I don't do that in this video. So watch my journey as I beat Fire Emblem Three Houses only using the base class.

How do I know? Because I already did it… on my first playthrough… when I had no idea certifications were a thing… and I never bothered to check.

What difficulty, normal, hard, Maddening? It's do able on all difficulties, the problem on Maddening though is the abilities some the enemies get and you will probably never double any enemy with only a few characters getting speed upon level ups. Oh and some of them end up having overly inflated stats namely the bosses.
@@ashenwolf3846 I did it on the easiest difficulty because it was my first ever experience with fire emblem, which is also why I didn’t use certifications because I’m a dumb dumb and didn’t know what they were and didn’t bother to check. This does mean that I got certain story classes and in like the final 3~4 chapters I finally figured out what to do with certifications, so it wasn’t really a “base class only” challenge, but besides, my comment was mostly for laughs and wasn’t really meant to be taken too seriously 😅

I'm glad to find someone else who thinks Chapter 17 Azure Moon is bs. You can wipe out every single Empire unit on the map and the Alliance will still be out for blood as if they can't just fucking see who they're fighting. Even if there was some fog, as soon as anyone gets close to each other, they should realize "oh, I know those colours and those commanders, I went to school with them, they're not the enemy".

Fr. I wish there were a secret cutscene/dialogue for beating only the empire army and leave the other untouched during the pts gronder battle so they can join early and opened a secret route.
Like, for example in AM, if you defeat empire army faster and ignore the alliance army, Claude will command his troop to stop because he couldn't see the empire army anymore and will ascend to the sky to check if his instinct were correct. When he saw the kingdom army has defeated the empire army, he would meet Dimitri and Byleth and try to talk to them.
And in VW, maybe Dimitri would be confused at first and lost sight of Edelgard. When the fog cleared up, Claude will carefully approached him and try to negotiate with Dimitri and convince him to join
The idea is that Claude himself is kindof an asshole who does sorta seize every opportunity. In the event you defeat the empire, he sees it as a chance to get rid of the other side as well. He does this when he allies and betrays the empire in three hopes. In the next chapter, Claude has basically lost all his forces and goes to Almyra. Claudes gambit failed.

Finally, a TH-camr who actually used the term "psychosis" in an appropriate and non-derogatory context. That's honestly more impressive than the actual run. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Another pretty hard but fun challenge is the "One base weapon" challenge!
-You can only use the most basic equipment you have, the Training version, and it can't be forged to make it better.
-Each unit is only allowed a single weapon for an entire mission. If you wanna make it harder, they can be banned from every chaning the weapon they use, so if you gave them a Training Sword, then that's the only thing they can use for the rest of the game, and they can never switch to a Training Bow, Lance or magic.
-Magic units can ONLY use the first spell they get, and if it's a dual class like Mortal Savant, you can only go with either a weapon or their magic for a mission, not both.
-Any weapon you pick up is banned from use, but you can carry it around

13:20 This is why I hate the incomplete localization of this game; the Japanese isn't even fully translated. I'm no Japanese speaker but I'm pretty sure Alois says something along the lines of "Captain, I, Alois, truly lived a happy life," instead--which is more apt, because Alois does indeed have regrets since he's leaving his wife and daughter behind. In the original context he affirms his love for his family and his respect/admiration for Jeralt at the same time.

This was a really nice watch, the challenge itself seemed doable yet time consuming. The commentary was really fun to listen to. Uh I'm not good at commenting but gotta make sure this boost the algorithm haha.
The fact you moved so slowly & didn't use stride out of stubbornness honestly made me think about of the fact in my first playthrough I didn't even know that was even a thing lmoa.
Ingrid was my favourite character in three houses. I'm so happy she pulled through right at the end.

It's definitely an interesting challenge. In fact, I did this challenge myself, but on VW (since I figured it was the easiest route, it would make an already difficult challenge better to handle). I definitely underestimated how bad it could be to have everyone stuck at 4 movement, no promotion bonuses ever, and not many great skills either, since you cannot master new classes after commoner/noble. Fortunately, the boots, movement ring and Yuri's relic did wonders for giving a few units extra movement. But no canto was also a pain; we really use it as such a crutch so much, that it hurts when you don't have it anymore. But still, as annoying as this challenge was, I still think VW made it easier than it could have been. But the final map without any fliers was very frustrating in that damn swamp.
My first time playing the game I had no idea about classes (cause I skipped the tutorials), and I didn’t realize it was a thing I could do until like the end of the first half when byleth gets their exclusive class

Honestly the ONLY good thing about this run is everyone can use magic. Which considering how broken magic is in Three Houses is a decent positive.
Also I know that pain of losing a character but they still show up in story cutscenes. Poor Alfred in Engage, I just didn't think the Emblem Paralogues would kill my units. Like Byleth just murdered Alfred with no remorse.

Googled and watched this because I was intrigued about all my characters having access to magic... Forgetting about the lack of combat arts and abilities, dog! I'd still be intrigued as to how they'd fair if you customised them a bit with NG+ 🤔

Fun Video and all but I played this games a dozen times and I never saw Miklan moving around to the base level ground where he "met" your Dedue. How did you do that lol
if my memory serves me correctly Gilbert ended up aggroing Miklan by hugging the wall which caused the unfortunate meeting with Dedue

funny enough, i thought i came up with this a few minutes ago, started the run, and thought, hm maybe someone did this! and they did.
I did something similar but instead of noble/commoner, my run was monk/noble/commoner only run in SS maddening new game. But why did this in BL? Dimitri in chapter 13 automatically become high lord if you want to make this run purely noble/commoner then you should not use him, which making this map more difficult.
In Verdant wind, Azure Moon and Crimson Flower the lord character will promote automatically at chapter 13 which does mean I can't use them in that chapter however I can reclass them back to Noble after the chapter is complete, Which is what I did for Dimitri. Now Edelgard doesn't have the same chapter so that would be fine However she also has the shortest campaign at 18 chapters. Silver Snow might also have been fine but I wanted to play a campaign that lasted the longest even if it's only by one more chapter, hence why I choose the Blue Lions.
I did one of these on maddening and in hindsight i have no idea how I did it. When I got to the final map I got stuck and decided it was not worth my time to play the lottery trying to get the rolls that would let me win, but I’m still proud and ashamed that I made it that far

Ngl, this was basically the first half of my first playthrough. I was skipping all the tutorials, and was so oblivious to how to class up units, I had to ask my friend to tell me how (someone who actually payed attention to the game at that time)

Jesus, you go through the whole game only to ditch the rules YOU made on the final chapter for the turn wheel. Just do what you originally promised without saying the other shit then…
