Thanks for this. I really enjoyed it. Holmfirth was my hometown from 1970 to 2000. Prior to the filming of ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ much of the infrastructure was in poor condition. The Woollen mills were all in full swing. The river Holme used to run with many different colours when the dye works washed out their vats This all changed when the series started to be filmed there. The town blossomed and now the mills have all been turned into apartments and very nice ones too! I well remember walking around the town snd seeing the actors in the series. They almost. became part of the scenery and apparently loved. being there. As you said Bill Owen is buried in St John’s Churchyard at Upperthong. He said that he considered it his spiritual home. Next to him now is Peter Sallis who played Cleggy. The countryside around the town is stunning and well worth a visit in its own right.
Thanks Graham! One of the things I wasn’t expecting was the scenery as I drove towards Holmfirth It absolutely blew my mind! I live in North Sheffield so not far away at all but had never known just how amazingly scenic the whole area is!
I don't want to just visit, I want to live there! It's been my hearts desire since I started watching Last of the summer wine many years ago. But we live in Canada so it probably will always stay a dream away. Love this video! Thank you so much 💖
I was born in Holmfirth and lived there until I was 16 years old when we emigrated to Australia. I visited the town in 2000 and realised what a tourist location it had become, quite different to when I lived there. I really enjoyed your walk around the town and it brought back many fond memories.
Well said and the show is a welcome rediscovery for me...I always watched it with my grandfather who loved it. With locations etc the series was marvelous viewing
Now we have had a general tour of Holmfirth, how about a specifically "Last Of The Summer Wine" video? Including you going up the steps beside "Sid's Cafe" that the three main characters often walked up. There are surely several filming locations you could show us like the adjacent homes of Howard/Pearl and Cleggy. Suggest you start at the bus station so that visitors intending to come by bus can get their bearings. I'm from London with a daughter in Leeds and I did visit (or try to visit) Homfirth in the summer of 2018. I was on the 314 bus from Huddersfield and around a mile short of the bus station, the rain came bucketing down. No umbrella. I ended up having to wait in the shelter of the bus station and let two buses towards Huddersfied go before I got on the third one with rain still teeming down. Planned 2-3 hour walkaround abandoned
It's so nice to see this historic town with so much history behind other than Summer Wine and I myself have been here many times and it is good of you to post this video for many to watch in the comfort of their own homes.
Especially during COVID when we’re not as free to travel for now. Finding this channel is WONDERFUL for my sanity! I hope & pray we return to normal very soon.
I'm from Denmark and I have been in Holmfirth a few times:-) I think that Peter Sallis is also buried in Holmfirth, next to Compo (Bill Owen)... If you visit Compo's grave, remember to bring some cigarette butts to put in compo's wellies:-)
Jackson Bridge, where Cleggy's house is, and the White Horse, is small for a walk but worth it. You could go onto Holmbridge - 2 miles up the road - from there. Holmbridge is a lovely village.
Great video of a very scenic town , I always looked forward LotSW highlight of the week usually Sunday evening before back to the grindstone on Monday morning, It was escapism in to another a stress free life.
I love your walk of Homefeld seeing the film locations of the last of the summer wine. It brought back memories of our family sitting round the TV on a Sunday evening.
I've grown into these characters. From watching them as a young man to a sixty year old. Still happy to take a tin bath on to a lake. We're not here long, one has to be enjoy as much as possible.
Hi GimbalWalkTV! I posted the following on an older video so you probably won't have seen it. I hope it's ok to repost here...:- I think it's great that you are focusing on ordinary British towns and villages instead of just more videos of the worlds famous cities! These places deserve to be filmed, and viewed by as many people as possible. Would definitely recommend people try and watch these videos on a good TV screen rather than a mobile device as it's so much more immersive. Love seeing them in 4K as every tiniest detail shows up so it's pretty much exactly as the human eye sees things. This really makes if feel like being there. Judging by other comments, some people prefer the videos to have music, some people don't. Both totally valid opinions. I personally prefer the natural sounds as it adds to the immersive nature of the footage. Could i therefore make a recommendation: that for each of the places you film, you upload 1 video of it with the music, and 1 without. Then viewers can then choose, and it means more views for your channel!.
