So Casio rearranged the features, put them in a new case, and voilà, they have a new watch. I’m with Mrs. MWC on this one. Thanks for sharing and have a great afternoon! 🙏🏼
Got the “sand” color variant last week as a watch for fishing/camping. The buttons are not as obtrusive to use as I initially thought. It is very good size in my 7.25 inch wrist. Gives off a military type vibe for sure. Cant wait to put it on a metal case with sapphire crystal. Ultimate budget beater. Need to get one of those f-91 shirts! Thank you for the awesome content.
I already have a tide graph with the WS1300... Having said that, I wear that watch to the beach, so I suppose I could wear this one when I'm just by the coast but not physically on the beach... Yeah, thanks Russ, you've convinced me: I definitely *need* this watch.
Tide graph is quite useful if you live near the coast and want to make a quick trip to the beach. If you can do without the Royale clock dial I'd be looking at the £35 ws210 tough solar or pushing the budget to either the gshock g7900 rescue or gw7900.
I have a couple of Casio Tide Graphs, useful to me as I live on the coast with really high tides, WS 1300H & GLX S5600 G-Lide. They're both more practical with their larger tide graph and moon phase. I like the look of this new one though.
Have none of you had a recall for this particular model?? I was asked to return the watch by Casio Europe due to a "software bug". I don't know if there are any other issues, but in my case it was not possible to set pm times in dual time mode. It then also disappeared again from the local Casio websites.
It looks like the dash board of my 2015 astra very complicated with all the buttons but my being a boy that likes his toys it's definitely up my street
@@lawncrow you could directly contact skxmod to verify all 4 models fit their same case. If so then a 1700 could almost certainly be moved to a 1200 case.
Me too, but as you can guess, the glorious transparent resin turns yellowish with time... I am tempted from the 40th anniversary transparent square, and it's barely legible
I got myself a ws1100 and ws1300 and have found only the ws1100 is a good fit for my comparatively sized wrist while also having the tide and moon features. Greetings from Australia!
As an owner of a WS-1500H i can say it can take a beating... From door knobs and gate bolts. Im 3 large scratches in. And i gotta say i am legit seething for the WS-1700H I feel I need both of em. I still dont get why the moon phase is smaller i thought going square gives it more space.
I have a w-735M and it's useful, alarm countdown timer( reat for cooking) a loud alarm and a discreet vibration alarm, great illumination and a 10 year battery!! And all the buttons are accessible easily. Who's this one for? But all Casios are great even the budget ones......I still want a calculator watch...BECAUSE? BTTF?
It's cool! I like how the dials are different colors, but I surely miss the world time feature from the AE-1200. I hope they release a version with better buttons, but overall this would definitely be my daily if I lived near the sea!
My wife sent me a few watches to pick from on the Amazon USA site it’s like showing a alcoholic the door to the pub I would have the all some I do have but I don’t mind getting different coloured versions but I picked the one you showing now because I like all the features and Busy dials I also have fun seeing up the tide and moon features I don’t no Why you can not now pick up some Casio watches in U.K. shops
Casio made something amazing in this watch. Can't wait for it to come out in the U.S. On another note I'm so happy I put my order in for the Mad Hacker before this hits the shores of the U.S.A. I need a bit of space between purchases to tell myself I'm being disciplined 😂
Picked up the black model and LOVE it! BUT! If anyone has seen online, the Dual Time feature will NOT show or change to PM! sent mine in, and waiting to hear back on a fix or replacement!
Has anyone who purchased this noticed the dual time/second time cannot display in PM? Mine goes from 1159 AM to 1200 AM. In 24hr mode it will not go to 1200 just 1159 to 0000. I think this module is defective.
think i'd prefer to spend a bit more and get a G-LIDE square with tough solar, and tide / mooonphase. better dimensions and better specs overall. great budget release though!
when you have the backlight on, does it go dark when you try to use any other button? design flaw of the epoch.. I havent seen any watch reviewers even mention this.
The only thing that bothers me is that the accuracy as a time keeping device is rather poor. For reference, the analog Casio Duro runs about 5-10 seconds a month (rated at 20 seconds by Casio) and is $50. That 30 seconds a month on this, as tested by The Good Timekeeper, is basically where your watch will fall - it could be anywhere from 15 seconds slow to 15 seconds fast. Which is fine, I guess, but again, I'd pay $10 or $20 more for tighter quality control on the crystals. The original G-Shocks were about +/- 15 seconds, so there is a reason prices are still "budget-friendly" I guess. Most of the Duros seem to be coming in at about 5 seconds slow to 5 seconds fast, though, so it's a great example of a little more money gets you a better watch. As far as timekeeping goes. Yes, I love Casio. But we WILL pay a little extra for better accuracy, Casio!
But this model is still missing a lot of features: MIP display, stepcounter, HR Monitor, Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer, Multiband 6, Solar, bluetooth. Did I forget anything? Oh yes! Affordable price. Let´s say, 300 (in whatever currency you desire). That would be my instant pick.
And now another Casio I want... no... I need! Godammit!!! At least it seems to unavailable here, in the EU, so I have time to be distracted with something else!
I disagree on the screen… mine does not lose any legibility straight on vs. angle. Happy to send a video. That being said others have experienced the same problem. I think it’s a quality control issue.
This looks like the kind of watch I would have would have idealized as a kid in the early 90s, which is exactly why I want it as an adult
Right!!!!
Exactly! That is why we do many of the things we do.
You can sing? Wow, how can we listening more of you
You can gift one of these to your kids and it won’t expire for ages.😅
This is the perfect size watch for my ankles!
lol an ankle monitor.
I wonder someone has made a raspberry pi powered ankle monitor where you can pull your pants up and play doom under the table
@@thecompanioncube4211 it's called a phone, switch, Gameboy.. the list goes on.
Its a man watch , stay away girls
😂😂
Watches like this are why I can never save enough couch change for more expensive watches 😂 great show as always!
Sorry matey!!!
With such an action packed face It would have distracted me all 6years of grade school. That’s why I loved Casio all those years growing up.
Casio F-91W T-shirt: pure class. 🔥
It’s crazy to see how much your channel has grown. Keep it up!!
The analogue clock is pretty cool. It's fun 😃
Too bad the Dual Time on this watch series is entirely broken. Stays AM only.
You had me at Tide graph!!!!!
So Casio rearranged the features, put them in a new case, and voilà, they have a new watch. I’m with Mrs. MWC on this one. Thanks for sharing and have a great afternoon! 🙏🏼
I thought it would be way too big, but I’m surprised at how well it fits on your wrist. Fantastic review as always!

