    Thanks for sharing. This is just what I was looking for when taking a day hikes. Also, the prayer at the end was gold. Bless you.

    Very good kit. You have really thought about your tools ... you are on the same path that I started down 55 years ago. From this veteran may God bless you too.

    I like to watch what others have in their haversack and what they consider as important to themselves. If you take several people and have them write down what the 10 concerns they have for building a kit like this, what are the different items? What are the same? The 10c's only count as one. As I watched this video I was comparing it to MY kit and MY concerns. If I go through the ice and get soaked in winter and NEED a fire to get warm. You can see what one of MY concerns are. I think what is in your kit reflects what your concerns are! The idea that you are preparing is the most important thought in a kit like this. Food for thought! Keep up the great videos! I look forward to the next one.

    Thanks for your video. I've been working on my load out so I don't overload. I'm a vet and a recovering alcoholic. Thank you, brother. Much love. Be well, be blessed.

    Thank you showing your have a sack and gear. I buy a leather belt in dark brown at the Amish shop in Rockville,In. For $35.00 it's a thick leather well crafted. And use it too too walk my dog so he does pull my back out of place and works so we'll cause he now walk in place at my side. I just put the belt throughout the leash. I'm on a fixed income so I've been collecting things at goodwill and habitat for humanity stores or rummage sales and just bought a child's pair of carhart bib overalls the make carry sack that's under 10lbs. And will make a leather pouch fire tenders. And I've also crochet wool belt pouches for daytime items when my pants don't have pockets and will make a hip carry pouch.

    Hey brother. Question for you. Why a haversack instead of a small backpack? It looks awkward to carry. I have backpacked for years, but am somewhat new to the nuances of some bushcraft gear. God bless you and have a blessed Good Friday and Easter.

    • @OutpourOutdoors
      @OutpourOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HEY! To be honest a small backpack would be easier but the haversack is just a bit more traditional. Most of the stuff I do outside is pretty much for fun so I just try different things haha. God bless thanks for stopping by

      If I have my bedding, it will usually on my back. If I don't, my guitar will go on my back. I'm leaning toward the Haverstraw myself.

    Belt for my belt kit is not the same as belt holding my pants! !)) I don't carrying any metal bottle to hold water. In my survival kit I have 5 liter dry bag , and in my backpack I have two 2 liter club soda plastic bottles.
    I have a dog , she has to drink to , that why I'm so heavy on water !!!
    But weight of a any metal bottle to ammout of water its hold is not working out for me !! But I do have metal cup for cooking and boiling drinking water !!!
    Can't wait for your knife collection video !! And your belt knife is pretty awesome !!!

  • @behindthespotlight7983

    5:32 strongly (respectfully) disagree with carrying that volume of load out but without a micro tarp or 4mil contractors liner. There are 5x7 tarps nowadays that are slightly larger than your fire kit. Throughout the years several survival stories have emerged where the survivors said that having a couple garbage bags would’ve been more helpful than a knife. Anyhow great video and thanks for sharing 👍🏼

    Where to purchase items?

  • @ulperformance4087
    @ulperformance4087 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Unfortunately, an incomplete Bushcraft kit. No bivy, tarp or tent. Sleeping bag/quilt or sleeping pad? No food - energy bars, back-up water storage container(s), water purification method other than boiling and means to heat/boil water other than a wood fire. No weather clothing - essential. The Laplander Saw doesn't have sharpened teeth leading to difficult sawing with lock ups. I threw mine away. No whistle, survival mirror or multi-tool. Fishing Kit, Snares? My stove is a perforated titanium cylinder, 1.1 oz in weight that sits inside my TI pot for a wood fire or esbit heat cubes and a 1/4 oz container for alcohol both as back-up.
