if you've made it or not but, what can one do if you get foil on your stamp die when foiling and placing your foil face wrong way. I know this was stupid but it happened lol 😆 hopefully you have good answer. XoLetty.
Nancy you said on the video that if you had underfoiling you would cover/repair it with a pen. I looked on your Amazon shop and didn't see anything... What type/brand pen would you recommend using?
Hi Nancy! I've requested to join the Foiling Snobs Club last week and my request was not honored. So, I did a request again tonight. Is there something missing? I knew you were offering your class at the end of last week and I'm sure I missed it.
Thank you for doing this for everyone Nancy. Do you recommend colouring white cardstock with ink after foiling as opposed to using coloured cardstock? X
Your video makes my inner information junky so happy, thank you!
Happy to help!
Great information. Love your nails. Pat.😊
Nancy being Nancy. Thank you so much!❤
Hello Nancy and everyone.

Thank you so much for this information! I really didn't know which paper to get until I saw your comparisons!
Great comparison of all the papers.

Good evening everyone from New Jersey
Good evening Nancy 🌻

I was happy to see the Crafty Critta toner sheets work too!
Thank you for taking the time to show us all this information. ❤️
A great video....thanks for all you do!!
Thank you for showing us this.:)

No, I had this video on my mind when we started to run out of paper. Figured people had some of these others in stock. But I'm glad if it helps you. 😀
@@NancyStamps would smooth 60 lb with the chameleon be ok for card fronts? It’s cheaper for now to try. Thanks
So helpful! Thank you!
Thank you, Nancy, for showing us the difference in papers.
Thank you . This was a great video.

No, it's been discontinued

That's because they have opaque finish. The single black from Glimmer is glossy, much easier to use.

Is that after you convert to US $$? I give other options in the Foiling Snobs Club on Facebook

Easy to do, here's the video

No special marker for black. Here are options for "foiled" mistakes. th-cam.com/video/Jv5668NHS4c/w-d-xo.html

You have to make sure you answer all the questions and agree to the rules when you apply. Try again I'll look for it.

Your foiling will come out better on the white. Colored cardstock is finicky.
@@NancyStamps thank you Nancy
Can you foil on yupo paper and acetate?
Yes. Use heat safe acetate and thicker Yupo. These will usually warp with extended heat exposure so be quick.
is there such a thing as a bad roll of hot foil?
Yes, I've seen some that flake off or don't transfer. Usually very old.
