Try my best to get to the 10 essentials on most hikes, especially on those where I am unfamiliar with the area. That said, I scale it back for hikes around state parks and of course have a lot bigger pack for long hikes and backpacking trips. I'll do a video of that in the future. Thanks for asking. Google 10 Essentials for hiking.
I carry a wave plus with rebar pliers, rebar in place of the scissors, the charge s30 blade in place of the 420 hc straight blade.. probably gonna swap the serrated blade for a 91mm scissors.
That’s awesome man! I’m wondering how old mine is, gotta get a date on it. I’m sure there are certain things that automatically date them by what’s on it or not on it. Thanks for watching
I have the Ti-charger and take it everywhere with me- even when I go get the mail. What I realy want is one with a slip joint pliers, a metal saw on the file, a point on the wood saw for dry walll. And if it were 2 tools thicker we can add 8 more tools; add a awl with an eye, reamer, a scraper/chisel, hook, tin snips, small auger, a second blade-electrican's knife and a magnifing glass. 😃
You can slightly loosen the screws and figure out what tension you like for the pivot.
THat's a huge help! Thanks for that tip.
My leather man is so old it actually came with a leather sheath…I definitely need a new one
That’s awesome! So many good ones to choose from. I did a leatherman TH-cam binge session 😉😅
What do you carry for hiking?

That's very cool how you have that dialed in. I might have to consider some swaps to meet my individual needs too. Thanks for the tips.
I still have the PST my grandfather gave to me in the early 90s.

PST2 owner. Great tool but the newer versions ( I also own a wave+ ) are more comfortable to use.
@@TinyIslandMaine good to know!!
I have the same one as you. but mine is the chrome one. and I love it. A quick tip the Leatherman products are 25 year warranty. Last time I checked,
Forgot to mention that, glad you brought that up! 👍👍 thanks for watching
Great review. Leatherman is a great tool! Thanks
Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Cheers!
I have over 80 Leatherman multi tools but i use the Leatherman Wave the most 😊.
That’s impressive mate
@GentlemansJourney - thank you bud. I love multi tools. They handy to have around and they have different functions.
My Leatherman MUT is nice and all but it sits in the top drawer. My Gerber Flik goes out with me normally.
See, now you got me researching what that tool is like! Cheers and thanks for watching and giving me more stuff to look at!!
That is a nice lock blade 👌
Really is!

Love it! Now we are talking. Cheers for watching.
Good tool but the ergonomics of accessibility of the interior tools is poor for $119
I’m struggling, hope mine loosens up. Not thrilled about needing to use a tool to get those parts out.
It takes a while for multitools to kinda grow on you. I was gifted my first one 4 years ago and i was apprehensive at first 😅 now i own 3 of em😊
Ha, love it.
Thanks for watching
Leatherman Wave is the best multi tool ever made 😊.
Solid review coming from you!
@GentlemansJourney - nice video my friend. No I don't make videos but I like watching them.
What camelbak bag is that?
Not sure if it’s discontinued but this one is very similar. amzn.to/3DzlvnT
@ you don’t have the name of your bag? I’m sure I’ll find it somewhere.
This grandpa has been using a wave for decades?
Love it!! Blessings mate
