    Nice bowl 👍🏻. The way you’ve got your lathe boxed in looks like a good idea. Maybe you could do shop tour type video sometime.

    I always love walnut. Great job. Love that you just used your bare hands to apply the walnut oil. I do the same. Nothing in there to harm you, so why not. Lovely bowl.

    New to turning. Have not turned wet wood . Looks like it could capture ones imagination 😊.
    I would like to know about your dept finding tool ?
    Is it homemade?

    • @copperowlwoodturning5929
      @copperowlwoodturning5929  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nelsonpalmer4831 thank you for finding my video. Yes. Turning wet wood can be a great creative outlet. And yes the bottom thickness gage is home made. Very simple. The small piece of ply wood touches the headstock for a stop and ends at the nose of the jaws and the larger piece has a raised dowel that ends at the edge of the ply wood. There are also strips on the bottom to loosely hold them in the bed slot. When the dowel touches the bottom of the bowl the distance between the two pieces of plywood is the thickness of the bottom. 😊

  • @nelsonpalmer4831
    @nelsonpalmer4831 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hmmm, not much image of the gage - do you have it displayed elsewhere ?

    Nice bowl! Love turning walnut! I always 2nd turn bowls to let them dry to prevent them from warping. Do you have any problems with the bowls with warping? Sure would save a lot of time with one turn! Thanks

      @@garygilbert3894 thank you. Twice turning is probably the best way to do it. I do not mind the warping and I usually do not have any problems with cracking. At least with this walnut, but it is very forgiving and easy to work with. Thanks for asking. 😊😊