Very interesting! I see the traffic in Holmfirth is just as bad as when I last drove through the town. Perhaps you could visit the site of Aunty Wainwright’s shop in Marsden? It was quite funny to see the BBC staff bolting the imitation shop front on to the building after it was turned into a house between their filming visits! A very clever idea. The Marsden Mechanic’s Institute Tower is a local landmark and unmissable. One of my favourite locations is the entrance of the railway and separate Canal tunnel at Standedge where Compo had his adventures in the oil barrel submarine (a very clever radio controlled device in reality, I’d love to know more about the skilled people who made the mechanical props). Finally, I always enjoyed counting the number of times that the Emley Moor TV tower appeared in the programme. It’s a beautiful tower and I’ve been privileged to visit the observation deck during my broadcasting days (ITV/IBA) where you could see all over the LoTSW countryside. Yorkshire is beautiful. Regards, Rob.
Stunning, I so would love to visit, LOTSW is my all time fave, it's strange to see so much traffic when you only see Edie, Wesley, Barry and a few others on the road, always looks like the quietest place on the planet, oh yes to a more show themed video, thank you for a slice of heaven.
Great ...Loved it very much and yes we have been to Holmfirth......You mentioned St Johns Church...we walked up Upperthong lane, which is a steep climb to the church...we managed it but you have to been reasonbly fit to do so....but it was well worth the effort for the views and to see Compo and Clegg Grave.Such a shame Last of the summer wine ended but memories and repeats live on......Thanks again

Beautiful historic town of Holmfirth. Loads of atmosphere... Hustle and bustle of a busy town. This was delightful as it has such good memories of the show. I watch LOSW till I fall asleep practically every night.. it's just that soothing. TFS 🤗🦋.
I visited here with my late partner and my parents some years ago, fond memories they were big fans of summer wine, sadly they have passed, but this video is great, I must come back here soon! thankyou for posting! new subbie! :)
Hi great tour, I still love watching lasts of the summer wine and have visited it two or three times with my parents and we have eaten in sid's cafe, and visited the museum. But it used to be on the top street, and I remember it had a few of the props and c motor's gadgets. Watching this brought back a lot of happy memories of trips with mum and dad who have passed away.. Great video....
Great to see a video of a place local to me,as usual brilliant video tour really enjoyed it. I was once in the background of an episode of Last of The summer Wine in 1977 lol. Suggestions for future walkabouts from me Knaresborough and Skipton lovely places. Keep up the good work.
@Gimbal Walk TV. Thankyou so much for these videos.I have been to many of the places you show .My daughter and I used to go on many coach tours staying at various locations north of us living in Sussex.
Came here in June 2019 and it is a lovely little town. Had a nice cup of coffee inside Sid's Cafe and took the Summer Wine bus tour which is well worth doing. The bus driver is very knowledgeable about the show and takes you to a lot of locations including where some of the cast lived during filming. Also visited the church where Peter Sallis and Bill Owen are buried next to each other. The Summer Wine exhibition is excellent and a must-see if you come to Holmfirth
It is next to impossible to find a better place than Holmfirth. Holmfirth is the kind and size of town where I just would love to live! Just my cup of tea!!
Went there a few years back, brilliant place, nothing like last of the summer because busy traffic, it seems tranquil on the series, lovely place enjoyed looking round the town 😊
Thanks for Holmfirth, I live 10 miles from there and spent 30 years from 1969 working just outside the town on the Holme Moss road. I moved to our Huddersfiel branch in 1999 and retired in 2009, I've not really bben back to look round since, quite a few shops have changed. Trying to park at lunch time to pick up some fish and chips or a sandwich was a nightmare and driving on Hollow Gate you risked running over tourists gawping at Nora Batty's house. It used to amuse us to see them turn a corner in Holmfirth and appear in Meltham or Marsden, somethin non locals probably didn't know. We have a set of 6 postcard photoes of the May 1944 floods which my late father in law had, sadly I don't do Facebook so can't put them on your site.
