Just know you are blessed.Rolf is amazing in his knowledge, and his work ethics.when you get the hull done, you will have definitely earned the right to own this boat,in blood ,sweat, and tears
With the paint stain in his head I've got to the conclusion that Rolf is an older, slightly worn out version of Aang, The las Airbender. Keep up the good work!!
Rolf... You do make it look more professional. I think its the socks.. love watching the videos. Just so you know. We appreciate you helping Huub. Can't wait to get back on the water.
Lol, Huub your comment about "construction site banter" was funny. Your right, sometimes it can get quite colorful and raunchy. Like the project and you guys seem to make a great team. Nice job, keep up the great work, we are all learning from you guys.
Hi. Yes, I agree with many of your subscribers; we are all learning a lot from Rolf. It is very generous of him to share his knowledge. I have done lots of small jobs in the past but now I would be comfortable attempting much larger jobs - even laying up fiberglass over my head!
Thank you for letting us follow along on your journey. It's very interesting to see all the steps you must go through to repair the damage on your sailboat. It's very informative & fascinating.🤗💖👍😁⛵🐕
To be honest, I started watching your channel when you bought this boat, And a was a bit skeptical how you were going to manage it to be honest…. But now with awsome help from Rolf that has not just helped you he has also teach you how to do it, So in the future if you buy a similar project you will be able to do it yourself with some guidance. Also please spare 10min to let Rolf introduce him self and his history….. Would love to hear it. And keep up the great work 💪💪👍👍 Cheers from Sweden 🍻
New subscriber I look in your comments and I see all these phrases on this guy Rolf So I start paying attention and this guy is really good. You really got lucky havin him work on your boat.
It's fascinating to see how you guys restore the yacht. An impressive amount of expertise not to mention all the hard work you're pouring into it. Looking forward to seeing the transformation. Thank you for the posts.
I've been watching your videos since you were showing people how to sail on someone else's boat, I don't know you but I'm very proud of your journey. Your Alberg 30 was beautiful but I'm happy you're working hard at getting this catamaran in the water you deserve it and i can't wait to see where it takes you.
I am really enjoying your content. Can't wait to see her in the water after you have finished the repairs from the storm damage. Keep up the great work. 💚
Huub, great video on fiberglass repair! I watched you build your first house on the ground in Spain, your second house for rivers and seas and now you are building your third house for the oceans! Impressive!
The hull keel areas were very light anyway for a boat that might have to dry out on a tidal beach or mud flat . So best beef it up now and spread future loads wider over the hull mouldings.
I'm learning so much from you and rolf in thjs repair, i imagine you are taking care of the cold beers for Rolf every afternoon, cheers from australia mate
I've enjoyed watching the progress on the Catamran. I have a surfboard that has some damage. It's miniscule compared to this job but now I feel pretty sure I can make proper repairs. Thanks for your videos.
Here's your new angle/brand: "This Old Boat!" You and Rolf sail all over the world meeting interesting people (in interesting places) who happen to need help fixing their boats. I'd watch that!
Hi guys, happy New Year to you both and I just want to thank you for sharing all your knowledge about five but the last thing I find it very interesting The way you are putting the catamaran back together again after being same damaged. Keep up the good work Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia. I’m on the big island
Wederom weer lekker bezig mannen! Huub krijgt er ook handigheid en lol in zo te horen. Van mij mag die Nederlandse humor er wel in hoor 😅 Veel klus plezier nog. Voor je het weet ben je weer lekker op het water waar jullie je thuis voelen. Groeten 👋
On the inside, use Evercoat 865430 White Coloring Agent in Epoxy Resin. It will give you a finished product just like the resin that is there. Easier to work.
Informative, and an interesting and laborious process! …also a messy, back braking work for the odd positions you guys have to be in! What’s the plan for examining the areas under the keel supports (wood timbers and metal stands with plywood), and repairing as and if needed? Same question for painting gel coat and anti-fouling paint on those areas? Have you had the thoughts that you’ve “bitten off more than you can chew” along the way with this boat and with the many, extensive repairs? …or perhaps a better question, how many times have you had that thought! I’d imagine you have and thought it many, many times! I would have!!! Keep up the good work and one day you and Rolf’s hard work will pay off!
Great work again. Experts. Question: In most videos you see people using vakuum to get rid of air. How can you be sure that there is no air trapped inside your repair?
Happy New Year to you too. Learning a lot and enjoying watching your boat come back to life. The music is great roo.....what album are the tracks from??
Very nice to see that you make that much progress. I hope you keep it up and keep your motivation, you really achieved much more than others on similar tasks. All the best and I hope to see you sailing this year.
The thickened epoxy does not only smooth the surface and create a fillet to prevent voids and strong angles, it also enhances the adhesion to the surface. I believe even the West Systems application notes say so. Did you check the lower edge of the keels? Hard to imagine they did not develop cracks when hitting the ground. Can this cat be beached?
Out of curiosity, how long has the fiberglass work for the outside taken? I know you have production / editing on top of the work and release schedules. Is this a couple of weeks or months? You guys have been working very hard it looks like.
Like it how you restore the boat and what you are planning to do. But 25 minutes watching stitching fiberglas or grinding and sanding is like looking how grass grows. Maybe Some other content to make things more exciting and looking forward to the next episode
Hee Huub, mooi werk man. Ik hoop wel dat je het kleurenschema van de boot naar iets moderners brengt, je moet toch de complete zijkanten van de rompen van de boot voorzien van nieuwe gelcoat of niet?
If Gellcoat is just colored resin, why does it need to be ground completely off to make a repair? You don't have to grind back un-colored resin like that. As long as there is a good toothy surface, wouldn't that be the same as when bonding any fiberglass repair? Thanks.
Please consider wearing a mask when cutting the fiberglass as the fibers are released into the air while you cut. You need only to have the right light when cutting fiberglass in order to see all off the particles floating in the air. These small particles are being sucked in while you breathe. Take caution.
You are getting a master class in fiberglass boat repair. What you are learning is as valuable as the repair to the boat!
I know, right!
Knowing how to do it and doing it physically are two different things altogether.
really enjoy Rolf especially his good humour and colour full socks what a great friend to have,
Just know you are blessed.Rolf is amazing in his knowledge, and his work ethics.when you get the hull done, you will have definitely earned the right to own this boat,in blood ,sweat, and tears

