Zach if you expect to use this as a tractor to move the animals around the yard you really do need to make those bottom boards that will be dragging much sturdier hun. good luck with it and thnx for sharing your lives on the farm with us. I BLESS you r family.
Love your videos. Watching several different Homestead videos I have decided that I want some chickens. Now I just have to convince my husband. Love you all
That is not a bad price at all for what you get out of it! That little shelter will last a long time too! I'm going to copy this build for my dogs because we have a small back yard & this would fit perfectly & be cute to look at too!
I guess I know what I am going to be building this spring.. My teen son will have his little camp out spot..lol And I was thinking about getting more chickens! Thanks guy's for sharing this project!!
Just a tip using corrugated tin etc. always put your screws in the hills not the valley. This way no water sits around the base of the screw. And it lasts longer
Thanks for the video, think that’s what we will build at my moms farm, for animals. If you cut a lot of metal on the farm it’s time to get a grinder tool..... they only cost around $30 canadian, not sure what they cost in the USA but so much fun! Real easy tool to use worth it!.
Hey I seen where Doug from off grid with Doug and Stacy, made a meat chicken coop and he says it only cost 50 bucks to make it.It did look kinda neat, but that goat shelter looks awesome, great job Zac.Can't wait to see more projects.
I was thinking about painting flowers or animals or something that makes you feel happy on the tin sidings. If you are not an artist like me, I’ll bet you could find some fun stencils and the kids could help too. It would be really fun for me to watch the decorating process 🙋♀️🦋💜
I use a hand saw. I don't like chain saws cause they could kill me. I'm a clutz. LOL Good job on the build. .I will eventually need something for my chickens whenever I get them. Still having to work a corporate job here and living in the city. I can't wait to change all of that. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. God Bless! Carmen
wonderful job and mulit functional, sounds like a great goat plan too. Just for safety, the goats will be jumping around, you may want to us Gorilla tape to tape the stanted edges of the tin so the goats wont cut themself as they jump around. Hope you dont mind the tip, you guys are amazing, cant wait to see whats next, great job on the homestead
Nice A frame structure! Thanks for showing us how to build one! The goats will sure love it on colder, rainy or snowy days. Can't wait to see all of the other A frames that you build. Blessings to you all! 👏💞👍🐏
Yes, Great job, I'm going to build one. It was 75 sat and 70 today. Here in Enid Oklahoma. Tomorrow its going to be 22..... Ouch!!!! Love the video. cant wait till spring so I can make one, Thanks..
oh Zach...you're so funny! At the end 23:38, you said you didn't need any "altercations" to the build. I know you meant "alterations" but I can't help it-it's so perfect! It's a great structure, clever design, and just right for your animals :)
Wow!! I love it!! And yes, can be used for so many different things! I love building things with wood, and this is definitely something I can do. Thank you for sharing!!
Built it just in time, before bad weather. Hey just FYI. You can turn skillsaw blade backwards and cut metal roofing. It works really well. Just wear ear protection,it’s a little loud
Wow!! You made that shelter so simple! And it's so cute!!! 😂 Something like this would be awesome to grow luffa on! A Luffa house. Lol And I've always wondered if I could just use my little chainsaw to cut boards & now I know!! Awesome video!
I am sure you could somehow stake it down so the wind doesn't haul it off.I was thinking club house for the kids when I first started watching you build.Great idea for many as you said. Good joB!!!
Great job , love watching y'all growing and expanding ! Ah yeah , we're at least 5 hours maybe more , south of you and we're going to be in the teens ! Y'all might even get some flurries over the next week...better you than me!🤣😂 Love y'all ...Be blessed.
Genius!! Hey Wyatt! If you add standing pallets as a bottom wall and set the A-frame on top.....OMG!! Beautiful! Kevin at Living Traditions Homestead has built what I call "The Quack Shack" for their ducks and used pallets for the walls but his is 2 pallets tall, y'all only need one with the A-frame, check out how he done his, even though I know you have the know how to do it yourself, it's available if you need to reference it. Great job. You know it's kinda like my green house make up or the bones anyway. Lol. I'm using the old A-frame style swing set as a repurposed A-frame. And not to be a Debbie Downer, just sharing 2 of my past experiences with the Tin like you used. One summer about 8 yrs ago, I was helping my uncle mow a neighbor's yard. They had used the Tin as roofing for a pump house and I was going to pull some weeds by only bending over and brace with my forearm against the Tin......OUCH!! Next day I had a 1" tall water blister from my elbow to halfway before my wrist. The temperature was about 97° that day and drought season. When my son was about 6 yrs old he was racing his brother to get the phone that was ringing and fell. He tried to break his fall of course, by putting his hands out in front and caught the Tin between his fingers and palm on the edge and had to have surgery to reconnect nerves, tendons and ligaments. I just wanted to tell you about those two accidents in order to paint a vivid picture when I say......"Y'all be careful around that tin, it can be dangerous." I hope y'all have a great week ahead. Much Love and God bless.
Love this, it gave me so many ideas. I am thinking of building a 2 foot knee wall to raise it up a bit and give a little more head room and weight to the bottom so the wind would not be likely to blow it over. Any other suggestions for tie down. We sometimes get some strong winds. Great Job
It would also make a nice tool shed. You gotta nice wound on your left cheek...aloe vera might assure it doesn't scar, but will help it heal... I always enjoy your vid's.
Oh, Wow, I love this structure! It sure seems like Elsa And Anna do too! They were sure checking it out! I am in southern Indiana, about 3 hrs. from you, Tuesday's high temp should be mid 20's! Yikes! You are such a handy guy Zach. Jenn, he's a keeper! Oh, what is that music that played just when you were getting the other saw ? It was a beautiful instrumental!
@@StiversHomestead where did you get the original plan from? Just want to check them out for other ideas; i think i've seen this somewhere ...but, nicely done and explained
If you ever get a chance look into a kreg pocket hole jig might give you a little bit more stability when your trying to screw or to your base. Love the design and concept. I could actually almost stand up in this maybe! I am glad you have come to terms with the junk pile. I mean honestly we do all have a pile of treasures. They also make blades for your skil saw to cut tin I use them often. Nice use of Hardware Cloth. With it being used for the goats will you still use the door?
I think for the winter we will use it. On those extra cold nights we will shut them in there so they stay out of the wind. For the most part though, it will just be propped open.
21 boards x $1 each (comes in packs of 6) = $21-24 Tin siding $14 each x 12 -14 (or 6ft high build modification makes it cheaper) = total cost $100-150 structure each (1 for girl goats does, a 2nd one for boy goats bucks) It would be good to know if this has been anchored. Updates? With high winds, I’d be concerned that that could act like a trampoline and take off. Perhaps with some pressure treated lumber it could last longer, against the ground, but I don’t know how much that would add to the build. Overall, looks good! Glad to know the goats and their babies will stay warm and dry in winter and cool in summer :).
Ok, so can you come to Texas and build me one of those for a greenhouse? I could never do as good of a job as you did! You know, you could probably make those (standardize them) and sell them.
I have a chicken coop already but it is made from plywood. My question is what can I put over it on the outside to make it look better. I was thinking siding but checked prices and it would be expensive. Any ideas? I like the tractor for the goats, good job 👍
Put 1x2 battens every 12 inches or so and then paint or stain it. It will look like a board and batten siding. That is what we are going to do to our chicken house that is right now painted plywood. We were given it free. So we are going to put our own spin on it.
I searched chicken tractors and watched Doug and staceys & Sow the lands designs. They are both drastically different but watching the two I created this design. I’m sure there are A Frame designs out there but nothing that I found.
About 21 8ft-1x2 boards (19 no-cut; 2 cut for the back and door brace) 12 8-ft tin 1 top piece Door of your choice Wire of your choice Toss a few branches along the back for roost and a milk box or two and... CHICKEN COOP!
I love y'all so much. I have to say though lol its makes me twitch everytime you say your girly goats names lol The white one should be Elsa!!! Lol no judgment though they are your goats. It just makes me giggle
Awesome structure. And it is perfect for Anna and Elsa. They will be warm and cozy for sure. God Bless Y'all.
I know this was a bit ago I'm playing catch up...
This looked easy peasy...
Have a great evening 🌻🌻🌻