does this watch have a fishing assist function?

Im with you there. I already have a WS-1500H on my left arm and I need this one for my right arm.
Love it! I'm super excited about the Casio WS-1700H 🤩
I wish they had it cheaply available here in Australia, too!
Looking forward to your review 😄
@@deips74 😉👌
WS1500 was my summer holiday watch last year. Bought it whilst back in the UK for £23. Absolutely love it
I love how anytime I find out about a new Casio and look it up on TH-cam, this guy has a video 😂

This has to be the coolest watch of the year and i love those spider bug eyes.
ah man not solar I'm sad
Just received my Casio WS 1700H and I am ecstatic!!! 4:22

It's only February an this is already a top contender for "Casio of the Year".
Surfer here. I can confirm a reliable tide graph is a win for us.
IMHO the best part is it fits the same skxmod cases as the 1200/1300/1600.
For real? That will make this an instant classic
Is this confirmed? I'm honestly only interested in this watch if I can transfer it over to a 1200 case
@@lawncrow you could directly contact skxmod to verify all 4 models fit their same case. If so then a 1700 could almost certainly be moved to a 1200 case.
Restock dropped this morning, thank you!
A few years ago having become a bracelet swapper I took my TX by Timex with fake screws..... and did try to remove the screws..... Did not end well!
Got a ws1500h last year..similar to this but wo the tide graph and a circular dial.
I have seen their transparent GShocks recently and I am tempted. The ankle security bracelet has been removed so I have the space.
Me too, but as you can guess, the glorious transparent resin turns yellowish with time... I am tempted from the 40th anniversary transparent square, and it's barely legible
@@brunocraighero2460 I have a yellow G Shock and it is going black at the edges. All the best
can almost see hints of that mission impossible one that TGV is in love with...i like it though
YES!!! I’m in the US and picked it up in gray. Loving it!
That face is insane! The Casio is pretty crazy too! 😉
I like my Casios to be impossibly chunky, and to do mad/useful/stupid things. I'm in!
Cyberpunk style, I love it
Even if I'm not drawn to a particular watch the enthusiasm is always compelling. Keep up the great reviews 👍