Yes! This is all turning out so incredibly much better as I thought it would because of him!
Great work again Huub & Rolf! Cheers Ray
Rolf needs to start his own channel on boat working! I think he could really get a good following.
I really enjoy Rolf’s channel 😜
Thanks! Rolf is a great guy!
Lol, Huub your comment about "construction site banter" was funny. Your right, sometimes it can get quite colorful and raunchy. Like the project and you guys seem to make a great team. Nice job, keep up the great work, we are all learning from you guys.
I get tired just watching, lol. Good job..
hahaha, I can imagine !
Your work ethic is unbelievable. Keep at it.
Thank you Dave!
Big damages all over the boat. Incredible work of both two of you. Congratulations for your fantastic work.
Thanks a lot my friend!
It is so cold here in Kansas City, blizzard conditions. Good to see someone sweat.

Fiberglassing upside-down very difficult to do, Nice job

"Neem maar mee", you are missing a great opportunity to teach the rest of the world how wonderful Dutch is :-)
" Neem maar mee" take or use some more. I understand, I speak Afrikaans, one of the South Africzn languages.which derives from dutch.

I notice no more talk of Danelia is she coming back?

Agreed! Rolf may not want to be famous, but it's too late. Would love to hear about how you got connected, why he's such a giving guy, etc. :-)
Another super video I am looking forward to the reinstalling of the water maker and seeing it working on e hull repairs are completed
New subscriber I look in your comments and I see all these phrases on this guy Rolf So I start paying attention and this guy is really good. You really got lucky havin him work on your boat.

A student is only as good as his teacher. Rolf, you did a good job being one. The student has become a master.
Lots of interesting stuff for learning... tks huub !!

Goeie werk Huub.
Dit gaat een formidable boot wees.
Dank je Mike! Ja helemaal mee eens!
Enjoy all your videos 😊
Happy New Year to the both of you
I am really enjoying your content. Can't wait to see her in the water after you have finished the repairs from the storm damage. Keep up the great work. 💚
The idea of a fiberglass repair business sounds pretty smart and the knowledge you are being given by the master is impressive!
Huub, great video on fiberglass repair! I watched you build your first house on the ground in Spain, your second house for rivers and seas and now you are building your third house for the oceans! Impressive!
Thank you Hubb for sharing
After all these repairs, it will be pretty safe to sail? In case of a storm, can this catamaran survive???
More glass More strength 💪 😊
The hull keel areas were very light anyway for a boat that might have to dry out on a tidal beach or mud flat . So best beef it up now and spread future loads wider over the hull mouldings.
I really enjoy watching your vlogs , its great to see Rolf willing to teach you what he has learnt and pass it on to you , nice work fellas 👍
Nice video. Thanks 👍😊

Absolutely! Thank you Jeff!!
Amazing effort! Nailed the title too 🙂

Your helper is funny , 😂😂
Huub - you and Rolf are doing great work. Have to ask, is Daniella still part of the channel?
Awesome video again . Is there a testing stage where the strength of repairs are tested in a sea trial ?
I want to know the actual number of weeks this repair required. Very hard work!
what a great frend to have superb job
Happy New Year. The boat she's coming along pretty well judging from what you've shown us. I'm looking forward to you getting her on the water.
Very good video, it is looking very good.
happy new year for you two guys too
Happy newyear!
💗nice work
Might be inappropriate banter but still better than the music. JMHO ✌️😊
Great work ! Happy new year👏🏻🍾🥂

Everyone needs a Rolf
Gaat lekker zo !!
I think your videos are fine in terms of closure and progression.
Don’t see you guys using peel ply , I’m assuming you wash off the amine blush that is created on surface of the west system epoxy before sanding???
Informative, and an interesting and laborious process! …also a messy, back braking work for the odd positions you guys have to be in!

Good video.
Will you take crew onboard once you're back in the water, like Parlay Revival does?
Happy new year to you 👍😂
Happy new year
How do you deal with areas that are underneath the blocks and stands that are holding the boat up?
Well done..
Thanks Bas
Happy New Year, great work :) go on show us the inapropriate chat with you and Rolf :)
hahahahaha, TH-cam might demonetize me loll
Great work again. Experts.
Question:
In most videos you see people using vakuum to get rid of air. How can you be sure that there is no air trapped inside your repair?
Rolf would make an excellent 1st mate if not a co-captain on your future voyages!
Your new thumbnail bar at the bottom makes the videos look like you've already watched them in a playlist like "watch later"
How do you clean the rollers? Or are they disposable?
Happy New Year to you too. Learning a lot and enjoying watching your boat come back to life. The music is great roo.....what album are the tracks from??
Goed werk man happy new year
Are you still on the hard? I’m in Carriacou, so was going to drop by and say hi.
Tot volgende week Huub 👋
Tot volgende week!

Hope to see you in the water and move to a port with better supplies. Will the boat yards cost more offsetting the increased supply availability?
That's the plan!

Yeah, if the keel fell off, that would be a bad day... You guys are too funny!