Just show up with them, that’s how Jenn got us initially started back in the day 😂 lol. Good luck!
Best comedy channel ever

This went together super quick. Thank you for this.
Thank you for showing us this build.
Nice Goat tractor build, LOL. Love it, the Multi-use Tractor/greenhouse/granny unit/ lol God Bless.
I guess I know what I am going to be building this spring.. My teen son will have his little camp out spot..lol And I was thinking about getting more chickens! Thanks guy's for sharing this project!!
would work for both projects you have haha. Thanks Angie!
Just a tip using corrugated tin etc. always put your screws in the hills not the valley. This way no water sits around the base of the screw. And it lasts longer
I think even I could make this after watching your video! Thanks!
Yes you can! Incredibly simple!
Nice job on the structure! I'm sure the goats are loving it. Thanks for sharing. You sure have great ideas!! Greetings from Wisconsin. Karen
Thank you Karen :)

If you use one clear plastic roof panel on the structure, you e got a skylight! We love ours. Natural light all day long.

Love your selection of music! Music....
That was an excellent video guys! Thanks.
Thank you! :)
Sweeeet! Great job and great shelter!
You could put a t-post on either side & wire over the top to hold it down.
Great little shelter, but you have added to your honey do list now,

A-frames are so versatile around a homestead! You'll have a little A-frame city going on before it's over, lol.
Built it just in time, before bad weather. Hey just FYI. You can turn skillsaw blade backwards and cut metal roofing. It works really well. Just wear ear protection,it’s a little loud

Very cool
Hi wyatt!
Great job y’all!!!!
Now this was really helpful !! Thank you...
It would also make a nice tool shed.
You gotta nice wound on your left cheek...aloe vera might assure it doesn't scar, but will help it heal... I always enjoy your vid's.
Another great video. Awesome stuff.
That's great I was saying that can be use for this and that and you said it Hello Wyatt and T Bird
Nice project!
Thanks Sunny :).

Love it, looks great..I see Zach got injured in the process..lol..I can't wait to see all the new buildings popping up now..❤❤🙏🙏
Haha that was actually from Rusty. We got to wrestling and I always lose 😂
Awesome 'chicken' tractor 😉😁
Good job Ppls ☮
Looks great! Are the edges sharp if the goats rub against it?
Funny how the goats knew the new house was theirs!
They think everything is theirs 😂😂
Awesome thank you.

The four legged mom in me is worried about the sharp corners of the cut tin lower left and right of the door?
The white is a rubbery poly that is actually very dull so we should be good to go :).
21 boards x $1 each (comes in packs of 6) = $21-24
Tin siding $14 each x 12 -14 (or 6ft high build modification makes it cheaper)
= total cost $100-150 structure each

i need a green house. Beautiful. What material is your green house ?
I thought I was the only one who loves my chainsaw way more than any other saw in the world! YAY! I'm not alone... 😂
Awesome!
Insulate it for the goats?
OUCH! Looks like the tin got you on the cheek... 👀
The fall back is rough! It messes with my sleep schedulle.
Looks nice if goats going in there what about a table in there for the goats 🐐 jump on and sleep and when it rains they can get on table