It’s weird to watch this, when you live here it’s a different experience but I’ve always said that if I didn’t live in Holmfirth I’d actually really like it cause of the stone buildings and old town feel
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that John! Re Holmfirth - most people comment on the traffic more than anything else - it really is a busy village isn't it!
Hi, just found your channel and really enjoyed your walk around Holmfirth, somewhere quite a distance from me, but where I’d love to visit some day. As someone else said in a comment, it would be nice to see some of the other filming locations there...? Anyway, have subscribed and am now going to see where else you have been!
Love the place. Need to take my young family one day as I haven’t been for a good 10 years now. The only downside to the place is all the through traffic. Could really do with a bypass of some sort. Great vid!
I used to drive coaches for a living and here are my notes for when I went to Holmfirth with my passengers:- HOLMFIRTH An attractive town where cinema films were being made by the Bamforth Brothers only months after the first ever film was produced in 1895. The Bamforths are famous for their comic 'cheeky' postcards, still manufactured in the town. From the bus station looking in the opposite direction to Nora Batty's house you can see Bamforth's factory, easily recognisable by a row of white window frames on the first floor. The town and surrounding hillsides are now familiar to millions of British Television viewers as the setting for the popular comedy series 'Last of the Summer Wine', with its characters, Compo, Seymour & Clegg, (originally with Compo, Foggy & Clegg), see the exterior of Nora Batty's house and enjoy refreshments in 'Sid's Cafe', which really is a cafe. Near the 18th century church is a pillar erected in 1802 to commemorate the Peace of Amiens. On this, a plaque records the extraordinary height to which flood water rose in 1852 when Bilberry Reservoir burst and 90 million gallons came thundering down the valley, 81 people were killed, damage was estimated at £250,000. In 1944 another 5 people died from floods. Many local playwrights lived in the town, the most famous being George Taylor, most of his plays have a mill town background. There is a monument that you can see both from Huddersfield and from Holmfirth set high on the hill called 'Castle Hill'. This was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. It is said that on a clear day you can see York Minster some 35 miles away. The row of houses between Nigel Hinchliffes gift shop and the Elephant and Castle is known as Hollowgate. Not many years ago the houses were in ruins but now there are picturesque shops.
Holmfirth is also famous for its worsted cloth. PLACES TO NOTE AND HOW TO GET THERE FROM BUS STOP. NIGEL HINCHLIFFES GIFT SHOP Walk down from bus stop to bridge, shop on corner opposite. Here you can buy a guide to Summer Wine Country. SIDS CAFE Not so long ago Sid's Cafe was only a cafe in the summer, in the winter it was a paint and wallpaper shop. It is situated on the opposite corner to Nigel Hinchliffes gift shop and next to the church. The interior was filmed in a TV studio, If you look or go into the cafe you will see that the interior is totally different to the studio set. NORA BATTY'S HOUSE From Nigel Hinchliffes shop go up towards Hollowgate, past the Elephant & Castle (on your left), after approx. 300 yards look across the river to her house. THE POST CARD PUB Go down hill to bridge across bridge and turn right towards Huddersfield, pub on right, inside large drawings of postcards and reasonably priced meals.
I've watched every show here in the USA on PBS (public broadcasting station) I never realized their was so much traffic there! Always seemed like a small quiet little close nitt community.. much much larger than I ever thought possible...
Like most film locations never quite what it seems on screen much of the filming was on the quiet small roads around the town and no doubt when Places like Sids cafe were used time of the day and week would have been taken into consideration , lovely programme though and has a certain timeless ness about it. SIDs cafe were used
Hi loved this video absolutely marvellous. Yes l am looking forward to going back to Holmfirh to live again. Can't wait. Thank you for sharing this video did you enjoy the trip?. X. 😊😊😊😊🐱🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I think Holmfirth is just adorable and I am visiting there as soon as the virus abates. I want to know why my ancestors abandoned the joint in the nineteenth century to head off to Australia. Could it have been just the English weather? :) And I think the use of that camera for a walk-through is inspired; beats Google Earth.
