Have been running the 37c tan wall version for about 2500km. I have not had a single flat and I have been riding around 80% gravel and the rest on tarmac. The tires are very fast on tarmac and hard packed gravel. I run then with only around 30psi (I weigh around 75kg) and I have been very impressed on how good traction these narrow small threaded tyres give. The back wheel have almost none of the small middle nubs left after 2500km but the side nubs still catch me if I am about to slide out with the rear end. All in all a fantastic tyre that get my best recommendations.
Great review. I am running the 37c on my CX/Gravel bike. Mounted tubeless on a set of ROL Range Alloy clincher wheels (23mm internal width) . Mounting was a complete pain requiring metal levers. (Which I hate using) and A LOT of effort. After they sealed pretty well only losing 5 psi overnight. I am a little paranoid about running over rough terrain as if they ever do get a cut that will not seal I dread trying to break and reseat with a tube on the trail. Honestly I don’t know if the paranoia will overwhelm me or I will keep running them.
Hi - need some help to select the right gravel tire. I currently have the Bontrager GR2 Team Issue Gravel Tire (700c 40mm) - but get flats all the time (even when i ride on the normal street - 1 week riding - flat - 4 flats on the back tire, 1 flat on the front tire in the last 4 weeks). I got the Tannus Armour Tire Inserts - but that doesnt fix the flat problem. Can you recomment me another gravel tire? which one has the best quality and prevents flats Vittoria, Continental or WTB or something else? My terrain: Road and also some Offroad (forrest with gravel and fine sand). I would say 60% road, 40% offroad. I have a Trek Dual Sport 3 2020 with these rims: Bontrager Tubeless Ready Disc, 32-hole, presta valve. (700c) Can you also recommend a small upgrade on the rims (also with TLR)?
Thank you so much for this video. I have a Niner RLT Steel 2018 and run the 45 Riddlers front and back and love the tires. My question to you is this: Do you think you could run a wider tire on the front of my Niner, say a 47 or 50? For sure, my back tire is maxed out on clearance, but I do think my front could take a bit of a wider true...
Hi there! I ride a 2019 Niner RLT 9 Steel - nice bike choice! It does look to me like there is a little bit more clearance on the fork, but per Niner's recommendations, 45mm is the widest you can go without changing to a 650B wheel/tire size. I have not tried to go any wider than 45mm so I can't say for sure that it'll work if you do.
Nice review. I'd like to see a comparison between the 37c and 45c Riddlers. I ride a RLT RDO, and no way can I fit a 45c tire in there. Curious if the extra volume effects the rolling resistance and overall speed and feel.
I'm curious to know the same thing so my next pair of tires will be the Riddler 37c. Stay tuned and we'll come back with a video comparing the two different sizes. Might be a little while before I need to replace these 45's though!
I just installed some of the Riddler 37 tan wall tires on a new RLT RDO build. I had a sidewall failure on the first ride approximately 12 miles in on hard pack with some loose gravel on the surface forest roads. I'm pretty disappointed with my experience up to this point. In over 40 years of bike riding, I've never had a failure on a side wall where there were no hazards in the road/trail. I contacted WTB, and their response was essentially accidents happen. Oh well, back to Ramblers for me. $60 experiement/lesson learned. I've read multiple accounts online of the tan wall Riddlers being fragile...I have to agree with these reviews now.
Matthew Reid I know this is an old thread but to help others seeing this here is my comment. I have been very happy with the 37c riddler (see my earlier comments in this thread) but wanted a bit more comfort and grip on the lose on hard pack. I have now been riding the new Raddler 44c about a month and I just love them. The extra volume and larger knobs on the raddler 44c compared to the riddler 37c does not make the tire slower in any way. I actually think the role slightly better even on tarmac! I know that this sounds strange but that is the case. I use my gravel bike for transport to work 30km every day and I can se on my time/watt usage that I’m faster with the raddler 44c Another big bonus is that’s it’s like getting at full suspension bike with the extra volume - very comfortable compared to the 37c
Normal, presta tubes will work fine as long as they are the right size. Make sure the tubes are 700x45c (or 700x37c if you go with the narrower Riddlers).
Worst tires money can buy, got two flats with these in a space of 5 months... one of them was straight after instillment. Ran these at 50 PSI and on the road type surfaces. Really disappointed in these tires.

These were super hard to get on the rims.
You should create a playlist of gravel bike tire reviews!!!! AND UPLOAD MORE OFTEN!
We've been riding some new gravel tires from Maxxis, Panaracer, and Continental. We'll put together our thoughts and try to get them uploaded soon!
Planet Cyclery can you do a review of the Terreno Dry tyres
Thanks for this review😃
In the 29er OK ?

Nice video! After seeing this I consider buying them. Does one need special tubes for this, or it fits with the normal tubes as well?
Normal, presta tubes will work fine as long as they are the right size. Make sure the tubes are 700x45c (or 700x37c if you go with the narrower Riddlers).
Max psi?
50 PSI is the max recommended tire pressure.
