I loved this talk. She explained all of the variables to this crisis so pointedly and concisely that anyone can understand what's going on! She's the perfect blend of explaing the science but also being the everyday person who is OUTRAGED about what is happening to well-meaning Americans of all ages.
When people 's hormones are messed up or when their body wants to hold on to fat or when they self soothe with food, or when they overeat because they have sleep or stress issues or THYROID issues, putting them on a low calorie diets and having them exercise MORE often times stresses the body even more and causes even more of a weight gain. That being said, that approach of calories in and out and exercising more is NOT for everyone. It can work for some ( few) but for the majority focusing on the body holistically is the best way to lose weight long term. GLP 1 antagonists have their place BUT need to be in conjunction with lifestyle interventions.
I love her she tells the truth about dieting and there is no Jillian Michael's diet. Its all about eating in correct proportion, exercising and stop eating junk food processed foods are full of junk u dont need kudos you Jillian tell it like it is.. by the way u look fantastic
When I listen to Jillian here, and her calories in and out and exercise more movement and theory she has been an advocate for ages, she is literally CONTRACTING herself. She is trying to defend her opinion of the importance of exercising more and counting calories BUT is giving other reasons why people get fat and processed foods that exactly hijacks the reward system or her talk about hormones and metabolism. It is OK to be wrong. I was like Jillian as well and subscribed to the way less calories and move more theory but I realized that focusing on feeding your body with nutrient dense foods has such positive impact on our hormones, cravings, satiety or metabolism that we don't need to worry about calories. Also, it is a fact backed up by many studies that the more you exercise the more you eat, so often times less is more. Not to mention that by focusing on calories and exercising a lot, people develop obsessions and unhealthy relationships with food and exercise. It's much more than our weight.
As an obese woman, i totally agree with Jillian, and i can see right thru the bullshit of these fat liberation movements or whatever they are called. However, i might see some benefit to "no food is bad food". U dont want people hating themselves, and feeling like a failure, because they had a pizza or an ice cream. Its not great, of course, but maybe lets not demonize food, which creates all these eating disorders. Instead, teach moderation and healthy lifestyles.
This is a phenomenal common sense conversation! I really love Jillian's humility and humor and she has a lot of empathy for people's struggles.
Jillian gets it!! Love her!
I fucking love Jillian Michaels!! No bullshit! She tells it the way it is!! 💪🏻💪🏻

Move more
Eat more... actual real food 🤷♀️
That's the true formula.
Or
Move more
Eat less... things pretending to be food.
It was unnecessary to comment on whether a particular scientist has slept with many women.
Take me to these fat-free french fries! 🙃 (j/k)
I could only watch ten minutes of this.
Good for you?
