I have to admit when I first saw this pop up on my TH-cam algorithm, I almost didn’t click on it because I got so burned out by all the apartment tours all with the exact same style, and mostly only in NY/CA. But I’m really glad I clicked on yours! I love your DIYs, the touches of rattan, wood, and plants, and you’ve managed to make the place look very elegant, intentional, and down to earth. Can I ask a question about the peel n stick tiles on your bathroom floor? Did you put them on a flat surface? Wondering if I could put them in my half bath but I would be laying them over existing tile squares (with grout in between the squares. ). Wondering if you think it would work on that?

This is near Merced Heights - close to the Daly City border! It's a somewhat older building (1950s), but the rent is affordable compared to the rest of SF. You should tour & get a feel for both options! Modern & older building complexes have their pros/cons, and the neighborhood also plays a big role too!

Think you got ripped off paying that much for a small apartment. You are better off renting a small room and invest the rest of the money in an index fund or a down payment for a house. If you are renting an apartment like that, you are just throwing money away and making some else rich. I used to rent also but realize I was just wasting money. I work in tech and I bought my house in late 2019 for 800K. Now it is worth $1.2M. House was old and needed some repairs but I learned to fix a lot of it myself by watching how-to videos on TH-cam. The best investment I every made was buying a house in San Jose. No apartment living will ever beat having a full front yard , garage, and back yard along with a driveway and your own property separated by a fence. I was able to put down 20 percent down for my house by living really cheap and investing in Vanguard index funds. Good luck to you.
