It’s great to hear someone actually talk about the importance of the event of Grace as psychologically cathartic. I have had at least two experiences of Grace: the first, almost fifty years ago, was being able to quit drinking after realizing how much harm it was causing others; the second, more complicated, was being resuscitated after cardiac arrest, and waking up three days after a coma to find priests, lovers, and friends around my hospital bed. While these have not entirely overcome my “shame proneness,” they both seemed like spiritual interventions to get me to question why I should feel unloved. The few minutes of your video are the first I’ve seen to talk about grace as actual, and its importance in healing shame.
I don't know why . I am right now dying because of resentment and amger toward a girl who I think she humiliated me. Your video is the first one that touched me and changed a bit of how I feel. I am really suffering from anger and I have to study for my exam whuch is 3 months in ahead but it requires studying +10 hours . I van neither focus nor live a normal life. I don't wheather I should suffer from stress or anger . I can't focus. Hoping your instructions will be right. Because it has been 3 years and I am everyday mad at her. It's eating me up from inside . I just want it to end . But to sometimes to revenge .
Thank you for your honesty. I’m sorry you are still suffering today over what she did to you long ago. it is not easy, but you can change how you feel. Your battle now is not with what happened in the past. It is with what you feel and believe about yourself now. You may need to seek help, but you can find freedom from resentment. You don’t have to keep paying the price today for what happened in the past.
Thanks for this Dr. Baker 🙂 Please share your thoughts on how to overcome recurring cringe memories that make you grind your teeth especially late in the night 😣
That depends upon the memories. If it is guilt or shame over past events I have written a whole book on this titled, "Overcoming Shame" and have several videos on my channel.
When you use some form of technology (social media, videogames etc), your negative feelings are blocked (inhibits the amygdala in the brain), and when you stop and go to bed, all of the negative thought and emotions that you didn't process during the day resurface in your mind. Take some time off. Dr. K has all the advice you need on his channel I suggest you go check him out
Can i recommend that you list your book in the subject description. I believe many would buy it including myself. I couldn't find any info on your books anywhere on your TH-cam profile. I searched Audible and couldn't find anything either. (P.S. I would love to listen to a audio version of your books.) I see that you do have books on Amazon which is great, I just think adding your book info on TH-cam would benefit everyone involved. I've only listened to one of your interviews but can tell you have great insight into this area. Thank you for these videos.
Thank you. My book "Overcoming Shame" is the basis for this video. If you buy it on Amazon, then Alexa will read it to you for free. Thanks for the great suggestion.
I get it. But there’s a difference between religion and spirituality. I’m suspicious of many religious people, but I have a deep respect for spiritual ones.
This is easily some of the best content available on the entire internet.
Thank you.
I just found your channel and love your videos. Thanks so much for these! ♡
Thank you!

Thank you. I’m glad you had those moments of grace. You get it.

OUR SAVING GRACE 🕯✝️🕯
Best channel 🙏🏻
Best video ever
Are you saying to confess the shameful act that creates the feeling? Or to confess the feeling itself?
Confess the feeling of shame. And pick your confidants wisely.
decent topic, sir.
Thank you.
Your videos are very helpful, thank you. However, when I hear the word "god" it makes me feel very suspicious :(
