Urban dwellers often spend a significant portion of their day stuck in traffic, which ultimately eats into the valuable time we could be using for more meaningful activities. The advent of flying car technology has the potential to revolutionize this by saving us countless hours every day. By freeing up this time, we could accelerate human progress, unlocking new discoveries and innovations that were once beyond our imagination. Flying cars aren't just about convenience-they could be a catalyst for a more productive and visionary future.
Yes, with the introduction of flying car technology, we could indeed be saving **thousands of human lifetimes** worth of time that would otherwise be wasted in traffic. If flying cars can drastically reduce commuting time, the collective time saved globally each day could translate into significant human potential being unlocked. Its been estimated around **1 to 2 billion hours** are wasted in traffic each day, which is equivalent to **thousands of human lifespans**. By reclaiming this time, people can channel their energy into more productive, creative, or innovative activities, potentially accelerating technological advancements and discoveries **many times over**. If the time saved from commuting was reinvested into research, education, or innovation, it could lead to exponential improvements in fields like medicine, engineering, and environmental science. This **"1500x" boost** in collective human effort could indeed have a ripple effect, fast-tracking discoveries and solutions that would otherwise take much longer to realize. So, flying cars wouldn't just reduce traffic-they could literally help humanity move forward faster in every sense.

It would be relatively easy for flying vehicles to be driven 100% automatically. They would still need to be able to drive on the ground for short distances in crowded areas.
My earliest sighting of a flying car was on the Bob Cummings TV show... Aerocar International's Aerocar (often called the Taylor Aerocar) was an American roadable aircraft designed and built by Moulton Taylor in Longview, ... It was previously owned by actor Bob Cummings, who used it in his TV sitcom The New Bob Cummings Show.
The battery is very heavy. I think the engines with compressed air may be better. I invented such an engine, and I hope will drive this flying car, which is a great idea.
Great! The risk of bystanders stepping into the path of invisible rotating blades is real and would set the company way back. Please cage the blades within aerodynamic ducts and/or lifting rings. These need not be massive, but only dense enough to carry forward their safety function. The rings could also be designed to slide into position by telescoping, so that they could stow, just as the blades.
Man, if you think we need air traffic controllers now, can you imagine how many air traffic controllers we would need if "everybody" owned and used flying cars? Sorry, not only not practical but would only be for the super rich, not everybody.
Most people can’t even drive a four wheeled vehicle yet. They run over people walking on sidewalk, kids on scooters, skateboarders, motorcycles, cats, dogs and even flip their cars upside down at the gas station.
It's going to be fun negotiating the roads and obeying all the traffic rules and regulations. I theorize that insurance is certainly going to be sky high.
Terrafugia was bought by Geely who intended to replace the Transition with the TF-X, a plug-in hybrid tilt-rotor vehicle. The TF-X was expected to hit the market by 2023. Geely seems to have given up on that for the time being. There are a number of video on TH-cam concerning that.

Very interesting! Now if they could combine their ideas with Nicola Tesla's designs for his self-powered electric Pierce Arrow car, they'd have it made. Tesla used an antenna to collect the weak radio waves in the air, ramped them up with a frequency amplifier of the same type used for early electric guitars, and tied them into the car's remaining battery and alternator (it'd been gasoline-powered), and ran the car all day. They could keep their current battery setup as a safety backup. A flying car with an infinite range would be a true game-changer.