Visited Holmfirth some years ago, and took the summer wine tour offered by a gentleman named Colin, as I recall. It was a lovely visit! We stay at the old bridge hotel for five days and visited all the summer wine tour hotspots. Anyone who gets the chance to do so, should do it!❤️
Been to Holmfirth a number of times with my son and family who live in Honley, just a few miles from Holmfirth. I live in Wigan so it is always a pleasure to visit "Summer Wine " country side!
Great tour and video. If your a fan of Last of the Summer Wine i would highly recommend a trip on board the tour bus, which runs every weekend outside Sid's Cafe. The tour guide Colin actually owned Sid's Cafe for over twenty years.
Gimbal Walk TV spent a lovely day with my dad there many moons ago. Those roads are steep,we were typical townie knackered. Glad filming was being done and Norah was in her stockings up a set of step ladders cleaning her windows for my dad 😂😜
Oh I love homefirth been in the cafe and right to the top of the hill.wonderful. A long time ago tho . Iv got it on my old super 8 home films used to take a lot in late sixties. . Home Firth looks very lovely changed for the better tho very 😊 lovelyDee Thankyou for sharing👍👍👍
Hi really loved your "last of the summer wine" video it was my late dad's favourite programme so much so that at his funeral we had the last of the summer wine music playing on our way into the church and dad's cloth cap on his coffin such a fitting tribute to a great man my dad and so watching your video brought back memories of him and the laughter we shared whilst watching the show, wish I could have taken dad to Holmfirth and had a cup of tea in "sids cafe" with him he would have liked that, maybe my wife and I will spend a few days in Holmfirth in the summer and remember dad so thanks again for the video it really brought a tear to my eyes thinking that dad would have loved the tour👍
My husband and I have been to these places 3 times last visit we went to the graveside of these dear freinds buried together we miss them all Yorkshire is a beautiful place to visit thank you for this video it bought back some lovely memories for me and my husband 👍😊💕
Compo Simmonite, Norman Clegg, and Foggy Dewhurst. Before Foggy we had Blamire. I have the entire series - including First of the Summer Wine - on DVDs , and have watched them all several times, with subtitles on ( a bit hard of hearing, or is it selective hearing? ) Great way to learn English!
@@JohnSmith-ff8vj I got all mine from amazon.co.uk. Please observe that seasons 1-4 come in two different versions: one without subtitles in English for the hard of hearing (Playback) and one without. I don't remember the manufacturer of that version, as I don't have it anymore (BBC?) Good hunting!
Visited Holmfirth 20+ years ago.Had tea in Sid,s tea room, well. Has to be done. Stayed in holiday cottage in next village. Visited Marsden where most of the programme wax filmed. Many years later visited Bill Owens grave,he said He always wz ted to be buried over looking Holmfirth. He was joined by his great friend and actor companion Peter Sellers of Wallace and Gromit fame. Bill Owen was great actor and one who always made me laugh out loud. loving your guide walks, thank you.
It's funny, I moved to the village next to Holme Firth and only became aware of the LOTSW connection when someone at work told me. Lovely village. Watched a few LOTSW episodes since moving here to see if I can see any familiar sights. Took my family to the Nora Batty cafe.
Whenever I watch anything about LOTSW I always want people to say this is where Compo fell in the river for the umpteenth time or ran out of control across a field. And here's where Howard & Marina were "discovered"
just searched huudersfield and holmfirth as i have to go there in a months time and gymbal walks appeared and i thank you for producing great videos and im now subscribed.
