I saw Clifton at the airport probably close to 10 years ago. He seem a little irritated but I spoke to him and told him he played a great Dr. King and he stopped in his tracks and said “ thank you brother” with relief. “ somebody finally recognize I don’t do silly shit all the damn time”. I could tell that meant a lot to hear that.
He almost told you to stop hit them corners to fast, spilling that yak on his $200 suit lol
Meet him at barber shop3 movie party. He looked mean so I approached him. Mad cool , funny guy. He had movie look on his face but was super chill and friendly. Great time

An actor that doesn't get enough credit for my liking. I have to edit because I was being misunderstood. He definitely gets his flowers, but I'd love to see him with Denzel, Sam, Morgan, etc. If he's acted alongside them, forgive me. From comedy to drama to horror and beyond. Clifton Powell is a masterclass actor.

This is how you know Clifton Powell does his job with 200% effectiveness: Not only does he play a role, he creates a soul for the character that is so real, that the audience is helplessly drawn into an alternate reality where they cannot differentiate between the talent and the projection of that talent. Clifton Powell has created iconographic screen imagery and timeless voice acting. This man is an inspiration. You cannot hide someone of this magnitude - they will always rise.
He said Angela Bassett makes 450K weekly and said that's 2 million a year. If she makes 450K a week, that's 20 million a year.

Well you know you good when you have people that doesn’t like you because of the many betrayals of villain like roles you played, they get emotionally involved that they can’t separate the real person and character, he captures the characters well mystique and mythical, I remember how good he was in the tv show the roc playing a drug dealer Andre Thompson.

My older cousin who passed was a singer back in the 1950's Roosevelt (nickname Eric former salon owner in Camden, NJ) would always talk about how nice of a person Clifton Powell is. He would always share how I had to meet him because of his good spirit. Hope to meet you one day Clifton to give you your flowers. My husband and I love your work.
I will ALWAYS be a Clifton Powell fan. I’ve been watching him since the late 1980’s w/ his BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE on “Roc.” Although yes, he has played gritty characters there’s too many to mention, Mr. Powell has played those roles so BRILLIANTLY that even when I see those past performances it still sends chills down my spine. It’s saddens me that folks can’t separate Mr. Powell’s characters & him being the GREAT MAN of INTEGRITY!!!!
Clifton Powell is an A list actor!! You either love him in a role or hate him. This is how much he puts into each role!!

Some of the most powerful dialogue I've seen is when Clifton Powell was on the show Roc! When he portrayed Andre Thompson and Charles S Dutton as Roc Emerson. The back and forth between those great actors was priceless!

This is one of the most interesting interviews I’ve ever heard. Clifton is very humble, interesting and at times funny.
