I went to Holmfirth quite a few years ago with my mum and dad and we had tea in Sid's cafe and visited Nora Batty's house. I loved Last of the Summer Wine, they don't make shows like that anymore which is a great shame.
Hi Bob and Jenny. We watched this vlog straight after your family tree video, and as a long-time fan of "Last of the Summer Wine" I really enjoyed this video. Was delighted to see the locations being used to maintain interest and give more information about the show and its cast, and I'm determined that we're going to visit Holmfirth on one of our trips soon. Many thanks for a most enjoyable video. George
Thank you for tour love last of summer wine, have complete collection of DVD’s including First of Summer Wine. Would love to visit sometime once again thanks for tour. Stay safe and well xx
Last of the Summer Wine - now that takes me back to my childhood watching it on a Sunday evening with school the next day! Lovely vlog - have added to the list to visit - thank you, great to see all the sites - have a great weekend, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
My wife and I have been watching rerun's of Summer Wine on the drama channel, we forgot how good it was😆. We live in Bradford but never been to Holmfirth but plan to go this summer 👍.
I worked on 30 of the 35 year’s televised it was great for you to take me back to those happy days of filming. Such a shame they have all but a very few passed over but maybe making someone else laugh.
I liked you video, I found quite moving and sad to see the wonderful talent that passed, good for you keeping the memories alive, I wondered if you could maybe incorporate other tv shows and movies along with your visits around the country ❤️
My goodness, me & my dad ADORED Last Of The Summer Wine! We used to watch it together. The classic Foggy, Compo and Clegg era can't be beaten. So glad to have found your channel, Bob. They just don't make them like Last Of The Summer Wine anymore. I utterly love classic comedy, like Steptoe, Riding Damp, LOTSW, One Foot In The Grave, and Laurel & Hardy, it's all modern unfunny rubbish now.
another fantastic video bob and jenny really lovely that you take time to up load videos for everyone to see thankyou for sharing these have safe trip all of you
We live not far from Holmfirth and always love a trip round the town so enjoyed your vlog - never been to the museum or watched Last of SW . Matter of interest, Holmfirth has a superb vineyard well worth a visit - they do tours around the vineyard and wine making process and also a lovely restaurant. Superb views too Thanks as ever for your vlogs
Thanks for the Holmfirth tour! I would love visit Holmfirth and hopefully this year I can finally do it - by the way the tall bloke who wore the tan trenchcoat was Stephen Lewis as Smiler not Brian Wilde :)
Great video 😀 what is the term for the houses where one is up and over the other - where Nora and Compo lived…I did know it but can’t remember! Thanks both 😀
Think it’s an underdwelling. Quite common with terraced houses in this area although some scenes show Compo leaning out a bedroom window above next door to Nora. Just the magic of TV 😆
They used 3 houses further up the hill too for the other men characters the small one who was always chasing the lady with his bike. My Friend lived in one of them and they only used the outside and doorway for filming, she got paid £600 to stay away whilst filming 😊Marsden bridge is over the canal.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Marsden is a lovely village too , it is where both the railway and canal go through the pennines and comes out in Saddleworth, more or less side by side, in older days when they used horses, the men used their feet to push the boats through while the horses went along the top.

The town is quite a busy place, but surrounding countryside is beautiful.

Might be wrong but I’m sure Sids cafe used to be a shoe shop when not filming years ago
Yes, think it had been restored to Sid's cafe, thankfully.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo It was a no brainer really.