Great vid! I’ve been here only twice despite been about 30 minutes away. First time was about 16 years ago and had to stop in the road for filming at the cafe. Second time I went was about 12 years ago, I had fish and chips in the gardens. Can’t remember where the chippy was but it was delicious. Kept on walking 😀
Absolutely enjoyed this video. You describe parts of the town with Summer Wine locations extremely well. I looks a lovely place to visit, indeed. Many thanks for this showing, and may I suggest two other locations - Buxton, Derbyshire, and Denbigh, Wales.
Seen many a band at the Picturedome and had a few drinks in the Bridge Inn. You should go at Christmas all the town is done with lights and a large tree, this attracts thousands of visitors. A lovely town with stone buildings would recommend a visit.
Lots of thanks for the video. I Lived in England during 1990 - 1994 and watched almost every episode of Last of The Summer Wine. This video clip is special, nostalgic to me. Thumps up. Keep on your great work.
Came here on a coach trip a couple of years ago had scones and tea in Sid's Cafe I also walked down by the river near the Co-op and fed the ducks there are dozens of the there.

Thank you so much! Was in Skipton today to film it but had to rush home - but will definitely film those for you 👍
I've missed Holmfirth and my friends just out from there, hope to return soon, cheers for the vid'
You're welcome Jason thanks for watching my channel!
@Gimbal Walk TV. Thankyou so much for these videos.I have been to many of the places you show .My daughter and I used to go on many coach tours staying at various locations north of us living in Sussex.
Ah amazing
Thank you for watching - more to come!
Awesome - well said! Great place and really great for fans of the show too!
Wow thank you Both for that amazing information. Very interesting . I love the stories. . My very best wishes to you both Dee . 👍👍👍👍👍
ah, that was grand, loved watching that, thank you for posting it.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching my channel 👍
It is next to impossible to find a better place than Holmfirth. Holmfirth is the kind and size of town where I just would love to live! Just my cup of tea!!
Well said 👍👍👍
Hello from Canada. Thanks for posting this. I would love to visit there one day. Would like it if you could film where Howard's house is.
Great suggestion! I will try!
Went there a few years back, brilliant place, nothing like last of the summer because busy traffic, it seems tranquil on the series, lovely place enjoyed looking round the town 😊
Totally agree
The traffic is crazy isn't it!
Wonderful love it never miss watching,, so sad we have lost so many of cast.
Yes very sad / legends
Ah sounds amazing - some great memories of holmfirth there! You’re right about the parking too!
Hello from New Zealand, I have just subscribed and look forward to more delightful walks. thankyou and best wishes
Thanks and welcome!!
It’s weird to watch this, when you live here it’s a different experience but I’ve always said that if I didn’t live in Holmfirth I’d actually really like it cause of the stone buildings and old town feel
Very true!
I want to move in there! Went yesterday for job installation, got the job offer and wondering if I should do it!
Lovely place spoilt by the horrendous traffic. Great videos and i shall make sure i watch your travels when i want to visit somewhere.
Thank you Gordon! Welcome!
Appreciate the kind words!
Will definitely be filming more filming locations for you!
Love the place. Need to take my young family one day as I haven’t been for a good 10 years now.
The only downside to the place is all the through traffic. Could really do with a bypass of some sort.
Great vid!
Thank you Craig! Agreed about the bypass thing! Anything to stop the traffic there would be fantastic
I used to drive coaches for a living and here are my notes for when I went to Holmfirth with my passengers:-
HOLMFIRTH
An attractive town where cinema films were being made by the Bamforth Brothers only months after the first ever film was produced in 1895.
NIGEL HINCHLIFFES GIFT SHOP
Walk down from bus stop to bridge, shop on corner opposite. Here you can buy a guide to Summer Wine Country.
SIDS CAFE
Not so long ago Sid's Cafe was only a cafe in the summer, in the winter it was a paint and wallpaper shop. It is situated on the opposite corner to Nigel Hinchliffes gift shop and next to the church.
The interior was filmed in a TV studio, If you look or go into the cafe you will see that the interior is totally different to the studio set.
