- As domestic borders were gradually eased in July, Canberra Airport has introduced a number of new destinations that were never served from Canberra Airport before!
Today I'm flying Alliance Airlines, a Queensland based airline to Sunshine Coast. The inaugural flight of this route was on 23 October, Alliance currently flies twice weekly from Canberra to Sunshine then onward to Cairns. How is Alliance airlines? Let's go and find out in this video!!

My son emigrated to the sunshine coast 12 years ago , great place ! Best fish n chips ever . Had the Barra . Liked the loorikeets in the trees in the evening with a drink in my hand with friends .

The best aircraft at Canberra airport can usually be found on the other side of the airport :) For those reading, not in the know, the airport is shared with RAAF 34 Sqn, and is thus a combined commercial and military airport. It is known as Defence Establishment Fairburn, and RAAF 34 Sqn is the VIP sqn, who flies the PM, and his mates, places, as well hosting foreign dignitaries. Yes even Air Force One lands there when the POTUS visits Australia. As you can imagine, the place is crowded with plane spotters when it comes in.

I had not heard about Alliance Airlines before this review. Still love the old planes. Canberra Airport upgraded to accommodate 8 million passengers, is there really that many people travelling to Canberra each year? That suprised me. Love your Flamingo T-shirt👍. Great review. Cheers.

Thanks Rory, this was just the video that I was looking for! I'm keen to book a flight from Canberra to Cairns via Sunshine Coast next month but haven't flown with this airline before. Since its quite normal now for flights to be cancelled or rescheduled due to COVID and if there are few passengers traveling, I was skeptical about booking this flight. There seem to be a good no. of passengers travelling so I'm more confident now that the flight will take off as planned. Cheers

Yeah I know it’s the same flight number, same plane, those who fly from Canberra to Cairns can remain onboard while stopping over in Sunshine Coast
Amazing video mate 👍, your lucky to not wear a mask on your flight, I had to wear one the whole flight when departing out of Sydney. Also love the engine sound!

Great Review, I really love these Fokker 100s especially with QantasLink, the legroom is amazing on these but the cabin does show its age.

Oh I would prefer to fly qantas trans Tasman because Qantas flies A330 to New Zealand
But maybe when the international borders reopen I’ll do it one day
But I’m more interested in flying Jetstar’s Dreamliner to Japan or Thailand

Recently it has come to our attention concerning that this airline has ordered compulsory vaccinations for flight crews. Without giving people another choice to test for Covid-19, these actions promotes segregation, restricts freedom of movement and is a violation of human rights. We will personally boycott your company and will tell friends and family to do the same. We will also mention it on our social media sites and encourage others to follow. We will also encourage people to make formal complaints to human rights and law organizations worldwide.
