- Big relief for Assamese Chinese. Community happy for inclusion in draft NRC. All Chinese families of Assam are now happy that they find their names in the Complete Draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC). During the Sino-Indian conflict in the sixties this community was viewed with suspicion. They came to Assam during the British rule to work for tea industry.

These are han chinese and the assamese are not. We have very diverse origins.
@@rrghhfdc they aren't talking about Assamese. Most Assamese are nothing but same as mainlanders as well, they are talking about certain few mongoloid Assamese communities and other NE Indians. All other NEs except tai tribes, Mizos, khasi and kukis have Haplogroup O-M122 which is the domainant Haplogroup found in Chinese. The Mizosl/ kukis and khasi tribes have Haplogroup O-k18 which is found in Thailand, Laos and Burma.
@@riturajgogoi853 we don't have mongolian ancestry. Perhaps you are confused with the race called as "Mongolian" & "Mongoloid" and the ethnic group called as "Mongolian" or "Mongol". The Chinese also fall under the anthropological classification of race called as Mongoloid but they are not Mongols.
Most NE Indians have Haplogroup O-M122 which is the same as in Chinese. Except for kuki-chin-mizo and Khasi who have dominant Haplogroup as O-k18 which is found in thai, laos Cambodia etc.
@@melodiousquack4353 Not all assamese are like mainlanders. You mean to say ahom, koch, chutia, moran etc are same as mainlanders? While I completely agree that we are not fully mongoloid(many assamese claim to be fully mongoloid btw), it is still significant. Even most kalitas will score mongoloid. Just saw a kalita guy score about 27% mongoloid in 23andme.