📣 NO TO FAUX 📣 ... It's a no to the faux screws from me sadly. Quite frankly, it doesn't need the fake screw look to make it appear beefy and rugged.
Yeah I'll deffo get this one if it becomes available in the UK
This guy is the funniest watch reviewer I've seen!

Apparently the WS1700 module can fit in an AE-1200 case - I saw someone tried that mod and it looks pretty cool.
Yeah it dose look good in the ae 1200 case
Love the Casio watches and g shock they are tough and beautiful. And nostalgic
It's cool! I like how the dials are different colors, but I surely miss the world time feature from the AE-1200. I hope they release a version with better buttons, but overall this would definitely be my daily if I lived near the sea!
Funky looking watch and I expect this will be popular for colour mods.

The new casio WD 1700 'Spiderbot'...
Love it.
Would it be possible to fit a 3299 Module in this case - and get a GShock-ish AE-1200?
mate could you review Casio Lineage LCW-M100TSE-1AER
That is a good watch.
That's an action movie watch for sure.
Model: Oh, looks nice
Lug to Lug: wtf?
Ive been waiting for a review. Since it was all first looks.
Trying to understand the differences between the 1A, 5A and 8A?
YES! Tide AND moon phase.
Is everyone seeing the Amazing camera work here? WOW Mr Mad watch collector your camera is amazing at making these shots
In my watch case it is written made in Thailand. But in strap buckle it is shown casio china. Is that normal?
I own the Casio royale, I need this in my life.
Casio looks like they're creeping in to putting the budget range into the early Gshock range

Yes i do but you already know that saw your reaction in another revieuw of this watch
I just bought mine this month, it looks so cool
First thing i noticed on the profile shot are the buttons so close together. I wonder why? They are already difficult to push
Very cool looking. Reminds me of a Decepticon Transformer.
I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

Really like the square look and amazing price❤
I've seen it done if your not keen on the case the module fits in the AE1200 case! A mod I plan to do as soon as can get hold of the ws-1700! 😁👌
Exactly my plan too! I don't care too much for the watch but I always wanted a moon phase display, and that in the 1200 form factor seems ideal!
Wow. What a beautiful beast....
Where can you buy one of these in the U k or if you could share a link on the web.
Can you please make a review and size comparison of the new Casio GST-B600?

Is this watch better than Q&Q MMW3 series ☺️ thanks ☺️
Not sure my friend!
The serious question. You would put this ES-1700 in your collection. And another question. Would you recommend it?

3:35 which model is that? 🍻
Oh it's the A1500.
It’s bloody ginormous!
I prefer the WS-1500H as it is a Budget watch & more importantly it has dual time feature which is unavailable in WS1700-1a
Is that Lexington, KY Fire Dept?
Interesting that it's a new release with an illuminator as I thought they were telling us all they'd moved to LED's as they were more reliable 🤔
It’s an illuminator my friend. 2 orange LED lights. It’s the electroluminescent screens your thinking of

G shock Gst b600 about to be released, thoughts?
Can't wait for mine
Looks like the GD350 but more 80s/retro
Hmmm.... Great video as always. Watch dial too busy. Hard to read with 'my glasses'. I will take my newly acquired GD350-8 G-Shock instead.
Bigger than my belt buckle .. but love it
As a werewolf, this is an absolute win
Hi, from Greece, the dual time issue is fixed in this model?
Yes.
Might get the ws1600 just cos I can't wait until the 1700 lands in the UK 😊
8-year-old me really wants this watch.
Just got mine bout a wk ago love it
