This guy has just the perfect mix of professionalism and humour. I love how easy to follow and clear his lessons are. There's always something creative and challenging in Mr. Randall's exercises. Thanks for your implication in the drumming community Jeff 🤘
Fantastic! I'm a 64 year old white guy and my favorite thing to play on drums is funk. Been playing only about a year, but seem to have a pretty good feel for swung rhythms. If I started a cover band it would be funk oriented from JB & Stevie up through those groups that were hot in the 80's like the Gap Band. I love your playing Jeff. Impeccable feel and groove. Even your most simple parts have a level of professionalism that really shines through. I think because you pay attention to the little details that add character.
I’ve been following your channel for a long while. Just wanted to say you’re absolutely unreal for sharing these videos. Excellent drummer. One of the best I’ve seen on TH-cam. Keep the grind man.
Hope you enjoy working on these fills! Btw, I'm available for online lessons and would love the chance to work with you. For details: JeffRandallDrumming.com
I love it! Take an idea and expand it to 12 grooves what a great idea. I can see many other tweaks that can be applied that expand these grooves even more. Thanks for the brain food for my drummer mind. :-)
By the end of this video I was damn near hypothermic! I had to crank the heater up! Your toms sound awesome. Appreciate the time and energy you put in to bring these videos to us Jeff.
@@JeffRandallDrumming Yes, we are good, thank you for asking and I hope all is well there in Nashville, Tennessee and your family. Have a nice Sunday and week!
@@JeffRandallDrumming Thank you bro for making such great content! Your vids are an inspiration for me to actually practice. I got some shedding to do to get funky!!!
Great collection! I was actually doing your backbeat fills from an earlier video with swung feel to add some fills to another one of your previous lessons, the funky beats. These will complement those even more!
For years i was amazed by the fill ins of Jabo starks in "papa don't papa don't..."screamings of James Brown. It will be great if you can do a video presentation of the tune -groove and fills- as you did already For Funky Drummer long time ago .BTW it was the first time i heard a third open hi hat into the groove that solved me a big question about it.Precise job indeed.Thank you
I like your feel! It's like Chad Smith's. Is he one of your influence? By the way man, this fills are very useful! Thank you for sharing Jeff! You inspire me to learn more.
Man lol i finally got my bass to toss some punch and my snare to stop ringing like a rotary dial home phone, toms are like Tom Pflah Roar lol and Don't get me started on the cheap af cymbals, 150 for the kits not bad but if i Don't surpass $500 in upgrades I'll be shocked and pleasantly surprised 🙃 lol
Hi Jeff! Firstly, this channel and your playing are fantastic! Secondly, how long does it take (on average, I realize every one is different) if one was to practice rudiments for 30 mins a day to get to where one could play somewhat like you? Thanks!
This is by far one of the best drum channels all over TH-cam. Your lessons are always so well produced, content very clear and useful!
Big thanks man!
Fun to watch!!! Thanks Jeff!

Thanks! Absolutely. LOVE Chad’s playing. I think there’s a lot more going on with his approach than people give him credit for.

Haha, just crank it up! That's really about it.
Thanks for sharing Jeff! This is awesome

Yes, that's one of my favorites as well!
Yoooo you crack me up 🤣😂🤣
OOOooh stank face! is ON!!

Basic fill number 4 is pretty much the intro to "poison" 😂😂😂
Good call! It’s definitely got that “new jack swing” vibe to it.

Jokes are getting better :3
Haha, I'm gonna try and keep the dad jokes coming.

Jeff "temperature wise" Randall
any advice to making your own fills, do you need to learn techniques and rudiments or is it a creativity thing?
Keeping ghost notes with a bass drum is easier for me
And... I've got these fills are go go beats )
Hi Jeff! Firstly, this channel and your playing are fantastic! Secondly, how long does it take (on average, I realize every one is different) if one was to practice rudiments for 30 mins a day to get to where one could play somewhat like you? Thanks!
definitely needed that clarification on the temperature joke XD
What ride cymbal is that?
Dude your playing and sound are extra stanky!... I’ve learned so much about groove and pocket from your videos... Thanks!
What heads do you use for the toms?
They’re Remo coated Emperors Kenny.

For sure Dewayne! They’re 16’s.

Trying to bring my corny side to the videos more and more. Haha.
@@JeffRandallDrumming I’m practicing your stuff right now , it’s great, you’re channel is gonna blow up dude, guaranteed
I know what you mean...
What are those juicy hats?
Those are 16" Zildjian K Lights. They're butter!
0:20 all those who heard PH intro 👇
No
I hate it when people slow down the drums. I don’t learn that way. I want to just watch it at full speed