NORA BATTY'S HOUSE
From Nigel Hinchliffes shop go up towards Hollowgate, past the Elephant & Castle (on your left), after approx. 300 yards look across the river to her house.
THE POST CARD PUB
Go down hill to bridge across bridge and turn right towards Huddersfield, pub on right, inside large drawings of postcards and reasonably priced meals.
Amazing thank you so much Roy!
Originally (for the first three years), it was Compo, Clegg and Blamire.
I've watched every show here in the USA on PBS (public broadcasting station) I never realized their was so much traffic there! Always seemed like a small quiet little close nitt community.. much much larger than I ever thought possible...
The traffic is crazy here!
Like most film locations never quite what it seems on screen much of the filming was on the quiet small roads around the town and no doubt when Places like Sids cafe were used time of the day and week would have been taken into consideration , lovely programme though and has a certain timeless ness about it.
SIDs cafe were used
I came to have a look around Holmfirth one day, and by sheer coincidence they were filming an episode. I met and had a photo taken with 'Compo'.
Ah amazing!! Am jealous - would have loved that
WOW Lucky you!!
Foggy and Clegg. Loved every episode. Brings back childhood memories. Every Sunday evening without fail.
ha ha yes! So funny! what a programme!
Very nice. It certainly looks a lot more prosperous and 'ackled up' than it did when we left for NZ in 1978. Lots of lovely memories. Thanks.
I'm so looking forward to Holmfirh tour. We lived in Holmfirh for years and loved every minute. Going back there permanently quite soon. 😊😊😊😊🐱🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Ah great stuff!! It’s a good one! Are you looking forward to going back?
Hi loved this video absolutely marvellous. Yes l am looking forward to going back to Holmfirh to live again. Can't wait. Thank you for sharing this video did you enjoy the trip?. X. 😊😊😊😊🐱🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Oh that’s wonderful Doe lovely place 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks an interesting little town with reminders of a classic tv series
Yes very much so
Thanks for watching my channel! 👍
Thank you so much!
Stay safe and well my friend
Visited Holmfirth some years ago, and took the summer wine tour offered by a gentleman named Colin, as I recall. It was a lovely visit! We stay at the old bridge hotel for five days and visited all the summer wine tour hotspots. Anyone who gets the chance to do so, should do it!❤️
Been to Holmfirth a number of times with my son and family who live in Honley, just a few miles from Holmfirth. I live in Wigan so it is always a pleasure to visit "Summer Wine " country side!
Ah nice! Bit of a hike from Wigan!
Love your video, I have family living in Holmfirth and I live a bus ride away but thanks to your video I now know about the area that I didn't lol.
Ah thank you for saying so Judith that means a lot!
Great tour and video. If your a fan of Last of the Summer Wine i would highly recommend a trip on board the tour bus, which runs every weekend outside Sid's Cafe. The tour guide Colin actually owned Sid's Cafe for over twenty years.
Sounds great! I've not done that yet but will do!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I enjoyed it thoroughly & am determined to visit the next time we’re in England.
Who can’t resist Compo,Foggy and a Cleggy ? 😅👍
Ha ha so true! 🤣
Gimbal Walk TV spent a lovely day with my dad there many moons ago. Those roads are steep,we were typical townie knackered. Glad filming was being done and Norah was in her stockings up a set of step ladders cleaning her windows for my dad 😂😜
@@banksyc473 Ahh ha ha ha ha AMAZING!!! Lifelong memories right there! 🤣
@@banksyc473
Lucky you & your Dad! That would “make my day” (actually much longer than a day) if I could have witnessed that scene!
It was so wonderful-thank you!
You're so welcome!
Wow I bet your super 8 films hold many great memories! Have you thought about putting them on TH-cam?
Not really most of them are a lot of family stuff. Not watched them for years . All boxed away . Dee✉️🎥🎥
Very much enjoyed, thank you!
Our pleasure!
