      New? That filter looks like it's been in that air handler for a year and so much dust on the door vent? Maybe they took this ac unit out of an older trailer and put it in this new one.

  • @joelperigo7213
    @joelperigo7213 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    Curtis, that first one doesn’t have a condensate trap, that is why the condensation is getting sucked into the blower compartment.

    • @jasonlwhite3764
      @jasonlwhite3764 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They generally place the trap under the house where the line set comes up through the underbelly.

    • @joelperigo7213
      @joelperigo7213 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a possibility, but in order to better serve the customer, it should always be verified. In order to verify without crawling under the house, all you have to do is dry fit a trap at the termination outside and then start pouring water into the drain pan. If there is indeed a trap under the house, adding a trap outside will create a double trap/air trap situation where the system will not drain. If you find that the system drains freely with the trap installed outside, that means it is the only trap on the system, and there is not one under the home. In the case where an air vent has been added at the trap under the home, you will not have an air trap and it will still drain freely, but it is better to be safe and err on the side of protecting the equipment. I see so many installs where there is no trap installed on air handlers, and blower motors/electrical controls fail within a couple of years because of all the water that is getting dumped onto them.

    Carrier’s Smart Comfort slap coil starting with NADA have a know water issue! Change the coil to NAUA and it will fix the water issues. Up flow vs down flow. Put the up flow in even though the system is down flow.

    Small magnetic tray that you can find at automotive shops. They will hold all the screws you take out together inside they tray so they do not accidentally get scattered around. They can also stick to the metal housing on the side of the HVAC unit so you can keep the screws off the floor and away from your feet or other objects that you might move around while working.
    Same for working on the condenser unit outside. Never have to worry about losing screws or small parts in the grass or lose dirt.

  • @DavidTheComputerGuy

    The water might be because of a bad coil. I have a 2021 Clayton home with the same air handler and had problems with water on the floor under it. They had to replace the coil because it was poorly designed. The lines came into the middle of the coil, which caused a warm spot. So, the condensation would leak off of the coil before getting to the pan at the bottom. Luckily, my warranty covered all but a small deductible. In total, it would've cost me almost $1,800!

      As a 2.5 million+/year installer I agree installers should always test operations. That being said it’s hard to find good help nowadays and the jobs keep coming in…. I can go weeks without seeing my family much because of how busy I am and how much I have to do, due to lack of good help. I can see an installer now and again so booked he has little time and help and cuts corners…. Just a thought. Or could just be lazy… I know the last thing my job allows is this “laziness” you speak of. Also, depending on where you are in the states new con installers don’t even touch the low voltage or high voltage.

    I don't understand why there are so many orange wire nuts used for low voltage that I've seen in your videos. Blue would do the job much better.

      @@grandinosour So the owner didn't change the filter before he rented it out again?

    • @grandinosour
      @grandinosour 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dirtroadsailing6418 Apparently so....the creator stated at the beginning of the videos that one trailer was brand new and the other had a tenant who just moved in.
      Some landlords hire prep crews to prepare a unit for rental and they got lazy....
      I will not just trust a tenant to just change a filter on their own accord...I will verify with a whole house maintenance inspection every 3 months.
      Interesting the homemade label on that air handler stated to replace the filter every 90 day's...really?...It's once a month in rental units to account for smokers, pets, and candle lovers for me.

      Ecobee was blank, replaced the 3 amp fuse and all came back on. But outside unit won't respond. Led 1 and 2 blink red together. Board states normal operation. What should I do nxt
