  • Parking next to Crummock Water, Abbie climbs Lad Hows to reach the airy summit of Grasmoor, then ventures along the ridge to capture Crag Hill and Whiteless Pike. Then, depending via Rannerdale Valley, they are greeted by a blissful carpet of bluebells, said to have sprung up from those fallen during the battle of Rannerdale.

    Hi Abbie,
just to let you know the good you are doing for me. I’m eighty one and have loads of walking problems which I’m relying on you to take care of it by watching your vids and taking me out there. If when your low in spirit just think of me and the benefits you bring to me and others. Remember I’m watching your every footstep and wishing I was you. Thanks for all your vids. John

Well done at the start I always used to get lost.
I consider these videos are in my home territory; you have done the fells proud.

Living just 10 minutes away from here I'm glad you got to walk the route when the weather was kind to you,it's a lovely place and you can often have the place to yourself as most visitors to the area head just along the road to Buttermere & miss out on a little diamond of a place 🏞️

Thanks so much for this video, Grasmoor is a fell I've been wanting to do for a while and you've given me an heads-up on what to expect. I like the route you took and hopefully when we've beaten and survived the virus I can get back to the fells and summit Grasmoor via your route.

We did exactly the same route a few weeks later (late August) I had done the route before but after Lad House the mist arrived and we didn't see anything till Whiteless Pike. Also gale force winds on the on the way up but lessened on the summit. Great video.

Great video and a great area. When you catch the bluebells just right in May when they carpet the area it is just stunning. Can get a little busy with trippers out to see the flowers but gain a little height and you could be all alone. Love your enthusiasm and your smile is infectious!

Fantastic video as usual Abbie. Judging by the bluebells you must have been there about 2 weeks after us. Next year I think we will try your route as the views at the top of Grasmoor were spectacular. I just love seeing videos of places I know and have been too, the Lake District really is special. Regards, Ashley

Yet another inspiring walk! I'll add that to the list as I've never trekked up Grasmoor before. My last walking holiday was up in the Torridon Mountains in Northern Scotland which was breathtaking and evoked similar feelings of elation of being cut off from the rat race. Keep up the good work

Loved the views . I was also interested how at 11:55 , you can see behind you how thin the 'grassy ' part is , it's like a 4-5 inch carpet that goes all over the mountain. ( or was it just that part ) anyway thanks again =-)

Errm excuse me! Grasmoor via Lads How, then Eel Crag, then Wandope, then Whiteless Pike, then the 4km walk back down Rannerdale and then you say "Who knows what I will do this afternoon"? How about go to bed and sleep for a fortnight lol