My husband and I have been to these places 3 times last visit we went to the graveside of these dear freinds buried together we miss them all Yorkshire is a beautiful place to visit thank you for this video it bought back some lovely memories for me and my husband 👍😊💕
Thank you so much for watching!
The characters feel like family. My day is never complete without watching at least one episode at night. ❤
LOTSW is one of my fave shows 😊 we named our dog Nora after Nora Batty, thanks for a great tour 😁👍
Our pleasure!
Beautiful Holmfirth....Last of S.W. also popular here in Ireland as is All Creatures Great n small.
Will see what I can do!
another great video brings back the time i could walk up the steps
Excellent tour of Holmfirth
No litter clean and tidy place something of interest
To most people young and
old .
So true!
Ha ha true!!!
I would love to know where I can buy the complete 31 seasons. Any answer appreciated. Thanks.
@@JohnSmith-ff8vj I got all mine from amazon.co.uk. Please observe that seasons 1-4 come in two different versions: one without subtitles in English for the hard of hearing (Playback) and one without. I don't remember the manufacturer of that version, as I don't have it anymore (BBC?)
Good hunting!
How amazing that they buried next to each other!
Real true friends eh!
Peter Sallis!
It's funny, I moved to the village next to Holme Firth and only became aware of the LOTSW connection when someone at work told me. Lovely village. Watched a few LOTSW episodes since moving here to see if I can see any familiar sights. Took my family to the Nora Batty cafe.
I bet where you live is covered in LOTSW filming locations too! Holmfirth was just a part of the places they filmed in the area!
Excellent video ,very informative and well put together ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you kindly!
Very nice to see again as we visited it once saw the places from the TV show very busy place
Yes very busy!
You showed Holmfirth as it really is. Lovely place but usually grid locked with no where to park.
Take the bus into the centre is my advise,
Good advice! Agreed!
Don't you just hate the scurge of modern times. Cars-traffic. I know i do.
I live and work in Holmfirth. A good vid. Thanks.
Thank you! The best complement I can get is someone from the place I film saying it’s ok/good 👍❤️
Fantastic. Thank you. We love your videos. Wondering if your ever come to our home town of Matlock and film the beautiful Matlock Bath?
Hi Paul,
Would love to yes! I've been to Matlock many times but to my shame don't know anything about Matlock Bath
Hey mate it's Andy how are u another wonderful video stay safe
Hey, thanks Andy! Am good thank you!
Hope you're well!
Thanks for this. I love Yorkshire. If not for a certain virus, I'd be there this month, in a town called Knaresborough.
I have a video of Knaresborough coming up Don
Thank you so much for watching my channel it means a lot to me 👍
@@GimbalWalkTV I'll look forward to it. Love that town.
Whenever I watch anything about LOTSW I always want people to say this is where Compo fell in the river for the umpteenth time or ran out of control across a field. And here's where Howard & Marina were "discovered"
ha ha yes!! 🤣
Hi we had a great holiday last year you brought back lovely memories to me thank you from finbarr and Yvonne ireland
Thank you!
You're welcome!
just searched huudersfield and holmfirth as i have to go there in a months time and gymbal walks appeared and i thank you for producing great videos and im now subscribed.
Fantastic! Thank you so much John!!
Ah you're not far from Holmfirth - great part of the country!
Nice place going to retire there in 8 months. Love the place
Sounds like the perfect plan Stuart
Thank you so much for watching my channel it means a lot to me 👍
Beautifull and clean city tour
Lovely place!
Agreed well said Ian! 👍
Lots of thanks for the video. I Lived in England during 1990 - 1994 and watched almost every episode of Last of The Summer Wine. This video clip is special, nostalgic to me. Thumps up. Keep on your great work.
Thank you so much
Came here on a coach trip a couple of years ago had scones and tea in Sid's Cafe I also walked down by the river near the Co-op and fed the ducks there are dozens of the there.

Thanks for watching my channel! 👍
Just love watching LOTSW you can lose yourself in pure fantasy and have a good laugh! Wonderful therapy. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
